Incredibly beautiful house. Yulo calls it the Equilateral House, for which he received an Iconic Award, Best of the Best in Architecture, residential category, from the German Design Council last October 5, 2022, in Munich. Th e house is also shortlisted in the World Architecture Festival’s Building of the Year competition, taking place in Lisbon November 30 to December 2. Yulo will be competing first in the Built House & Villa category against a dozen or so finalists. If he wins the category, he will then compete against winners of all the other Built categories for the Building of the Year award.
Paolo Periquet, great job on this series. Bravo! Gino Cariño, good to see you! You look well.
It’s only great if Judith Torres likes it.
Grateful for pushing us to create the industry we want to work in. Thank you.
I am a fan of Design Seed, Never Too Small but finally, a concept or content for Filipino viewers is here in the Philippines. Now, my frustrations and regrets are growing not taking architecture and seeing this beautiful design and aesthetics in a home. Kudos to the architect and designer of these beautiful homes in the country.
Louder!! For the ppl at the back to hear 🤭 eme
I would recommend Design Will Save the World too
i got lucky with this video. i think youtube algorithm had better plans for me today, this is by far one of the best fucking projects so far
The design of this building is full of philosophy which gives the impression of being complex, energetic but calm and peaceful. Very in tune with the character of the designer.
Click agad dahil sa thumbnail, kakaiba yung design... Pini-figure out ko kung India, Malaysia, Singapore yung bahay Pero nung nagsalita na... Luh! I somehow heard a Filipino English accent kaya sabay tingin sa description at comment. Just wow! Arch. Yulo 💪
Here we go… kayang kaya ng Pinoy kung gugustohin. Thanks for watching and your comment.
Design of a horizontal and vertical lines. Jorge Yulo is an example of a good architect and mentor with a great philosopy and outlook in life. Great work Sir!
Every corner of the house is a work of art! Everything is done with intention--evoking an enchanting, other worldly aura without sacrificing functionality. In awe and in love with the woven details and all the whimsical bits of this master piece! Just WOW!!
We couldn’t agree more!
I love how you guys encapsulates the idea of the masterpiece in every scene. It is like you are inside the mind of the Jorge Yulo. Very well done.
The whole house is a Work of Art!
Agree!
I want that front door! What a beautiful optical illusion.
This atmosphere looks so zen and materials that will age so well over time. Perfect for that Philippine climate 😎😌
This house is a great example of honoring natural materials!
Met architect Yulo when I was still an architecture student. His works truly made an impact for me as an Architect now.
Love watching these kind of videos of local architecture. More episodes to come.
Wow, that must be one of the best things for one to hear. We will forward your comment to Jorge Yulo.
There are not many like him. Mad talent. We hope you make your mark too. Defend Design. We’re rooting for you.
Thank you for watching and for your kind words.
@@UncommonPH Thank you for that! I do hope someday my works will be included here. Thank you also for your kind words!
I see from the comments that this is a very respected architect. I admire the attention to craft, materially, light and site.
I think allowing the structural tectonic of the building to speak more directly to the interior craft-based tectonic would allow the ideas to have a bit more breathing space while allowing the exterior to transcend a more familiar tectonic.
Beautiful First Episode! Always a Yulo fan (would like to add/say mentee if he still remembers haha). Finally, we have a channel like this in the Philippines! Can't wait for more features of architecture and help elevate local design.
Thank you so much! We’re excited to know what you think of our next episode!
@@UncommonPH Can't wait to see it! Shared this in our school page btw!
Wow! We appreciate the support! Sharing helps us so much!
Kudos @UncommonChannel! Looking forward to your next episodes. Excited to see Infinity House soon!
For the first time in my life as an aspiring architect someday, this is the only Filipino architectural project I find that I can boast to the international stage. I salute for this man's ingenuity.
happy to see my thesis adviser here.... he likes MC Escher a lot and I can see the influence Geometrically on this project.
BRUTALIST house
Im simply star struck. You are the best Architect Gorge Yulo. Visionary with deep sense of knowledge and respect for nature. The Real Artist Architect.. God bless you. Hoping to see your many works of art houses.❤️
if you live in this house,40 yrs later, you would still be marveled
Stunning masterpiece...a monumental artpiece...gorgeous,gorgeous house...
Beautiful home
Oh my god that dome!
A great way to let heat escape!
It has so much character, texture and a story. I love it.
Really uncommon but very beautiful and fascinating! Love it!!!
We love this one too. Jorge Yulo is one of our heroes. It’s now a landmark where it sits. It will surely live longer than we do.
Thanks for watching and your thoughts.
Most beautiful house I’ve ever seen here. 😍
The house is so beautiful! The story telling and transitions are the best! I just wished the sound is more balanced, esp during some of the talk points so the audience can hear more from the architect.
Magnificent piece of art!
Beautiful first episode 👏🏼
Thank you!
The door! OMG the main door!
The exterior of the house reminds me of Orca designs. I super love Orca designs because of their unique exterior designs. Mamahalin lng talaga ang Orca but hindi rin papatalo yung sariling atin. I love how it's so industrial and very aesthetic din.
Each section meticulously made. Love it!
Captivating, Soothing
impossible not to say the heavy draws on Carlo Scarpa, beautiful
What a beautiful gate.
this looks so cool, so cool i can be an album cover, i love that brutalist-esque feel
Galing!!! Congratulations to the team ❤️
Many thanks!! Stick with us through the ride! You’ll love it!
It's captivating. It feels like a modern day museum and a house where you breathe art.
Unique
AMAZING!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Uau Amazing
the details are such 😗👌🏻 definitely top tier! 🩶
Oh, wow! The texture of the front door.
Ang Ganda Po kakaibang simple😊
This was really moving
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
We agree. Jorge Yulo is a rock star architect. His details inspire us the most - though we’re frustrated that we couldn’t capture everything for you in such a short film. Thanks for being here.
Great channel! I just found out about this channel through an article online. About to binge-watch all the episodes 😀
So happy you found us! Thank you!
Beautiful house, masterfully designed. What a genius! Surely a gated community but where is this in the PH?
I am in love with this beautiful home. I love the windows, the concrete, the wood! It feels like a museum in the best way possible. I have goosebumps all over with how gorgeous this is. One day, one day, I can have Ar. Yulo design my home.
Beautiful House design,indeed!♥♥♥
We agree!
at last.... something like design seed channel here in the philippines! i love it!
I wish to live in such a beautiful house! ❤
What a genuis and artistic design. Kudos to these architects and designers who are meant for this craft. Filipino Pride!💪 More power to this channel!
beautiful
Many thanks
Sobrang magaganda
I can feel the humidity
10/10
Everything in this house is a WOW 👏
Incredible! Great design and story. Beautifully told and captured. Keep it up, guys. Looking forward to the next one.
Many thanks! We’re airing a new episode this Sat!
Amazing. Truly impressive and Inspirational. This is capital "A" , Architecture.
Absolutely!
Love watching the debut video! excited of the next structures to be featured :)
Thank you so much for watching!
The Roman Oculus is amazing . I want a hole in my ceiling too. The angles are too sharp and prefer rounded edges of the Pantheon. Also lighter colors inside like the Oculus in NYC so it doesn't look like a crypt. Sorry but those beautiful gates, sharp angles and dark interior is very tomb raider.
what if it floods
@@jillipa Swimming pool or fish pond at the bottom
a effing masterpiece.
Yes, many people lost sleep designing building this.
Thank you for watching.
That door should need an entire episode for itself 😔
yes i would want to be a client for the oculus concept but i would put it a bathroom with plants under it and bath tub now that's sensual of art
well that is really uncommon
Grabe nabuhay ang dugo ko sa architecture.
Maraming salamat. Para iyo yung channel na ito.
What a magnificent build! I would not mind getting lost in this house as every corner feels like a creative nook. I am very much in awe but hung up on the circular opening on the roof. Where does the rain go? I know Philippine rain can go from a light drizzle to gushing. Does it just slash everywhere in the indoor living area below?
It is!
There is a catch basin directly below. So when it rains, a circular wet spot forms, but contained to that area and drains quickly. Remarkable.
Then again, Jorge Yulo is brilliant so all that was planned. He’s in Episode 6 because of requests. You might want to catch it.
Thank you for watching and your comment. Happy you’re here.
They're literally living in an art
I gasped at that grill door!
Take a look at Carlo Scarpa (who he probably got some inspiration from) and you'll never stop gasping!
Oh to be rich in the Philippines!
To be rich is one thing; to be creative, thoughtful, and unique are something else.
One of the most beautiful houses in the Philippines.
Perfectly symmetrical asymmetrical
If "the owners wanted something exciting", they surely got it. Brave architect. Had to be smoking something. Perhaps other architects should too given how many banal buildings are out there cheapening our view. Please feature more of his works.
This the house for ovethinkers! You can never be at peace
My only issue with the house is the pool tiles, for me using traditional tiles didn't complement the overall design, maybe an earth-tone or even a concrete slab (if possible) may do the trick?
Beautiful but this probably costs enormous that only the super rich can afford.
Hindi squalado or sobrang Squalado?
OMG
The house looks very complicated, dark and moody with lots of awkward protruding elements. It looks more like a sculpture than a cozy space to live in.
Air India
How much
who is the owner of this house?
✊🏼🇵🇭😍🤑
Its a sculpture house.
Anu un may butas sa gitna pag umulan baha sa living room? Dafuq
This house is really unique, interesting but also dark and for all the wood, still cold. And rain coming in living room? It rains almost every day in the Philippines! Sorry....deal breaker 😖
Nice design but it’s too dark… ndi pwede sa mga may depression.
Court lawyer uddhharee ignou yurop
too busy, it could have been nice, if it was simplified on choice of finishes
3D chess
Sorry, but as a retired architect, this house is an absolute visual nightmare. The house has no design restraint whatsoever and represents a total lack understanding of the design process. An architect with no concept of design restraint. A classic example of having too much money and too little common sense. What an absolute Kafka nightmare!
Lots of waste.... Too much bulk on the outside
This is a really neat and clean design, executed very well . However, it lacks the "excitement" of a house.
Very wasteful and too overdone. T
