CC is the best passer int he league. She can hit 3s, and will get better at it the more she is in the wnba. Paige might be a better scorer overall or playmaker, but CC is the set-up queen. If she gets people around her that take advantage of what she does better, Indiana could be a monster. The wnba worships the most boring style of standing around under the basket and making those incredible 2 foot shots.
There are people who said Clark had a terrible all-star game because she only had 4 points. To her, Clarks assists are mostly just basic passes.

CC would likely not fit even though I think she would have been willing. Bluder allowed CC the freedom to play the way she does thus we saw brilliance at Iowa. Jordan was restricted by Dean Smith. Phil Jackson removed the governors and we saw the truly great Jordan. I don’t know yet if Paige can or will let her flag fly like that.
lol if page ends up scoring more points in the W it will be because CC chose ot be a passer first scorer 2nd , which may happen but in college CC was by far the better scorer , not even close .
It’s crazy to me that there are people coaching the game of basketball that apparently do not understand the game of basketball. No one who is actually watching the WNBA games this season can have anything negative to say about CC, especially after the first 10 games of the season.

@@quentelhill5074 Yeah, she is inefficient in her 3's and in turnovers, but the Team would not have 11 wins if she wasn't there. Her average for 3 pts was 37.7% in College, which is very respectable. That is taking into consideration that she often took the shots way past the 3pt line. In that case, that is pretty darn good. She kept them in the game when they went down 10pts or more. That is when she goes off and bring them back by the middle of the 4th Quarter to give them the chance to win the game. How many players in any Basketball team is able to do that??? NOT VERY MANY. You only want a reason to say something negative about her.

@@hollowichigo1023 I think it’s probably not to take shots like Caitlin’s. As Rebecca Lobo once pointed out we have never seen someone take as many shots from that deep and hit them consistently. It’s exciting and eye catching and I imagine countless high schoolers are trying to emulate her and are quite inefficient. I don’t think it’s necessarily bad coaching to tell them not to.

I can honestly say I know very little about Paige Bueckers because every time I’ve seen Yukon play she’s been injured the past couple years. And if I’m a WNBA team, I’m not hooking my wagon to that.

I like WBB. Have for years. I’ve tried. I’ve watched Phx, LV, Wsh, Atl, Minn, Chi, Conn, Seattle and of course Fever. I’ve watched the coaches and looked for players to enjoy and support. I’m done. It’s too ridiculous for me to justify ‘trying’ any longer. The coaches are poor and the players are nowhere near as good as they think they are. I’ve seen enough. I can’t see any good reason for cc to remain in this league. There’s a huge market in Europe that would open their arms to her. This league doesn’t deserve her. I was optimistic, but I don’t think 14 games is enough for them to change course. I know I’m done with them. I hope cc is too. I’ll watch the fever games, but I will encourage all around me to not even put in the effort to pretend they enjoy what they are watching. We only have 14-16 games left to worry about and we only need to watch 1 player. It’s time to move on, both for us and for cc.

I would not call those girls future WNBA players. None of them have proven anything yet. Even if they get drafted does not mean they will make a roster. If this is the way they choose to disrespect the one person that will put more money in their future pockets. They do not deserve it. After all the Golf purses went up after Tiger brought in the viewers in person and ratings, the players gave TW the credit. Too bad we will never see that from these caddy players.

I saw the clips and it just seemed like they were regurgitating the talking points of the espn former wnba talking heads. It isn't like CC shoots a lot of shots. She also passes a lot. Most of her points this season have come from drives not three point shots. She has been a driving force with her passing and the pace she sets. These girls should probably sprint 1 lap around a track. Just one 1600 meter full sprint. Then imagine defending a player that pilots the offense at that pace for an entire game. A lot of the teams in the W have held on to older players because of slow it is to build star power in the w. At least before this year. So CC is disrupting the status quo and may very well force teams to push out slower vets sooner or increase the roster size to 15.
Paige got a boost when fans were angry at the moving screen foul they feel prevented Paige from taking the last minute shot that they feel would have won the playoff game for UConn. Poor Gabbie Marshall took a lot of unfair heat for it. But fans should hold off on comparing Paige and Caitlin until Paige joins a last place team in the W and we'll see how Paige does. If she were to join the Valkyrie or the Liberty, the comparison would mean less. And it won't mean much anyway because so much of the difference will be intangible, e.g. will Paige elevate her teammates as well as Caitlin has? If Paige ends up with the Sky, we'll know the universe has a sense of humor.

The funny thing is, is that I think CC is the most heavily guarded player in the WNBA. Double/triple teams full court press. She is still thriving. Put those teams on Angel and she becomes unremarkable. The older players couldn't handle it either.

Why is anyone caring what high school kids think? They have far less knowledge and experience than college or pro players. CC shines best when she's being the floor-general on the court for offensive plays. She's quick about reading defenses and reacting to them according to the situation. She's also fast enough that if a defense gives her an opening she'll drive for the basket and leave defense-players in her dust. The reason why her distance-shooting is off for now is because Sides put her on intensive weight-training to increase her muscle weight, and CC has already packed on about 5 more pounds of muscle. The result is that she's not getting battered on the court as much as she was in the earliest games of the season, is playing more aggressively with her ground game, and is muscling her way into the paint for more drives to the basket.
Once she has her muscle-weight and strength where Sides wants it to be, CC can re-tune her distance-shooting and start nailing accurate distance-shots again. Until then, her constantly-increasing strength will continue to screw up her accuracy for distance-shooting.

It’s the UCONN worship effect. I like Paige and didn’t believe CC was her peer. Until I saw her play! Paige is good but is not as audacious as CC and she has a conscience. Sounds weird but that’s a huge difference. All the great players had this characteristic: Jordan, Bird, Johnson, Curry. These high schoolers are not the key indicator. I predict what we’ll see starting in about 5 years is a large number of point guards who shoot the logo 3 and pass like wizards. The younger girls are all in on CC.

Here's the thing. No one wants to admit it but CC is best when she is the system, i.e., the team is built around her capacities. What other player requires such effort? You can see it with the Iowa team and, in fact, this is why CC is the GOAT in terms of bring eyeballs to the WNBA.
Yes, Aja is good and Breanna is good and Sabrina is good, yet, they are players who have adapted to a team system which highlights them. At Iowa, CC was everything. She was the show and all the other players were bit players whose role was to support her greatness. You see the same thing with the Fever as Coach Sides tries to figure out how to use CC effectively, only to realize that she effectively has to let CC dictate how the Fever play. (Which is not a bad thing. A few times, Coach Sides has clearly told CC to carry the team and CC has suddenly scored 10 points or so in a row in response.)
I think CC is effectively better than P. Bueckers, but PB plays within the Connecticut team's structure, she has not required a revision of the team structure to accommodate her talents. It was different with CC at Iowa. CC is at her best when she is the chess queen, worth two of any other player and five of any bench player. PB will come into the WNBA and, like A. Reese, be a benefit to her team - but she will not be the star as CC has been.
People will debate whether PB is "better" and she may well be at playing within the system of her team, driving the lane and popping up for a mid-range shot; but she will just be the best of five players, whereas CC is always the "show" with her superior passing and deep threes with her teammates playing supporting roles to her.
Some will claim this is an exaggeration. I only ask them to watch early Fever games when CC was a "role player." Now, watch recent game when she is the center of the show. With CC, winning ball occurs when CC is the "star." (Better yet, watch the Iowa v LSU game. A. Reese was the best of several good LSU players, just one of the team; whereas, CC was the Iowa team, scoring 41 of its 87 points, dishing out 12 of its 16 assists, taking 2 of its 6 steals, and grabbing the most rebounds on the team. Most good players are like A. Reese, the best of many good players; whereas, CC is best when she is the center of the team, the eye of the hurricane.)
Most basketball players are coached to play their part, so they naturally underestimate CC because, to them, she is either "selfish" or a rogue player who cannot play "in the system."
CC is anomalous. This is what makes her a "star" and brings a tide wave of fans to the WNBA and why other players tend to disrespect her. She does not fit into the set mold, for better or worse.

I was laughing after reading the title, because it’s so obvious the ones that are saying that know damn well they don’t mean it. She leads the league in assists, great rebounder for a guard & her defense is improving every game. She’s already great and it’s only the beginning.

IMO she has not been the same since that ankle injury. She is not as quick running cutting and getting the shot off. During a practice I saw her dragging the left foot the step before shooting. Hoping the break will allow it to heal. Hoping to see her no longer passing up shots.

Majority of the girl's in the video you are talking about are going to south Carolina or uconn. They have always believed there way off playing is superior to any other style. Cc didn't let any coach change how she played the game it's one off the main reasons she went to iowa because they let her be herself. Its why cc isn't in the wnba uconn club because she does not play the way everyone else does. Arika has been dealing with the same bs her entire career because she doesn't fit there mold either. The old guard is threatened by the way cc plays because over time there way will be pushed out of the league and be replaced by uptempo exciting players like cc. It's similar to curry in the fact that coaches thought no one could be successful in the nba playing the way curry does and then he got his shot to prove himself and he completely revolutionized the game with his style of play.

CC22 is redefining what a point guard is in women’s basketball. She plays a different kind of basketball than other guards.

Even when her shooting isn't as good and her turnovers are bit worse than when she was in College, SHE IS STILL Breaking Records, and leading ALL rookies in Stats in most of the cases. Just imagine WHEN her shots comes back. They are going to eat crow when that happens. Her teammates were not that GREAT for most of the first half of the season....
