اين ملودی به وسیله ژان باتيست لومر فرانسوی که برای تربیت یک گروه موسیقی نظامی به ایران آمده بود در اصل به شکل یک مارش نظامی نوشته شده بود.

ایده اصلی این مارش را لومر از بخش دوم «سه تصویر از بوتیچلّی» از اتورینو رسپیگی به عاریت گرفته است که هیچ کجا از آن یاد نکرده است. برای آشنایی با این ملودی به دقیقه 10:33 از لینک زیر توجه کنید:

این سرود در سال به وسیله سیاوش بیضایی بر اساس این مارش و با افزودن يك مقدمه، بخش میان و یک بخش پایانی، و با هارمونی گذاری، ارکستراسیون و فرم جدید به این شکل ساخته شده است.
شعر زیبا و حماسی این قطعه از ترانه‌سرای مشهور بیژن ترقی است که برای این تنظیم جدید سروده شده است.
شعر سروده شده برای گروه کر به بیژن ترقی تعلق ندارد و به وسیله آهنگساز (سیاوش بیضایی) سروده شده است.
صحنه‌های پایانی این ویدئو از نخستین اجرای «نخستین سرود ملی ایران» درتهران در سال 1384 در تالار رودکی است.
The main melody was composed by J. B. Lemaire in the time of Ghajar Sultan (Naser-ad-din Sha as a military march) after a melody by Ottorino Respighi (Botticelli Triptych (Trittico Botticelliano) | Three Botticelli pictures for orchestra (see play time 10:33)
It was originally composed for Piano solo and played only once during the jurney or Sultan to France on the piano. This hymn is completed and composed by Siavash Beizai. The Introduction, the middle part and the end part of this piece doesn't belong to Lemaire and serve as a formal and musical strengthening the music as a National Anthem. The lyrics are from Bijan Taraghi, written particularly for this new arrangement
