You don't see it happen, but you're given all of the information you need to determine just how strong this attack is. All just by watching Satanael fire the gun, and watching the shell fly.

The game is waaay better. Yaldaboath actually sounds surprised that he lost to the rebellion of the world at the end. Where the Yaldaboath in the animation doesn’t seem to care at all.
I think the game was better in every single way. The sinful shell was done better in the game. I actually felt the impact when they used the camera cut in the game, instead of going into slow motion. I think it is better to feel the impact than to see the impact.
There is just something about getting to do the actual killing yourself via the game’s combat menu that the anime simply cant replicate. I also think it looks better seeing Joker pulling out the gun and then camera cut to Satanael with his right after, instead of backwards like the anime did.
Joker's voice in the game showed pure, unadulterated rage, so deep that it was more akin to a vicious growl, while the anime sounds like a typical shonen hero... I think you know which version is better.

The anime did two things right, 1: The motion of Satanael aiming and the bullet firing(I like more of the scene on Satanael himself) 2: Ryuji said "Yeet"
Saving the world in P3 from HIM was amazing and sad. Saving the world in P4 from that God was satysfing as hell. But sorry, saving the world from an angsty God during Christmas with an alternative version of Satan by an headshot it's just too epic.

The main difference, besides the lines, is Jaldabaoth's reaction. In the game, he takes the shot, there's a moment of silence where we can slowly see how lethal the damages are, then he crumbles with a loud metallic sound, ensuring the Phantom Thieves' victory before his final speech. In the anime, he takes the shot, then even before we can see the damages, he starts to talk then just disappear. There is no impact like the slow and silent (besides the bell) dezoom on his head nor the loud metallic crumbles. Jaldabaoth's just like "Oh, okay" and disappear in seconds. Never underestimate the efficiency of timing and sound effects

It is kinda fascinating how Anime reverced this scene a bit, with Satanael pulling his gun and pointing it, just to cut to Joker already pointing the gun, while in the game it is the other way around.
Fun fact, if you watch the Credits of the game, you will notice that many companies helped with the cutscenes including but limited to: studio Pierrot(Known for Black Clover and Naruto), TRIGGER(you know), MAPPA(you also know), and WIT Studio(Mainly Attack on Titan). Compared to one studio, CloverWorks, who had two works prior to this being a moe anime and co-producing with A-1 and TRIGGER on Darling In The Franxx. One was given around 5 whole years while one was given around two to three months. In other words: The Anime got fucked over.
There’s just no comparison of the impact of this scene when you’ve played the game for as long as you probably have. You just can’t make that impact and emotion in such a short anime.
Voice direction can make all the difference in this case. Atlus made the calls for the direction on the game's voice direction, and I believe Funimation were the anime. My guess is that they wanted it to be different from the game's take and just went with, well, this.
I'd be curious to see the scenes lined up together since it seems like the anime makes each cut faster than the game? It doesn't linger at all, especially when Joker says begone immediately after Yaldys final line, like he's saying 'shut up' in reaction to that instead of making a badass final order before ending the threat once and for all

idk, p4a kinda suck in my opinion, the proportion seems off most of the time and the fight against shadow kanji and so on are too comedic instead of being serious. kou and daisuke feels like the same person with different body, and so on. p5a just had bad animation and should've got more eps imo so it can fit the arcs better. the cgi was also well made
Why is the anime dialogue so much wordier? Both versions are basically saying the same thing, but the anime is just a lot clunkier and more long-winded.
Personally, I agree with using the All-out Attack, rather than Sinful Shell, for Joker's Final Smash. Though, I have pondered the use of 2 different Super moves for some characters, one beyond the Final Smash, the Infinity Smash (A guaranteed Instant Kill, if not Instant Win) Examples: Kirby would get the Star Sparkler from the end of Star Allies (Joined by Rick, Kine, Coo, Gooie, Adaline, & Ribbon [all his old allies against the Dark Matter forces]) Samus would get [Metroid Dread Spoilers] Pikachu would get Gigantimax Young Link would get the Fierce Deity (Like he should have) Rosalina would get her Comit Observatory barreling through Sonic would be joined by either Shadow & Silver or Tails & Knuckles in the Super form [maybe alternate between?] Mega Man would break out the Double Gear from Mega Man 11 And Joker's is fairly obvious, given the video.
The thing is, when Joker pointed the gun at them, we didn't know Satanael would do the same or even have a gun. So, in reverse in the anime, it isn't a bad idea when we know what's gonna happen next. T😂
