Recent sub. I really enjoy going along with you and your friends on these explorations. I like your down to earth approach - you don't resort to any of the standard RUclips conventions that are all too common in this type of content. No affected social media persona and no Trap music soundtrack, just some history and a couple of mates discovering fascinating, old places.

Thanks very much Ed! Really glad you like the explores.
I just like a good old adventure. The stories write themselves!
      Cheers for watching 👍

At 21:39 they look like zig zag harrows, we used to use them on agricultural land for making a seed bed, before power harrows were a thing. Not sure why they would be there but they defiantly look like zig zag harrows

Yeah just checked it out and it definitely is, although still weird why it's up there and how it's fused to the roof. Thanks for the info domrees18 😁👍

The first building you visited was the Command Post for the battery and the channels in the floor were for cables that connected the equipment in there. It was sited some distance from the guns so the shock of their firing could not affect the instruments in there.

The harrows have no connection to the emplacement and have simply melted in to the bitumen of the roof during extremely hot weather. My best guess.

Looking through some of my parents old photos, found that they had a bonfire in the gunpit in the early 80s when the area was used by the Hampshire astronomy club!

The guns mounted in those pits were 5.25", replacing the 3.7" of the earlier battery. The only surviving example of 5.25's are on Gibraltar and can be seen here ruclips.net/video/qhpFXGFgG7U/видео.html
