Having two children was the best job ever! I enjoyed every minute of it (even the rebellious teen years). My two boys (adult sons now 39 and 50) are so close to us and with each other. They are in tune with us as we age and they to do things we can no longer do around the house. They lovingly check in almost every day, bring us dinner when we are sick, they'll come in wash dishes, clean up if needed. They love being home and hanging out with us. I attribute their behaviors to how hands on we were with them as parents and its paying back now. They were always our top priority. We are strong family and we deeply care for one another. I began watching your channel as you set up your classroom years ago and I just kept watching. I am a retired teacher. After my last son graduated from high school, I dusted off my teaching certificate and went to work. I taught high school history for 20 years. Watching your channel gives me great joy. Wishing you and your family a blessed holiday season.

My grandfather passed away suddenly a month ago, so this whole Christmas season (that I usually love) has just felt blah. And it’s going so fast which kills the magic too😵‍💫
AND my students went all the way to the 20th this year, which none of us are used to, and that makes getting ready for the holiday harder too.
All around not loving it this year. But seeing your videos brings joy to my days and today I’m watching this sitting by my tree, so thank you 🎄❤️

Christmas is typically a hard holiday for me just because of the dynamics in my family. This is me and my husband’s first Christmas with our new baby boy. I have dreamed of this my whole life! Really praying that I am able to cling to what Christmas truly means for us and that I’m able to enjoy the beautiful little family Jesus has blessed me with. Because of Jesus we have eternal life! And we get to enjoy the gifts He’s given us here on earth, like our sweet baby.

I have my hands full with my 3 beautiful babies and I love it! I’m going to be so bored when they leave the home. Our society tends to paint a negative picture of having children. People think of the stressed out mom needing her wine at the end of the night and I wish people would stop perpetuating that! Children are a blessing from the Lord. Yeah I get overwhelmed and need breaks, but my kids are some of my favorite people to be with, even in the chaotic times ❤

For the people with the negativity around kids: unfortunately that is what our country is shifting to. I hope and pray about our declining birth rates and that more women will wake up to the beauty that comes from motherhood. But when a culture paints children in a negative way, it’s hard to hear comments about kids in a positive way. You are absolutely right when you talk about how being a mom is God’s gift and a ministry in itself. Just responding to those people saying that you are thankful your hands are full is planting a small seed. I’ve done it before, and it usually receives a positive comment after it. But watching and hearing about the choices you make as a parent are admirable. And I love the tidbits of God’s wisdom that shine through each of your videos. Merry Christmas!

I had braces twice as a child (they took them off too early and had to put them back on). Anyway, they put a “permanent retainer” on my bottom teeth. I asked them to take it off in college bc it was getting so gross. They took it off and didn’t say anything about getting/wearing the plastic retainers. Soooo my teeth shifted and by the time I realized it, it was too late. So now I have retainers to prevent even more shifting but I hate wearing them lol. I wear them a couple times a month but not sure that even does anything 🤣

I got my braces off when I was 13. I wore a retainer until I was 34…my dentist died laughing when I mentioned I was stopping. He assured me my teeth are fine and I don’t need the retainer. I’m now like a solid year without wearing it and I’ve had no movement!

I still wear my retainer! I’ll be 23 next month, and I’ve been wearing them every night since I was 16! If I don’t wear them for one night, or up to 3 nights without them, my teeth will shift!

Our sermon this morning was about having peace with Jesus and our outside circumstances don’t control our peace-also that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He trusted in God to be His King of Peace-God will take care of everything as our King and we bring everything to Him in prayer Philippians 4-even if we caused the problem-His grace is always there-I’m 55 and my only daughter is a married 29 year old, and I dearly miss every moment of being a Mama to a little girl-I’m also in my 34th year of teaching (first grade now but also have taught kindergarten, second, fourth)- a silent viewer since you lived in the other house before becoming a Mama-children are a blessing and you are doing a great job in the most important job!

I got my braces off at 12 and I’m 28 and still wear retainers at night 🤪 being pregnant with retainers is a bit rough though - I just wait until my stomach calms down and put them in/take them out when I’m feeling nauseous.

I finished Invisalign a year ago and am wearing my retainer every night. I probably always will because I'm scared not to. Sometimes I can feel my teeth have slightly moved just by the end of the day.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you asked the question about retainers. I have been wondering the same thing.😂 I had braces 15 years ago in middle school and have been wearing my retainers ever since. Long story short I just ruined them and so now I can't wear them. And was just debating do I go back and get new ones or can I just not wear them? But it's been several days and I can already feel my bottom teeth shifting. 😮 I totally agree with you! Why do we spend so much money for them to just shift back later. Why did God make teeth have memory? Anyway hope you have a very Merry Christmas! And that your teeth don't shift to any degree more annoying than you can handle.

Teeth sit in sockets that mold around the shape of the tooth. This socket can change shape with pressure to create a kind of “new” socket shape, but if not held in that new position constantly and maintained, the socket (due to its elasticity) may essentially return back to the original molded shape; hence the retainer. Having straighter teeth makes them easier to clean and reduces the possibility of developing cavities. It can also improve someone’s bite alignment, I can imagine, and their efficiency or ease in chewing food. I got a permanent lower retainer after my braces came off and love it. It just takes slightly more effort to make sure it stays clean but the time and money spent on getting my teeth to where they are now was worth it and so is the little bit of extra time taking care of my teeth now. My knowledge may not be 100% on point but I grew up around and worked in the dental world for a long time and have a career that is adjacent to the mouth/teeth/chewing in some capacity.

I got my braces off over 30 years ago. My top teeth are fine without a retainer. My bottom teeth, however, need the retainer. They always will. I think every person's mouth will be different, but my bottom jaw has no room and I don't want them to shift any more than they have. I broke the retainer about 5 years ago and the teeth started shifting rapidly. My orthodontist has long retired, so I had to find a new ortho and they made a mold/new retainer for me.

Emma, I have an older mom that constantly shares negative comments. In my Christian heart, I think she is jealous. She also doesn't have Jesus so when people make comments that are hard, try to have the grace that Christ gives us. I hear negative comments everyday and the devil loves my reaction. No excuses for behavior but a reality in a world that needs Christ.
