You can still get good 4070 / 4080 Deals. If someone (like me) likes DLSS/DLAA and RT/PT its worth. Most of my friends got a 4070ti / 4080(super) or a 4090. 10-15% got AMD. it really depends the video shows it being the same price so maybe it is over where OP lives so it would appear trash, but I'm in the UK and it's like 70-100 pounds cheaper the 4070 compared to 4070 super, so here it would be a good gpu. And maybe one I'll consider
I got my first laptop with RTX 4060 at 8gb VRAM and I didn't think it was bad at all. I play mostly older games anyway and I hardly use ray tracing unless I play games like Forza. Now, I did get a curved monitor that's 3440 × 1440 at 165hz to use with my laptop and boy that was the game changer. I'm running every game with at least 100hz and everything looks and runs beautiful but that's my experience 🤷♂️ maybe it's different for everyone, so when I see people "hating" on the 4060 it does make me wonder. Forza for me runs amazing at higher settings, Halo, Half Life, BO2 etc. The only game that doesn't run perfect for me is Flight Simulator but it's not terrible, it's just not as high of a frame rate as the other games I have. I'm trying to learn more about graphics cards and other things so content like this really helps when I see different points of view and I'm not one to shame others. I'm hoping to upgrade in the future, maybe to a desktop, but as of now I'm good.
Did you try Frame Gen on your card? I can get with PT + Psycho + DLAA 70-90 FPS in Cyberpunk on my 4096x2160 OLED. Its a dream. Without FG i get like 40 FPS +-10 Some ppl dont like it. I never get any Frame Bugs or whatever. Im happy with my card + FG 40xx series is pretty good. With my 4090 i get 1-2x FPS in Cyberpunk with higher settings. (Compare to my old 3080ti)
the 4060 is actually one of the best GPU you can get for a laptop, because it has the same performances as the desktop version (same wattage (115W) same VRAM amount, same cuda/tensor/RT cores, etc...) it's a very good laptop GPU. it just lack VRAM for a desktop GPU even though it's not that bad, but it would have been better with 12GB VRAM like the 3060 instead of the 8GB downgrade it got. still a VERY good laptop GPU, because the 70/80/90 laptop GPU's aren't as good as desktop GPU's, far from it. and obviously it's way better than the 3060 for games but for AI production a 3060 is better because it has more VRAM.

Card with high price to performance. Usually the super version of the card are the greatest price to performance. But if you don't care about money I guess you can just skip that step. If you're don't care about brand you will usually (not always) found greater price to performance in AMD

Nvidia completely cheaped out on the 4060, though. Way too much. The 4060 is based on the AD107 chip, and if you were to go by previous gen Nvidia GPUs, the 07 chips are normally used for the 50 class GPUs. This is the first time Nvidia has used an 07 chip for a 60 class GPU. The 60 class GPUs normally use the 06 chip. For example, the 3060 was on GA106, the 2060 on TU106, and now, all of a sudden, the 4060 uses AD107 instead of the AD106 chip it was expected to use. It makes no sense. This is just a shady marketing tactic that Nvidia used to try and trick gamers into thinking it's a 4060 when it's a rebranded 4050 in disguise. Hopefully, the RTX 50 Series won't suffer from this problem.

One gen behind is always better, the 40 will be the best when the 50s are out, because of the patches, right now 20 and 30 are the best ones

Nvidia completely cheaped out on the 4060, though. Way too much. The 4060 is based on the AD107 chip, and if you were to go by previous gen Nvidia GPUs, the 07 chips are normally used for the 50 class GPUs. This is the first time Nvidia has used an 07 chip for a 60 class GPU. The 60 class GPUs normally use the 06 chip. For example, the 3060 was on GA106, the 2060 on TU106, and now, all of a sudden, the 4060 uses AD107 instead of the AD106 chip it was expected to use. It makes no sense. This is just a shady marketing tactic that Nvidia used to try and trick gamers into thinking it's a 4060 when it's a rebranded 4050 in disguise. Hopefully, the RTX 50 Series won't suffer from this problem.

Buying a RTX 4070 Ti Super after the scandal AMD has been after I built a full AMD pc. Frying cpu's and shit graphic drivers, how people defend this brand is madness to me
oh yeah butbfir nvidea my 3060 had the most awful driver issues ive ever had before, but that doesnt mean nvdia drivers are bad and if your single gpu doesnt work that dorsnt mean amd drivers are bad either

The 4090 is to overpriced so id reccomend buying the 30 series because i have the 3060 and its really great at 1440p

İ think it would be 12 gb vram. If card's power is not enough, it doesn't need much vram. Example 4070 Super is 12 gb vram but its power enough for it. Even 4070 super need 2 gb more vram
