    more great selections here! I forgot all about Mr. Do.

      I love Me Do! The SNES version is fat super, but so is the hardware X10. But on the little Atari 2600… it’s not a terrible port at all.

    Ok this one is equally as good as part 1 there are a few of these I didn't even know of including your favorite Seaquest. Star Trek SOS was really advanced for the time I had no idea.

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  10 месяцев назад

      Of course, Star Trek SOS was superior for more advanced consoles, like C64, the the arcade is amazing, but for it’s time, 2600 held up it’s end. 😎😀

    I'm told they made a version of Frogger on cassette for the Starpath Supercharger that was supposedly a little better than Parker Bros.' version due to increased RAM or whatever. They could do this because they licensed the game to different companies for cartridges and cassettes. But considering Frogger by Parker Bros. is pretty good and sold 4 million, I'm not sure what the other company accomplished by releasing their version a year later?
    Other good Parker Bros. games include Q-Bert and The Empire Strikes Back, which I still found fun in 2020.

      There’s a Frogger ROM out there that’s called “Frogger Arcade” For 2600. I play it on Retron 77. It’s almost exactly like the arcade. Good stuff. Check out Part 1 for some other good ones. I love your comments! Thank you.

    Atari's 1982 Logbook has a challenge for _Warlords._ Play game 14 on difficulty B:
    Pro (Worthy Opponent): 3 wins,
    Master (Fearless Foe): 4 wins,
    Wizard (Invincible): 5 wins.
    I made Wizard, scoring 5-4-2-0, but don't have a date for it, so maybe it was in the 1990s.

      The whole reason I learned to refurbish paddle controllers was because of Warlords. Man, I love that game. I can’t play the arcade version either because the 2600 version spoiled me! 😀

      @@GAMECLOSET First time player-1 paddle got twitchy, I started playing two player games of _Breakout_ and just used player-2 paddle. When that got bad, I bought another pair from a 3rd party. Later those got bad, too, as well as others that were handed down to me.
      In 2020, I read how to clean them and took them apart to do so; then I was able to win _Breakout_ in 1 ball to make Wizard (I may have done that back in 1980 when I first got it, before I got the logbook in 1982). Then they got twitchy again. _Super Breakout_ is just too hard on difficulty A with the little bar for me to score 3000+ on game 5, so I never even made Pro.

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  10 месяцев назад +1

      @sandal_thong8631 yeah, you have to clean them out with electronics cleaner and use specialized grease for electrical contacts. Just a tad. It keeps them going a loooooong time. But, I don’t use them too often. Last time I opened my original pair was about 18 years ago. I recently started using the grease on some other paddles I got and it’s silly smooth.

    I had a lot of fun playing Berzerk, even on the hardest variation. They solved the problem of multiple enemies having flicker like in Pac-Man by making sure no more than one regular robot was on the same row at the same time.
    I found I liked multi-screen or multi-stage games like Gorf and Phoenix. Vanguard had it too, but became too fast to steer on stage 3. The controls and scrolling for Jungle Hunt made that too difficult as well. Donkey Kong sold a lot as it was a must-have game at the time, but was disappointing by leaving out two stages since they didn't spring for the 8K ROM chip and used a 4K like Pac-Man to save money. Moon Patrol was good too, but again I couldn't get very far on stage 2.
    I didn't get any games released after 1983, except Crossbow which was given to me in the 1990s, but I couldn't figure it out until I found instructions on the internet. I'm sure there's some good ones like Pitfall! 2. I wanted Star Gate (a.k.a. Defender II) but still haven't got it. I'm told instead of going to the top or bottom of the screen and pushing the button for the hyperspace and smart bomb, you use the right controller for them and "Inviso."

      @GAMECLOSET  10 месяцев назад +1

      Wait for parts 3, 4, and 5… you’ll see some more faves. Unfortunately, Vanguard did suffer a little on 2600, I LOVE the arcade version. I think that thing had a subwoofer in it because when you went into the rocks when your energy was active, it made a heck of a rumbling! It was great.
      I can’t find my Gorf! I had 12 carts vanish in a tower Atari cartridge case just disappear when I moved one time…🤷‍♀️
      Thank you for your awesome comment!

      @@GAMECLOSET I played _Vanguard_ at a pizzeria once, after I'd had the Atari 2600 cart for a long time, not realizing it was an arcade game! It was a surprise to see that you moved diagonal. I didn't get far.
      Probably _Scramble_ or _Super Cobra_ were more fun at the arcade. I didn't get the Parker Bros. version of the latter for Atari 2600, but did get the former for the VIC-20 on tape, which wasn't very good.
      I also loved _Tron_ at the arcade. It's a shame that they did all those other versions for Intellivision and by M-Network, but not the 4-stage version of spiders, tank-maze, surround-cycles, and shooting-blocks.

      @@GAMECLOSET I will indeed. My older brother was so good at both seaQuest and Spider Fighter; that he could play until he flipped the score back to zero, therefore effectively "beating" both games. Quite an impressive feat; In my opinion.
