Great play, probs would have traded all that clay and wood in for more dev/city resources at the end. Otherwise, good playing. Knowing when to drop the road chase is good
This type of setup is my favorite, super low ore, high flexibility with ports. Wheat has crazy value on this board! I love how you paced the Year of Plenty for a city, a lot of players make the mistake of burning it very early on something like a settlement or additional roads.
11:16 here you should be 4:1 for an Ore. or 13:16 here. 13:12 the block should be the 5 Ore. Yes blue has a city and 2 knights but they don’t have a port yet and are reliant on the 11 Ore. 18:57 here you could trade Sheep for Wood 1:1 or even 2:1 with OJ. Or 2 Wood for a Sheep with Red for the city. 22:22 here the block should be the 9 Wheat as the 2 Ore just rolled. 24:42 here you should not be using the YOP for road materials. Should use it here to city now. 32:53 here you 100% should mono brick.
If I were to offer constructive criticism for end game: I don't think you need to buy anymore dev cards after pulling the monopoly. I'd be porting down my wheat / brick into ore and passing, until I am able to drop cities down and just build the points out. The reason being: The odds of pulling a knight is incredibly high at this stage, and you have 0 chance at attaining army before the game is over. Orange did fortunately pull a VP where in most cases you do win this game otherwise, but you can close it out a lot quicker, granted the fact that you are holding the monooply yourself and don't have to fear having cards you are porting for stolen.
@@nickknutson157 Australia for this series, which is unlikely but plausible Closest I’ve been in this series so far is 14th best in Australia. I reckon top 10 in a month or so
