The lighting has to be spot on with the SX70. The dynamic range of the film is terrible so it’s important to not have too many dark shadows in the photo. And you need to take it out the camera a lot quicker than you do to stop exposing it to light in the first few seconds for the best development.
I got a model one sx 70 myself on ebay with 2 packs of new film for 150, and it is in PERFECT condition! I am so glad to be back on the polaroid bandwagon as I gave up the hobby back in 2009 due to expired film and impossible still being in its beta stages. I also see you're local, where you from might I ask? I'm from Ridley Park, right off 95 and the blue route and am planning on going to Reading to take a photoshoot of the Pagoda :^)
Hi Artie, I am looking for a SX70, would you mind to share the seller from your SX70 and maybe some pictures of the result you can get? Greetings from Peru. BTW, I love this video...it's really a honest review
Get the ‘frog tongue” attachment for the camera, it will keep the film covered as it comes out and protects the film from continuing to be exposed. Polaroid film has a narrow latitude range so as they say “embrace the imperfections”…
Yes bro 🔥 keep the vids up! My SX70 seemed to be a little green so now I just use it for close up portraits because they look so good on the instant film
Also, you got blue shots because the weather must have been below 50 degrees ferenheit. Was it? You'll get cooler temperatures due to the film being exposed in colder conditions. To prevent this, try to keep your camera warm and put your photo in a warm place IMMEDIATELY after it comes out of the camera. That is easier said than done, because you only have a 2 second (yes, 1-3 sexond) window to put the film in a warm place. You will notice this happening in the summer time too, where pictures exposed to 75 degree and up weather will incline to come out reddish rather than blue. Mint has a lens collection for 75 dollars on the polaroid site (100 dollars on its own site) that has lenses to compensate for these issues. Cheers!
Great video and shots dude! Did you ever have any issues with corrosion on the SX-70 light meter? Every single one that I’ve owned has had that issue, but fortunately it’s an easy fix, otherwise all of my shots would have been overexposed
love the video. the comment of the film being more sensitive only applies to the SX-70 film. every other film type offered by the new Polaroid is still the same sensitivity as the ones back in 2009 and earlier (to the beginning of 600 films release)

The film speed of SX-70 film hasn’t really changed much since the old Polaroid days, it used to be 150 ASA back then, and now it’s 160.
Slingin the xpro-2/3(?) as well?? How are you liking fuji camreas to shoot along side film? been thinking about getting one...
Loving the XPro3! Been using the voigtlander glass and it’s works great. Same work flow too as film I feel!
@@JesseJosephh sweet, need to save up tho.. thats a pricey setup
Love it, man. I've been contemplating getting another SX-70, but I really don't like polaroids hahahah. The SX-70 is just such a cool fucking camera.
YES
I wish your scans were better. The prints are way better when you hold them in front of you.
