- Welcome to my channel! In this video, I’ll be turning an Australian Beefwood bowl with a twist of accent and a dash of creativity. I’ll be using blue resin and oak dowels to create a unique accent ring that will add a pop of color to the bowl. You’ll get to see the entire process of turning the bowl, from start to finish, and learn some tips and tricks along the way. Yikes, I'm glad that the dowel kicking back looked worse than it was. It's good to see you back though, you were mentioning that you found yourself in a bit of creative funk some time ago; here's hoping you're doing well.
Yeah the kickback wasn't really to bad. But bad enough I changed what I was cutting lol.
Very nice result!! A quick question, I see that you use the vacuum pot for the epoxy; do you do this all the time? I'm hesitant to buy a pressure or vacuum pot. If the vacuum pot is sufficient, it has the advantage of being able to stabilize the wood.
What do you think? THANKS
If I had to choose between them I would go with a Pressure Pot. I use the vacuum to get rid of the larger air pockets, then switch it to the pressure pot. Oh I forgot to say I seldom stabilize my wood.

In a previous video of yours you mentioned a reason you use Acks paste vs the other abrasive paste. Can you elaborate on the reason for that please?
When I use the other sanding paste I kept getting a waxy film. Plus Acks is a small company and I like to support the little guys.
