Finally someone who's talking about the n55 engine upgrades. I just purchased a 2012 335i 5days ago and have been looking for information on this particular engine . What mods would you recommend starting with from a completely stock 335i? Performance wise or exterior wise.
Honestly an upgraded aluminum chargepipe for sure first because the stock ones are known for blowing off which sucks 😂 you can find a BMS one for pretty cheap too, but a catless downpipe also wakes up the car a LOT. You can also flash your car via mhd stage 1 which will give you a decent jump in power too.
The first thing I did was put on a Jb+ and a burger motorsports intake on my car. Within a couple of weeks I blew my charge pipe. I would change the charge pipe first.I have an FTP charge pipe and boost pipe on my car.I am selling my JB+ for $150 as I have moved on to MHD, currently running stage 2 plus 93 octane. The jb± gives your car 35 wheel horsepower and 45 wheel torque, you can look it up on the burger motorsports website. I would put an oil catch can on as soon as possible. You definitely will need a new intercooler, I am running a six and a half inch VRSF heavy duty intercooler. I am also running a go fast bits diverter valve, catless downpipe and high performance coils from ECS. According to my Awron gauge my car makes 440 horsepower and 456 lb ft of torque at the flywheel at 21 psi of boost with all these modifications, so I don't believe Matt's car is actually making 400 wheel horsepower. The 300 horsepower and 300 lb ft of torque stock is actually at the flywheel not the wheels. I believe you lose 19% on an automatic and 15% on a manual transmission. Check out the BMW DIY guy channel his car makes over 500 horsepower at the crank which equates to 440 horsepower at the wheels and over 450 pound-feet of torque at the wheels.

Kevin Beganovic Yeah its all good! MHD Stage 2+ logs w pump gas shows 430 crank and 460 torque, with E85 it should be around 460. Then taking into account drivetrain loss you should sit at 400whp. Also power output varies, pwg cars produce less horsepower than ewg cars do, so if you own a 335 under a 2014 model year you got the pwg waste gate, which means lower power on a tune compared to an ewg.

Nope!!!
@@f32matt28 would this work on a 2014 f30, I’m worried about putting the cat less on and getting CEL on
I have stage 2+, stock exhaust. Cat less dp's, charge pipe, bootmod3, intercooler, spark plugs, bms intake filter (stock intake). Chicane motorsports KC. I'll be doing electric cutouts soon.
what rear diffuser is that
M performance!
Mine was dp was 400 n I have a 2011 so stupid how a newer cars dp is cheaper n mine was vrsf
Dude I agree its dumb
Older has twin because it has twin turbos.
*400 crank hp* YouRe mAKinG BiG poWeR
Its an N55, big power doesnt exist sir
Did the catless down pipe run up a check engine light?
Yes it did
F32 Matt interesting. Does bootmod3 clear that check engine light or is there another trick you have to do? Asking cuz I live in Cali so smog is really strict. Thanks
edgar barragan yes it will clear it
Great information!
What year is this car?
2014!!
Nice vid nice hat!
Thank you haha!!
Dude it's windy... Can't hear... 😕
I know I’m so pissed about the audio 😣
About 20k in sensors an other bs, i have a n55 with ps2 and its a money pit, at least its stick
N55 sucks haven’t seen one on stock turbo passing 400whp so I call BS on this, specially with no mention of ethanol blend
I forgot to mention the ethanol blend! Running E85 with FBO will get you 400!
That car is not 400whp not with that set up.
With E85 yes
Thumbs up and sub from Sydney Australia. :)
Thank you so much!!! Thats awesome
F32 Matt Another Sydneysider here. 👍 M235i.
Wind is irritating
I know it annoyed me so much, I honestly should of just filmed in a parking garage
He has corona 🤒😂🤦
you will have issues trust me
It takes…. 1 trade in for an m4
I have a 2016 435i X drive with Bm3 stage 2 with Evolution Racewerks Catted Downpipe, Evolution Racewerks charge pipe and boost pipe , CTS turbo cold air intake , AWE Tuning Catback exhaust , CSF Front Mount intercooler , Precision raceworks coils and I’m def sure my car is way over 400 hp and I highly recommend not going with arm or bms. Evolution has such better options for a affordable price
I have 2015 435i xDrive running ER chargepipe, Turner Motorsport carbon fiber cold air intake, VRSF catless dp and the same CSF (FMIC) and soon getting xHP stg3 tranny tune, Bm3 stage 2 93 tune and I am definitely sure its making more than 400 hp, no offense to y'all but people tend to cheap out on this parts and usually gets lower hp even though this engine is very capable but pure turbos and HPFP will definitely push the car upwards of 500+
Do over! Wind noise…..
Wind *wind* wind
Ikkkk it was terrible that day
Go to the shop... I did all by myself the charge pipe no problem lol
Nice video but the wind noise got very annoying.
Yeah next time I just need to go to a garage or something cause that was so bad
$1,449 + labor like $2k something
Real bimmer boys dont pay for labor bro
The wind literally makes your video unwatchable.
I know, I got impatient and wanted to upload that video asap. I can do another one pretty soon with no wind?
Quit crying. You probably stay inside to because wind makes it too unbearable
so u tell us what we need but not everything yeah right
It takes a arm and a leg
Right 😂😂
@@f32matt28 look up slowspeed on youtube, he used to have a 435i he built it to 550whp but gave up for a M340i idk ive seen 800crankhp on N55 so i know it possible, just takes alot of money
@@trapgodnah9022 SHEESH! Yeah ive seen some of his vids they are crazy
The wind sucks
Bro the wind noise 🤮
Lol definitely not making 400 whp on this set up 🤦♂️ come on bro
I can 100 percent bet he is
@@thicok4555 I have the same motor bro I would know 😂
@@wesleyshum8913 so do I I have a 435i so idk what ur talking ab
@@thicok4555 then you should know an ots pump gas map does not make 400 whp. 🤦♂️ stop tryna boost your ego by thinking it does.
Yea, this car isn't at 400 wheel
Kevin Beganovic Easy to achieve with E85
Kevin Beganovic Thank you for your input!!
Clown ;/
400 crank maybe but not 400 wheel I have the same set up btw lol no hate 🤣.
Can't believe this is considered a "phenominal" sounding car these days smh
Do you not like it 😂
@@f32matt28 not gonna lie man. Phenomenal car but not a phenomenal sound. I guess it's the turbos to blame.
@@MrAcMurda Look up the N55 with the AWE exhaust. Night and day difference.
Cap
