Important thing about investment is that Hearts, the fans, the community have shown their commitment to the club, ensuring financial safety, enduring lower league stints and seeing a, largely positive rise back to where we should be. My current problem with our board and owners is there is too much of a love affair for Hearts and not enough good business decisions. The Levein saga being a good example when we should have cut losses earlier. Instead that Hearts loyalty from Budge & Co at the time cost us. An investor who will make smart business decisions based on economy and results is important. Someone with a bigger view of running football clubs. Its fair to say Brighton have become a sustainable club playing attractive football.
Hopefully he can identify a manager who can take us to the next level. The current stewardship and style of play are simply not acceptable. And, with the greatest respect, we should be aiming for so much more. Numerous seasons over the years we can point to us competing to win the league and unfortunately we have falling short. Get the right mix of players, tactics and with the help of our amazing fan base there should be no reason why we can't compete to break the very dull image/duopoly of Scottish football highest league. I'm sure all Hearts fans can remember the early days of the Burley era. Scotiish football was talk of the toon and Hearts were creating waves until it went tits up. The small team mentality will get us nowhere, and I truly believe we need a person of vision to take us to the next level and stay there. This will not only benefit Hearts but Scottish Football as a whole.
That's dictators for you though, something like 6 points clear then sack the manager? Bizarre! Not since the 50s Hearts have been a proper force, but money has benefited the Glasgow clubs more and links to down south etc since then.
Hearts need any external investment that they can get if they want to improve as a football team and potentially challenge for trophies, Tony bloom investing in us is only good news imo, as long as FOH remain as the majority shareholder we as the fans still have the overall say on major issues.
It's bizzare from last season, that with the right few recruitments we should have been pushing the Glasgow 2, yet instead have went backwards? Bizarre. My money was on Shankland getting his head turned and downing tools as Captain, so some of the rest have too. Dunno but possible because he's not scoring at all coming from ~60 goals in 2 seasons to ZERO is quite strange. Vargas as well, seems to have lost a bit of form. Bad summer? Probably. Overall yeah shuda got more strikers in, that's been a huge problem for us and Musa is a project just like Tagawa. Dec can't come soon enough and give the young lads a go as well! 👍
Aaron, since my first post I was listening to Daniel McIvers analysis on it and decided to have a look through some stuff online regards Bloom and his recruiting program. I suppose firstly, I was concerned there would be a catch but it looks fairly decent and is nothing like the Hibs model which I’m happy about tbh. My only question is, in regards to a percentage share of the club, surely that would have to come out of the Foundation?
The FOH would still be the majority shareholder. I’m not sure where the shares would be taken from, some folk have speculated that Budge would be selling up, but if I’m honest I have no idea 😅
I’m not 100% certain these kind of “investments” are actually beneficial, I suppose it’ll all play out eventually but if you look at Hibs and the mess they’ve been in plus Foley and Black Knights Group making public statements at odds with the CEO and board members in hiring David Gray, this kind of involvement isn’t helpful at all. Be careful what you wish for, that’s all I’d say..
I agree, Mike, these chancers only invest that kind of cash if they smell a profit, just like Budge who's family has made millions from her investing in our club. Our recruitment under Joe Savage was excellent and it's still a mystery why he left, I'm never buying that, "he just wanted to leave on a high", nonsense of an excuse. As for this delusional "player trading model" actually working in Scotland, it won't. We are know worldwide as the "joke league next to England", or as the "farmers' league" and our own supporters agree with this view and repeat the same mantra on a daily basis. "Oor league, mate? It's a joke, a fermurs' league, I blame the SFA!" and so on. It's therefore no surprise that the majority of others outside of Scotland feel the same way. This perception, right or wrong, destroys any potential "player trading model" dreams some might have. Lawrence Shankland scores over 30 goals for Hearts, he's done this consistently with 3 different clubs, he's 29 years old and in his prime, he only has a year left on his contract and only Rangers tried to sign him. Why? Here's why: "Lawrence Shankland scored over 30 goals for Hearts." "Yes, but it's only in the Scottish league, the standard is a joke there." Establishing a "player trading model" even if the chancer invests his cash? I very much doubt it and the facts of the matter show why that's the case in Scotland. There's only two financial models that work in Scotland: The Old Firm model - Win the league and do well in Europe The rest of us - Finish in as high of a league position as you can, get good cup runs, qualify for Europe. Sell our souls for a lousy £10 million quid? No thanks.
Let's hope Hearts start climbing the table or he will be off! The no proper strikers signing during summer was a red flag and yeah Musa doesn't count, as he is pretty much Tagawa project 2.0.
@@FootballManiaHD I said last season we needed big Defenders who can clear crosses easily and another striker or 2 who can do the same who are quick and can run off defenders easily. But none of that was covered, Shankland was talked about a lot in the papers as per usual from Glasgow red tops like The Record etc, so turning his head and Rangers are cheap buggers, now he's lost his form, Vargas too after a difficult International time. So we only really got some pace at the bk and added competition to midfield, but keeping Shankland should have been the bare minimum, Tagawa we sold bk to the J League and we got Musa as kind of a replacement for him being a "Project" too. Imho we needed 2 extra strikers, a big aerial threat striker and a quick experienced striker, possibly another loan type like we did with Simms/Humphrys. We need a dynamic like we had with Lafferty/Naismith, but again Rangers with their usual tactics as soon as we look like a threat try and dismantle us, especially up front and we needed another couple of big defenders to muscle away the attack and mix well with our other quicker defenders so our defence is solid having strength, height & quickness, agility variations to clear as much as possible. But yeah it was a strange window, sorted out Dhanda, Spittal and Penrice early, but after that it was just the quick defenders and a project striker and back up goalie, so imho only half our recruitment was done. Hopefully with Blooms investment and analytical tools we can find those hidden gems and give Celtic and Rangers a boot up the arse, not seen since crazy Romanovs 1st season sacking Burley with Hearts 6 points clear of Celtic, a decent mid 80s and a cracking 50s last time we won the league...ouch! But since then, especially the late 80s, 90s onwards mega ca$h has ruled the game and Rangers/Celtics links with down south etc, all helped them monopolise the league and so on. So hopefully it could be our turn to get some of that well needed input for a change and you've got to laugh at the Rangers media trying to push the "Bloom is urged to look at Rangers for investment", gota laugh at that lot, greedy as hell, what was monopolising 40 years not enough for yous lot, was the 90s almost 10 in a row not enough, same goes for Celtic in the 2010s that should not really be happening at this level if the league structure was fair and the SFA have shown their biased hand time and time again, now they have a new toy in VAR to just do as they please, I mean whatever happened to GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY? Now it's used to referee ALL the important decisions, taking the fun out of scoring etc. Corrupt Rotters & Greedy Baskets, how is Scottish football supposed to grow with all that nonsense going on and having only 2 teams win the league, how's that going to appeal to fans outside Scotland or even grow it further here to the natives? We should have a League of 15, 28 games to start, then split top 8, 14 games, bottom 7, 12 games. So a season of 42 games or 40 games + a relegation play off, so 42 for them too. We need to have a league where there is a big 4-5, not a big 2, then the league becomes a bit more competitive and better for viewers, more exciting and more teams get recognised in Europe as well. One thing I find strange is that, in football there's a LOT of skull duggery, I don't trust ANY of the guys at FIFA/UEFA/SFA etc because of past corruption and do you not think when Scotland started to beat Spain Norway, get into the Nations League A etc and England dropped to Nations League B, they stopped playing some of our national guys down south? Now guys like McTominay, Gilmour, Adams etc all getting the pump to Serie A? Is it just me or does that not look suspicious as hell? England with easy qualifying and groups in major competitions as well and they STILL do crap, they DO NOT want us looking good and unfortunately our league is VERY similar with them not wanting Hearts to do too well, as money talks and they put a $hit ton into promoting Celtic/Rangers and their whole infrastructure etc, while EPL promotes most of their teams and they have a "Big 6 -8", yet are obviously pushing others to get more recognition, so growing all the time, yet we've stood still with TWO TEAMS and our country is getting worse too, so the fans and higher ups if they care about our country and our national game they will help the league and it's OTHER TEAMS grow! Lol anyway sorry for the big essay had a lot to say, keep up the gd work Aaron. 👍 ❤❤🏆❤ H H G H
When possible mate, I’m in the press box for most home games, and I’m also working for Caledonian Braves when Hearts are away, so I can’t make as many as I used to. Still here though 🇱🇻
I don't understand what Bloom gets out of it. He gives us money , lets us use his recruitment methods then what? I know that he may get a small shareholding down the line but what does he get for his £10m, especially if the FOH members don't vote 90% when the time comes?
I’d say it’s further proof for him that his model works, which gives him more credibility. He also seems to enjoy taking a struggling team and giving them investment to success, I’ll happily take that 😂
Probably Hearts become a feeder club for Brighton & Hove Albion in the manner of Belgian club Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, who have done very well out of that arrangement. The better the football Hearts play the more successful they become and the better the quality of players they will attract and develop for Albion.
@@loxism72 What about Union St Gilloise? Wouldn't they have not benefited either, yet have? I don't see the problem tbh and no doubt safeguards will be put in place for any deals etc.
