We are soldiers. We are a special kind. A unique faction of human. It's kind of funny how this poem makes me feel. It's been a year since I took the decision to be a soldier. Had to go trough a lot; my girl left me, I left my family, and left my past in box but at the end i don't regret anything. Put your pain in a box lock it down 💪
This clip gets me every time. God bless those who serve, and their families. Our country is great because of men and women who choose to fight for freedom.
I come back to this from time to time when I need a reminder of why I do what I do. God bless you and everyone who’s thankful for men and women like this.
And those of you who disrespect these brave individuals who serve regardless of their own personal or political views, but because they love this country and freedoms we have compared to other nations... UNDERSTAND that you are only able to speak freely because the brave men and woman sacrifice and spill their blood for you to freely speak. Many of you who live in the country(USA)or other nations who were at some point liberated by these unselfish and brave patriots can simply leave the USA or act as if you would be free without the sacrifice... Please try speaking freely in some of these other places and see where that lands you ... -From a Liberal
and what i read was the guy who played this part who is a active seal was there when Monsoor jumped on the grenade and it was hard for him to redo the part...
Monsoor was attached to Seal team 3 and was also a Master At Arms. I know this because I’m in training to be a MA like he was. Everyday in the block of training I’m in we discuss his heroic actions and pay him respect. Hooyah Petty Officer Monsoor!!
Michael A. Monsoor will never be forgotten, NEVER...!!!!! I doubt the majority of us, would act that selflessly in the same situation. I would gladly, switch my life for his, I've squandered much of my life, thus far..... We need more people like Mike, and less people like me.....
I'm 13 but I plan to go in to the Army rangers to serve, you my country, my family, and my home. Some may follow but we walk through the valley an shadow of death, but we shall fear no evail because THE LORD AND HIS ANGLES ARE WITH US. SO LETS ALL STAND AS ONE WITH THE BROTHERHOD. FOR ALL MEN AND WOMEN.
I am 14 and I plan on dying in BUDS or becoming a SEAL and reach and perform to the best of my abilities and live my life in the most elite and then when my time comes to die I will have lived a life of danger and a life of pain and hardship and a life of suck and I will love every single day of it because that's what being a SEAL is about the suck and I want to fight for those Sunday mornings when you pass by a house Bbq and you see an American flag on the porch that's why I wanna fight to protect this great nation even when people don't agree with my decision SEAL TEAM the only easy day was yesterday
I have done some funerals for fellow soldiers and this is a true insight into the life of military personel. The physical and emotional aspects of this movie truly hit the nail on the head. Greatest military movie ever made
As a serving British soldier, words cannot describe what I feel when I watch this video, I think it stirkes a cord with every soldier serving their country! now matter where that might be, It is truely an emotional video to watch,I dont think any video I have watched has moved me so much!. I feel Tecumseh was a great man with great wisdom and that if people lived by this code what a great world we would live in " Sing your death song and die hero going home" R.I.P to fallen!
I know this is a movie but those 74 dislikes don't respect what our Armed forces go through everyday while we sit at home all ok this is why I want to serve in the military 💪😢
My uncle died when he was in the air force when i was a kid. Its bothered me every holiday knowing he isn't with us. When i join the navy i will keep him in my heart. R.I.P. Gregory Fritz
This hits anyone hard that have lost parents, sibling, and friends to war. It specially hit home for the children and grandchildren of former special operations operators. Those man gave so much for their country and did not ask anything in return.
I almost cried at this ending. Never before have I been so emotionally hit by such sacrifice on a movie. Goes to show you all the life they live and how sudden it can change. I hope there's strength in those families and lot of pride. Someone has to do those things, they risk everything doing it, but it is for the better. It's maybe hard at first, but pride will overcome the pain.
i love when people say i plan on joining ive been in for years i hope no one has seen what i have or ever the hurt ive felt loosing a battle buddy lives on forever the dreams u dream the stuff you hear never leaves you
I am a veteran and will always have my brothers or sisters 6, in peace or in war. We stand and fight to provide freedom for those who can’t or will not. We are more than we appear on the surface, we have the heart of a warrior, our loyalty know no bounds and our love of America is steadfast.
Hands down, the DEADLIEST WARRIORS ALIVE. Thanks to all vets past, current, and future. Thanks for killing the wolves and LOVING to visit violence in those that wish to harm us. As a US citizen, I AM EVER GRATEFUL.
this part of the movie hit home to me and as a veteran i am not afraid to say that i teared up at this part, my family dating back to ww2 has served and our still serving to this day, every single one of us carried the American flag like he did on every deployment or to every country we were stationed at. the flag has been all over the world to include europe, iraq, afghanistan, japan and its islands, bosnia, hungry, vietnam, korea, and all over south america. I hope one day i can pass it on.
Yeah, same here in Sweden... People very rarely give any extra attention to a soldier. Theres even been times when theyve gotten negative attention, just for being soldiers. Its sad that people dont understand... To all who serve, thank you for you service, I salute you, I respect you and I admire you.
my cousin's a forecon operator and recollects how his ro was ripped by an rpg trying to find cover. Still he regrets that he could've saved him. A married grunt never sacrifices himself for the medal but for the love of his comrade, and the hope tht his son doesn't have to fight another war..god bless our warriors..semper fi
I listen to these words almost each day. Whether we are soldiers or not, we need to live life and lock it down in a box. such courage, such love, this video always brings me to tears. Thank you to the USA armed forces for making us safe. I know I always get negative feedback from "men" but I am a woman who loves being here. I am Sioux Indian and love our freedom. I don't take it for granted. God Bless
i have a friend thats like a brother to me and id be wrecked if i lost him cuz i nvr said goodbye to my grandparents 10 yrs ago then if something happened to him it wuldnt be right for me
I would like to point out as the daughter of a U.S. Army pilot, sister to an Air Force member, and as a friend of many U.S. soldiers in every branch, this scene breaks my heart and makes me sob every single time because this is so real in every way. Even when life seems perfect, anything can happen on duty. I don't care how you feel about war, soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice that so many are not grateful for.
You know, many people have complained about the acting in this movie. This is by far the greatest scenes in modern cinema. I can honestly say by personal experience being in a military funeral of one of my best friends that was killed in Afghanistan, that this scene brought me to tears. Every member of our armed forces who has lost a brother or sister in arms to combat will appreciate this movie for the ending. This is why we fight, for the people besides us. R.I.P Klepto.
I served in the Navy, I have a very type A personality... Not a lot gets to me... The ending of this movie got to me... I cried at this scene and I'm not ashamed to say I did... Much respect to all my brothers and sisters in arms that lost their lives... Here's wishing the rest get home safely
We were standing out in front of Logsu Supply getting geared up. Mikey was there getting his stuff. He always had a grin on his face like nothing mattered , nothing phased him. Last thing I said to him was, "You be careful over there"... He smiled not saying shit. I just shook my head and smiled back. That was it. Hooyah Mikey!! You are missed.
"Sing your death song. And die like a hero, going home" Really got to me, I'm 13, and I plan to serve when I'm old enough. Thank you to all past and present service members.
Very sad poem/ scene indeed ! :( All soldiers are HEROS ! Stay safe. My congratulations to the Directors of this film Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh and the Navy Seals for making this film! It deserved several Academy Awards!
Rest in Peace, Michael P. Murphy killed June 28, 2005 after exposing himself to enemy fire and knowingly leaving his position of cover to get a clear signal in order to communicate with his headquarters. He provided his unit’s location and requested immediate support for his element and then returned to his position to continue fighting until he died from his wounds.
I just became a U.S. Navy Seal. It takes a lot. I'm only 19 but I have been on the swim team for many years and done Martial Arts sense i was five. You must have good grades all the way back to sixth grade. You must be fit and have your mind straight. No trouble with the police ever. I have an ability to speak many different languages fluenlty. I know Japanese, Chinese, English, Spanish, and French. You must pass many different tests. There are only 120 active duty Navy Seals in the world.-Ango7
One of the best mental things I heard was "There is only two ways i'm leaving. If I die or I quit. And quitting is not a option." For me this is all I have known since I was 5 years old. I would give anything in the world for it. By the way thank you for serving.
I live in a country, where soldiers doesn't get any respect or honor from the society and thats really sad.(Germany) I hope you believe me if I say that I got gooseflesh from the text your wrote. With people like you this world is a little bit more bearable. I thank you sir, for serving, you don't only do this for your country, you do this also for our all freedom.
the greatest sacrifice a man can give to his country is his life, the greatest sacrifice a father can give his country is his son, great sacrifices paved the way for our freedom. we will never let our freedom die.
im a kid/ future seal but once u look in the eyes of someone being ripped away from your , your life, your domain, and u know that someone was there by your side your whole life, you realize u only love someone when you think how much they love you and how much you needed them... but don't morn, do what he would want you to. I have opportunities, but i dont want money, i wanna know no one dies in vein again i cant stop that , but ill try my damn hardest to prevent it. i know my destiny do u?
Also did the same for me. Made me think of my father who risked his life for his team. One hell of a man. Im going to the marines after high school. Which will be next year.
the whole poem goes together. the " lock it down in a box" is a strong part but goes with a bigger meaning to it which i have got my own understanding of.
I can only imagine how tough it was for these real-life SEALs to re-enact this situation. Having to actually attend real-life funerals for their fallen brothers, and then re-enacting this so we can get a glimpse into their culture... that takes a special type of courage.
Please know you have the praise, respect and gratitude of millions of Americans. Americans that are grateful to all who choose to serve in the US Military. For your service, commitment and sacrifice….. Thank You.
My brother and i went to see this movie and i have never witnessed such a silence after a movie, really those few people at the cinema were so moved by this. I hope people in Belgium start to respect the military more when they see this.
Thank you to all that have given everything for our country. and to those who still believe in America. my prayers are with you and your family as you are away protecting us from all the evils in the world. thank you
this is the part i cried so bad..... i lost one of my brothers in afghanistan.. saying goodbye is always the hard part... this maybe a navy video but Semper Fi and a salut to all our troops!
i'm in army officer school and i recently watched this movie and if and when i go into the field this is the only way i want to go out, saving my men and not myself
one of 2 movies that will make me tear up. ive got a contract for air force EOD right now and then im going combat control, it hit hard for the same reasons. good luck in the marines.
My uncle said the quote in this movie clip but in a different way haha. He told me when he was in bootcamp, his Drill Instructor told him to throw his emotions in a shoebox, lock it away and kick it under his bunk. But the meaning is the same, and so is the feeling.
Being from a military family, I am blessed that many of them fought for my freedom. Meanwhile, I admire those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. They are, in my opinion, the real American Idols.
The last five and a half minutes make this entire movie worth watching. Makes me proud of these guys that are able to do this for their country, and it makes me proud to be an American.
“So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people....
I watched this movie twice and still love it. Because it shows the ultimate sacrifice the men and women of our armed forces are willing to make on a day to day basis. Thank you to all who have served, are in the process of serving, and future members of the armed forces; God bless the men and women of our armed forces.
It may just be a movie, but in the end, the reality is real. These men deserve our utmost respect and gratitude. No matter their branch, they are all heroes.
I see this as putting your emotions of war in a box and the emotions that come with it. I get when he says if you arnt willing to lose everthing you you already lost. Personal life will hurt you if your a soldier. Thats why i think i am perfect. Everyone thinks the military is about being a bad ass. When i actuality its doing the right thing no matter what and doing the right thing . So people who hant had the chance has a chance to live the way they want without controll like in othwr countries. And i am willing to help people not just to act baddass or impress but to give people a chance that never got one.
R.I.P PFC Jordan Matthew Byrd, Airbourne Combat Medic. Took his own life in the line of duty to save a wounded soldier. Use your wings of silver and fly in Heavens Army. Miss ya buddy.
This movie makes me cry every time. I worked with a few of the names at the end of the movie in Bagram. Once you've been to a ramp ceremony, you can't look at a flag draped casket and not feel something.
These are the true words of a true hero, because everyone can be a hero, because to accept others, indifferent of their nationality, whatever their source, is the biggest strength of a man!
FOR ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS THAT DIDNT COME HOME...THANK YOU.. THANK YOUR FAMILY..I MADE IT HOME. I WILL ENDURE TO REMEMBER YOU ALL..FOREVER.
We are soldiers. We are a special kind. A unique faction of human. It's kind of funny how this poem makes me feel. It's been a year since I took the decision to be a soldier. "Put you pain in a box lock it down" Single greatest piece of advice I've ever heard.

This movies depiction of an act of valor was when a Navy Seal named Michael A. Monsoor jumped on a grenade to save his pinned down squad on a rooftop
and what i read was the guy who played this part who is a active seal was there when Monsoor jumped on the grenade and it was hard for him to redo the part...

This is the only movie that made me cry.
BUD/S is a 'full steam ahead' kinda thing. 90% is 10% too short.
Watching my father present a flag was probably the saddest thing I have ever witnessed
This hits anyone hard that have lost parents, sibling, and friends to war. It specially hit home for the children and grandchildren of former special operations operators. Those man gave so much for their country and did not ask anything in return.
This is actually deep for those who have dead fathers who served in the military
made me cry
God bless!!! Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
But what is it that the group of SEALs shouted together? I couldnt make it out
I almost cried at this ending. Never before have I been so emotionally hit by such sacrifice on a movie. Goes to show you all the life they live and how sudden it can change. The diference is im working my ass off constantly to get in, when i get in i will succeed and bocome a SEAL
Brenden Whitham you a seal yet?
Beautiful speech....
The endind should haved been with the song Hero of war of Rise Against
“So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people....
Sonny: Lieutenant Engel!
Seals: Hoo ya, Lieutenant Engel!
If you can hold it together when he reads the poem, you're a pretty strong individual.
God bless every warrior living to die for something.
Lone Survivor was an amazing book ! cant wait till the movie comes out !
R.I.P Marc Lee and R.I.P Ryan Job Thank you for your will to protect our country may you never be forgotten
This makes me cry every time i watch it...
These are the true words of a true hero, because everyone can be a hero, because to accept others, indifferent of their nationality, whatever their source, is the biggest strength of a man!
I guess 9 people missed the "like" button
One of the most beautiful scenes in a soldier film ever...
