My husband and I had to save to pay for a down payment on our first house and I will not vote for someone who will hand over money to first time home buyers. All that does is contribute to sub-prime mortgages. People who cannot afford a down payment on a home, likely cannot afford the home. When they fall into foreclosure or short sale, the rest of the people in the neighborhood suffer the declining home values. If she continues with this idea, I will not vote for her.

My husband and I had to save to pay for a down payment on our first house and I will not vote for someone who will hand over money to first time home buyers. All that does is contribute to sub-prime mortgages. People who cannot afford a down payment on a home, likely cannot afford the home. When they fall into foreclosure or short sale, the rest of the people in the neighborhood suffer the declining home values. If she continues with this idea, I will not vote for her.

A home buying program exist in every state, always and still does. This is nothing new. Look into NACA, look into all the other home buying assistance in your state and local government. This is not new. It's always been around.
