- In this video we upgrade our Range Rover L405 ( also the same parts process for the Range Rover Sport L494 ) from standard brakes to the Brembo style 6 pot calipers with larger drilled and grooved vented disks / rotors. We also upgrade the brake pads and bleed the brakes. This is the same upgrade for the Range Rover Sport L494
You can purchase this upgrade on our website.

Watching this in 2024,that builders claw hammer is a disaster !!
Very informative though,thanks.
You guys forgot to mention that the range rovers need a special diagnostic tool to fully bleed the system. I have done this brake caliper upgrade and i manually bled the brakes and i still have a bubbly feeling brake pedal. I found out that range rovers need to have the diagnostic tool to bleed the ABS as well in order to complete the bleed process. Perhaps a full video on properly bleeding brakes on range rovers?
Did you get the video on tool to fully bleed the system?
Depending on the year. 2008 bleeds with normal tools
Brake fluid removes paint very easily, so protect your newly painted components.....great video!
Great point!
Also enjoyed your channel a lot!
Never allow the brake fluid to leak onto the paintwork! The cap drips nicely under the windshield....
If you then want to top up brake oil with a cap of the gearbox oil..... make sure it is clean! The ATF oil is still in it.
Use paper to press under the reservoir. Then if you're going to refill, and you accidentally leak something next to it... It leaks in here.
Great video but you need to clean the hub face before fitting the new discs
Fair point !
Brake sensore has a metal clip that comes with it. Make sure not to lose it
Brilliantly done. Thanks.
Will the smaller stock rotors on RRS fit 18inch EVo corse dakar rims that fit the larger rotor discovery 4?
Right
Hi, ok, I got 18 inch black Rhino Warlords for my 2014 land rover lr4. I was wondering if these are slimmer or shorter in the height of the brembo caliper, to fit my black rhinow warlords wheel.
Currently the oem caliper just touches the inside of the wheel. So I have to sald it down, or spacers at this point.
Did you ever get those wheels fitted?
Why have you not uprated all four calipers
Is that 'tick/clack' noise normal on start up at 38:46 on the video? My L405 i bought recently does the same and some people say its not enough power to the starter or the starter is on it's way out. Thanks.
do these brakes allow for ceramic pads, or could you have a kit that has optional ceramic pads over semi-metallic?
Shame you didn't clean everything before fitting these parts, cleaning the bolt threads and some copper slip would help installation. Torqued up I hope?
Yes good point
To how much torque should the pin in the caliper be tightened?
Great video. What about a Disco 3/4 upgrade version? I have a face-lift 2014 and I'm looking to do the same with mine.
This is indeed possible - Craig at CamTech Land Rover was over the other day and he has done this modification. Its not too complex.

==================
Good morning,
I am a fan of your videos and services.
I have a 2014 Range Rover Sport HSE (L494). I live in France and I would like to go to your garage in England just to install these discs.
I'm ready to hit the road. Is an appointment possible?
If yes, what is your price please?
Sincerely,
Do you have any of these kits available? I would like in red but i can paint it red when i get it if necessary. I am in the USA. Thank you
how aboyt the rear brake? is there any upgrade?
hello do you have this kit for l405 tdv6 2013 i'm in france
Well ! That s the easiest brake bleed I have ever seen. it may be a good idea to crack the hose connection pipe fitting before before you remove the caliper, much easier than having it sliding around free, also it is not a good idea to get brake fluid on paintwork, I find that just trying the bolts into tapped hole before fitting, saves a lot of time when trying to hold a heavy caliper in place while you struggle to locate the bolt, at least you know it will screw in easily. Is there an upgrade for the L322 ?
Hi - thanks for the comments. Apparently this upgrade should fit the L322 also - we could do this video - let me add to the to do list. !
@@L663 Ha Ha If you do that you will never get the Fergi back together!
hi loving this channel so far, really am thinking about a 2015 supercharged sport. where do you get these discs from?
Hi - we will have these for sale on the website next week !
Hi, will this kit fit a 2015 evoque
Hi mate do you sell a rear brake upgrade for L405
Hi mate. I have a range rover sport 2014 and wanted to change the caliper covers exactly as you showed but I don't know where can I buy them. God bless
It depends where you are based - we have them on our website - PowerfulUK.com
Tell me the glass on the Ikea rolling tables are still intact.
Still going strong...
I JUST WANT NO MORE BRAKE DUST NEED Ceramic L494 Sport brakes with bembos
What about the stopping power? How better it is? And what about the durability of the disks, i`ve always had issue with non OEM disks?
~The stopping power will be greater with the 5 pots... the disks should wear fine... of course OEM disks are top quality and hard to beat.
You shuldbe clean proply hub before assembly new break disc “British job”😢
What size are the discs 380 x 34?
And what EBC pad numbers are compatible?
Planning on editing the CCF and flashing the necessary modules?
Are there files to edit for this ? the system is hydraulic until the ABS kicks in and then the ABS sensor tells it the wheel is stopping ?
Yes. The DSC/ABS Hydro-pump needs to have the updated settings to regulate the pressure for each channel. Those calipers look to be from a Sentinel/ARV/SEG.
@@SofisaDevelopment No calipers just from the supercharged L494 sport. I will have to get the IID tool out and see if we can do that CCF
Do you know if these fit on a 2017 Discovery 5? I believe the 2018 and up came with Brembos up front, but the 2017 has floating calipers. I thought they are the same part as on the RRS, but I couldn't confirm. Thanks!
Hi - just looked at the parts catalogue and yes the D5 was fitted with these 6 pot calipers.
Let me know and I will post the diagram on here.
This would be a good upgrade if you were towing !
I have tried e-mailing you guys about getting this kit with no response yet. Are you guys still selling these brake kits?
Hi - we have the kit but have to do some health and safety stuff before we start spraying again....should be a couple of weeks.
Will this kit fit a 2010 l322 Range Rover 3.6 diesel ..👍👍
I believe it will - i will get the L322 out hiding and see if we can do the upgrade !
powerfulukltd I’ve heard that RR’sbefore 2010 have different hubs
@@davidfarrar4245 We will take a look and work it out !
Does it fit the 2010 L322
Just performed this upgrade on my 2010MY L322 TDV8 3.6 with the standard twin piston TRW calipers. You can use a set of 6 pots from either l322 4.4 TDV8 / 5.0 SC or any 6 pots from an L405 or L494. (Mine are from a 2016 L405) Your original dust shields, pad wear sensor, brake disc retaining screw and brake caliper bolts can all be re used with the new setup. Any pads to fit the above mentioned models will he fine, they all seem to be the same. (I would recommend the EBC Ultimax 2 as per the video) You will however require a set of discs to fit an l322 4.4 tdv8 / 5.0 SC as these are different to the l405/l494 items. (The top hat of the disc is 20mm deeper to suit the l322 hubs) the correct part no is LR031845 for the discs. Hope this helps!
