Animated cutscenes are fine because the original weren't hard to top. The ingame 3d model cutscenes, running animations, etc, it's just all P5 feeling and weak to me. We can agree to disagree that the game has some cashcow vibes. I completely get it, P5 has more fans than the amount of old fans over the past 2 and a half decades. They are clearly going to cater to you.

Tho imagine the first two games in modern graphics, with modern Persona systems added. We can dream. For Persona 1, I think they would do it around this time if they would want to, as Nanjo group is connected to Kirijo Group as well so would fit with the theme.
They have a really sad story in Nocturne as well, with you meeting Decarabia as an NPC who is going to visit his friend Forneus, who is the first boss. After you kill him, you find Decarabia in the overworld still looking for Forneus.
The only thing I missed about the old Persona is the fail to kill off enemy with the All Out Attack. Originally, when the AOA failed everyone who rush into the dust got pushed out, but they stand up and rush in again. That animation always hilarious for me. Too bad that got removed in Reload, I guess it was the director’s choice but I wish they still keep it.
Well, this what happens when you upgrade from RenderWare engine to Unreal 4 engine. That is right. Reload is powered by Unreal 4. In fact, kind of explains why it is easy to mod.
Persona 3 reload is my first ever persona game I’ve played. Tried getting into 5 but couldn’t bother past the first 5 minutes. P3 reload has changed my perspective. I’m obsessed. I love the aesthetic, the music, the story, and I love how they shoot themselves for their powers 🤣 it’s so subversive. Might make me get into P5 again
Persona games are generally hard to get into. You have to get pass the early grind of getting through story stuff. Personally, got into Persona with 4 (OG 4). Then went back to Persona 3 with Persona 3 FES. I tried to play Persona 1 but I couldn't get into it. Nothing against Persona 1 and even 2. Just hope they do remake them. Even if Persona 1 and 2 are VERY dark. Far darker than 3-4-5 together. And 4 does have some rather dark moments. Damn...may just play P4G after I finish P3R and play P5R for the 20th time. Personally P5 is my favorite as I like the MC. Then, again, P4 MC is great too. But, being bias as P4 was my first Persona entry.
The one thing I think I missed from the old fusion spell animations is that the character always did the animation by doing “the point”. I’ve always believed that it’s entirely on purpose that’s the pose he always strikes

Likely add story elements they didn't add in the original release. Sure people are salty, but if they educate themselves. They would realize that Altus literally used a whole new game engine to make this game. Something you do not simply plug and play and get rich. They had to rebuild the game from the ground up, mostly. Also, rumor mill claims they are doing a remake of Persona 4 within the same engine. Which personally. I am all for. Though I am bias, being I got into Persona with P4. Cause at the time it caught my interest more than P3's original release. Now though, I respect P3. The story is wild.
I think because in FES and Portable, Shock was the guaranteed crit status. That’s been moved to Freeze, so having a theugy with guaranteed shock probably wouldn’t be as useful. Then again they kept Jack brothers so who am I to judge what goes through Atlus heads?

Back when the original Persona 3 came out, it was considered one of the best-looking PS2 games out there. But comparing it to Reload, it looks downright primitive. It's amazing what 11 years of technological evolution can accomplish.
I hope for persona six to go a college setting route maybe with the protag as a detective and even use krensnik as the protag's main person. Since if the rumors are true black and white would fit perfect for krensik/Kudnik to be used.
Or Retake, Review, Rewind, Retell? But if it stick to the theme of "Finding the Truth" then it could be Realize, Revelation, or something like that with Re in front of it🤣

As such, my original comment was made in a way that assumes the feature is present in the remake, in the hopes that it really did, but alas, it doesn't, and the protagonist can only use "One handed swords"...
God why did they added that jump element to Shinji's critical anim? Kinda makes the sequence less unique since Ken does the same thing... And it makes it less badass since originally Shinji never wields his *two-handed* weapons with both arms
They were called fusion spells there, and worked a little different, you needed to have both personas in your inventory still and equip one of them for the option to appear

1:02 I really think Mitsuru's FES animation was better than the Reload one. While Reload adds a close-up to the character's expression and particles, I do not like how the movements stop at moments. It makes the whole action look a little bit generic. The FES version, however, cleverly connects all the slashes, with synchronized movements that Mitsuru makes along with a short, yet powerful stomp that serves like a finisher. While Reload makes more emphasis, it lacks the fluidity of FES.

The gameplay can remain unchanged but if the game has been RE MADE from the ground up, as in, working off of new code, built for a new engine and consisting out of 100% new assets, then it's a remake. If a game is built off of the original source code, and it just upgrades some assets like making low quality textures etc HD now, then it's a remaster.
@TimothyGod nope. A remaster is basically the exact same old game scaled up for a modern platform. The P3P port is a remaster, for example. A remake is an entirely new game made from the ground up, which is what P3R is.
I kinda hate the way the new battles all just look like they're taking place in a random hallway rather than a unique battle area, same with how clean everything looks, it feels too shiny and the top floor went from crystal/ice to Loki Persona 5
I miss Shinjiro's headbut and I also wish we were still allowed to use multiple weapons. I loved The MC's crit animation when using hand-to-hand weapons and wanted to see what they would do with that on modern hardware. Otherwise, I really love what they did with the presentation of this remake.
It would more fit in line if Ken copied Shinji because, ya know and for some people (me) I don't use Ken until after getting Shinji anyways since I wait until the last day for Tartarus.

While Reload adds a close-up to the character's expression and particles, I do not like how the movements stop at moments. It makes the whole action look a little bit generic. The FES version, however, cleverly connects all the slashes, with synchronized movements that Mitsuru makes along with a short, yet powerful stomp that serves like a finisher. While Reload makes more emphasis, it lacks the fluidity of FES.

The gameplay can remain unchanged but if the game has been RE MADE from the ground up, as in, working off of new code, built for a new engine and consisting out of 100% new assets, then it's a remake. If a game is built off of the original source code, and it just upgrades some assets like making low quality textures etc HD now, then it's a remaster.
@TimothyGod nope. A remaster is basically the exact same old game scaled up for a modern platform. The P3P port is a remaster, for example. A remake is an entirely new game made from the ground up, which is what P3R is.

I kinda hate the way the new battles all just look like they're taking place in a random hallway rather than a unique battle area, same with how clean everything looks, it feels too shiny and the top floor went from crystal/ice to Loki Persona 5
I miss Shinjiro's headbut and I also wish we were still allowed to use multiple weapons. I loved The MC's crit animation when using hand-to-hand weapons and wanted to see what they would do with that on modern hardware.
Otherwise, I really love what they did with the presentation of this remake.
