Avoid races if possible, when it seems like red is close to get the port then concede the port through table talk, races often benefit other opponents more than yourself (red even gave up rare ores to secure the spot). You 7ed out because you were adamant to race and then you don’t go for the 3:1 port, most times an early game 3:1 port is better than any 2:1 port because it is multi purpose and help you clear up dead cards. Try to go for an early city. What I would do was to table chat with red, “help him “ settle at the wood port by getting his ore while you try to settle at the 3:1 port, try to get an early city ( citying means you have doubled a 11 or 10 point spot rather than adding just 3-4 points of production, that’s a massive difference). You have the space here to take road anytime later. City, settle at 3:1 then dev cards would be a much better pacing and then you will have the production to take road and do other settles later.

tough 4th when you have 8pts bud - i would definitely try to get more out of your trades - esp when you have a highly coveted asset

you dont trade enough, you missed so many opportunies
your brick have a lot of value early, late game you could trade a road for a wheat with orange.
34:44 you should ask orange his wheat or sheep, both red and green accepted, tell him you dont want to trade with them, force him to trade with you
30:55 you just talked about monopoly, you have 3 useless wood you need to port it 3:1 and take your rare wheat. Wheat here souldnt be mono.
keep doing your good job with these vids

You need to table talk more at the beginning and make sure that wood port trade doesn’t go through with the other players.

@@RyanLutz-h4l yeah I was thinking over that. Those sheep and wheat trades (that red was low resource in) really tied it together. But is it really worth stopping those trades because then I’m just saying favor me over red. Idk maybe I’ll try some more chat there. Thanks for the feedback and comment :')

Think you should be trying to snipe red’s early trades so he doesn’t beat you to the wood port or by talking in chat to say they’d be overpowered with it.
A couple other mistakes imo. Should go to 3:1 on the 10 wood first instead of the sheep port. You overproduce wood whilst sheep is fairly low, in fact you never used the sheep port.
At 29:04 instead of settling the 9/12 you should be trying to port/trade for a 2nd city here as the 9/12 will always be there.
30:56 you just spoke about potential monopoly’s so you should be porting your wood for a wheat here most likely. And again here 34:19 you should probably port all of your hand for 2 wheat and an ore.
