They went pretty heavy handed on that terminal soldering, left a proper mess of flux with it. They've also filled every via with solder, probably using a bath instead of silk screening each board, but some components look almost hand-done. The connector-less serial out is pretty interesting though, wonder if they use that for a different model that shares the same base board. The biggest sin of them all though.. That serial number contains an O and a 0 and they are next to one another, this brings me pain. The font for it could have been worse I suppose. Nice video!

We use the wifi in these pumps.
The NiMH battery's don't actually support wifi afaik.
The wifi batteries are Lithium and have a seperate board inside that controls the wifi. BBraun sells a battery replacement kit where you can swap the wifi module over, so no need to change MAC addresses.
Wifi connection in Space pumps is very slow and roaming is unreliable.
The newer SpacePlus pumps have an internal wifi antenna in the pump itself and have a way more stable connection.

That battery is hard to get! I had to wait over a month despite trying for even the 3rd party Cables and Sensors one. I eventually did receive an OEM battery but not before trying to get my faulty battery retrofitted by RD Batteries, unfortunately the battery circuitry was bricked after their retrofit as the device kept saying replace battery, they did credit my account though!

Getting all to common nowadays unfortunately. We've had expensive Thomas vacuum pumps fail on us due to cheap Chinese bearings that blew their balls out.

Disposable and upsell to over charge, guessing they wanted to keep the batteries OEM only and the only way to make it is putting a PCB on it and loading software on it.
