Thank you Hallmark for allowing this series to emerge to an audience ready to go beyond the typical formula of predictable programing. Great writing, great performances and superior production crew.
Thanks for doing this interview. This show definitely makes you think like a detective. :) I'm re-watching seasons 1 & 2 and noticing a lot of things I missed the first time around. Season 3 can't come fast enough. :) Yes. I would love to see Elliot's journal(s) published to know exactly what his was thinking about all of this.
So happy to hear your thoughts. This is my favorite of all time series. I’ve never rewatched a series over and over again looking for clues. Thank you for writing such a wonderful story. 🎉❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
WOW amazing show!! I've never been so hooked on a show and loving it more the more I get to know the people involved in it. You're great Heather and Alex, no wonder its such a special and emotional show
How cool is it to pick the brain of showrunners/writers/creators? That is where all the magic begins. What a fun, challenging, creative, fascinating job! As a screenwriter dropout, I love to see such two intelligent successful women, mother and daughter, killing it in industry. You go, girls! This show has delightfully highest-caliber writing, that of course, then gets to be well acted. I'm hoping we get to see why Dell is the way she is. There are so many deeply rich characters on the show. Here's to many seasons and many story archs! Screenwriters deserve to be paid way more than they do!
Great interview! You covered a lot of ground with your questions! I especially love that you asked about the Nick and Alice story. That story is honestly the standout for me with this show because it's so wild and bold and so un-Hallmark. And I can see that Alex is clearly a driving force behind it and I love that. I love that she's "giddy" about where that could go from this point now that he knows, because there is so much fun that can be had with that; even just comedy around the awkwardness of it. I hope they do include more of it/them next season. It's such a complicated, messy circumstance they put these two characters in and I'd be fascinated to see what else they could do with that. So, I'm glad to hear that there's a chance that's not the end of it.
Alice and Elliot time traveled to 1999 summer kick off. Remember Elliot reminded Kat about that last summer kick off was about 2 weeks before they first met Alice. It was said in season 2 episode 1
Yes episode 1 always seems to be so crucial. Colton also tells teen Elliot that he had a guy from town help him with the electricity. That guy turned out to be Elliot's older self. 😭 And Colton knew it too in 1999 but didn't give any hints that he knew that he had just met the adult Elliot.
Great interview! Do you also do book reviews? Because every time I watch a video I find my eyes scanning all the titles of your books in the background 😂
Thank you! And hahah I used to back in the day but they didn’t perform very well. So I stick with film and tv and my interviews. But I am a big reader! What about you?
@@kaymaldoMy absolute favorite book is The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain. That one has time travel in it and is SO good. I also love anything by Jodi Picoult, Kristin Hannah, Chevy Stevens, Emily Giffin, some other favorites are The Time Travelers wife & Faye Faraway. I could go on and on. I did love the Twilight series back in the day. I mostly read thrillers, mystery and general fiction.
I was saying when Colton recognized Kat in the car accident in season 1 I thought that was just a fluke of the pond being like, here have this one moment. While others thought it was the first proof of his time travel.
@@kaymaldo Ok, yes I hear it now, lol. I'm going to re-watch season 1 with the knowledge that Colton can time travel. I bet I see things much differently now. Thanks Kristen 🥰 Thanks for responding so quickly. New subscriber here :)
I hope that Kat's reason for going back is Thomas, I'm not a fan of her going back for Suzanna. I think it wouldn't make sense for a love triangle all from 1814. But some fans seem to think that would be the best. I personally feel it would tarnish the beautiful story that is unfolding with Kat
@@meljohns7146 I agree with you. Susanna more like a sister bond. Nothing more. Too many people falling in love with Kat. lol. I love the love story that is unfolding with Kat and Thomas.
@@marti8053 yes! I love his character too! I hope they keep him on the show for the long term. For Elliot to find his love. Possibly through time travel. A loophole for Nick and Alice. Cause I feel like Casey is their daughter. She’s were Alice’s ring around her neck that her mom Kat gave her. Like I said I can’t wait to find out with Season 3! 🥰
Why is there no mention of a Jacob Landry in the Almanac? There were 2 Jacob Landry’s. Our Jacob From 1999 and the other Jacob that was named after him.
Is Fin from 1999 supposed to be the same dog that belongs to Del in the present? If so… how come Del doesn’t realize it? Dogs don’t live that long. I am confused 🫤
She time traveled back from the present to mail the letter. She didn't mail it forward. She was already living with Del when she mailed it. She time traveled back about 4 months and took it out of the trash and mailed it. But it's a bit confusing for sure.
I'm curious as to how they are going to explain Jacobs disappearance to others especially since Del had him declared dead. Also what about Danny will he be in season 3 it would be nice to see the poor man get some closure and to stop blaming himself for Jacobs disappearance.
@kaymaldo I think Colton may have traveled forward. It would be interesting to see who his parents were and how he discovered the pond. In fact it would be interesting to learn how his grandmother discovered the pond and how she knows so much about it.
I think the way Elliot is explaining the pond is just how the pond works for him as an Augustine. I think there could be different rules for different people. He's not taking into consideration what could happen with other families/people.
How are you the same person who I just watched on the hallmarkies podcast after the S2 finale who ripped apart the season and didn’t actually seem to have understood most of it. I’m not a troll trying to be mean, I’m genuinely shocked that a person can fluctuate between gushing to the writers and dumping on the same show and the same writers. Behind their back you seemed to actually hate most of what they wrote but in front of them you’re full of praise. The other person did the same thing. It’s horrifying. On the podcast you were literally whining about S2. People who genuinely love the show should be doing these. It’s very sad. I feel terrible for the show runners. So disingenuous.
I’m genuinely not sure what you’re talking about. How did I rip them apart? I’ve always enjoyed this show. I may have criticisms at times, but I think this is one of the best shows on TV.

Amazing interview! I hope to see more Thomas and Susanna next season. I also love the teen Nick and Alice romance. So excited for season 3!
So glad you enjoyed it! I tried to ask everything I could think of.
How you match up the young and older characters was awesome
What a great interview. Thank you. More Thomas and Susanna would be awesome in season 3.
Thanks so much!

Awesome interview!!! I cannot wait for season 3! It’s been over a week and I’m still thinking about the finale! Lol
Same!!! It was insane!!!
Love the questions, especially Nick and Alice!! I'm glad that relationship makes her giddy. Lol hopefully we can get them together with a loophole.😊
Thanks so much!!
No loop hole needed. Alice can time travel back when she is in her 30s to be with adult Nick. She might even be Claire 😉
@pandabears7530 well, that's the loophole I was referring to. Lol
Côme on Kristen!! Holding us down while we wait for season 3!
You know it!!!
Its cery addicting season 3 cant get here fast enough

Is this video captioned anywhere?
Not at this time but if you click the CC button on the video you should be able to add them to read.
I sure hope you don't run out of places to go back to, as your fans are expecting 20+ years in this series!
I hope so too!
Except the “rule” was broken when Alice went way forward to mail the letter then still went to the past after that.
She didn’t go forward, I don’t think.

I thought maybe the grandmother was Alice with Cassie from the future. Not Colton with his grandmother from the future.
What do you mean?
I figured Colton was a time traveler since his children and granddaughter are.
That makes sense. I wonder if we’ll ever meet other Landrys from the future that come to the past.
I'm curious as to how they are going to explain Jacobs disappearance to others especially since Del had him declared dead. Also what about Danny will he be in season 3 it would be nice to see the poor man get some closure and to stop blaming himself for Jacobs disappearance.
😱😱😱
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Then, why couldn’t Susanna go with KAT?
I think maybe because sometimes the pond doesn’t take them anywhere if it doesn’t make sense.
I think because Susanna couldn’t go to the future.
Please, more Thomas and Kat romance.
🙌🏽
The male characters in Season 1 were great but pretty wimpy...then Season 2 gave us male masculinity of 1814! Wow, powerful. Thank you writers!
if people come from the future to the past, then why can't u go to the future?
I think they’re saying it’s just a theory so far. That Elliot and team need to experiment more.
@kaymaldo
