Julie, I loved watching you and Kelsey and the boys at the Estate Sale. The old bowl find was wonderful. Have you ever thought about why the tops of old bowls are so chipped and discolored? I am 75, and I remember way back when my grandmother cooked a large meal. After everyone finished the meal and cleanup time came. Mama as we called her would remove her large serving spoons from the food dishes and she would take those old spoons and turn them to the side and beat the food loose because she didn't have stainless steel the old aluminum spoons would turn green in the dishes. Back to the story, the hard tapping on the side of the bowls would cause them to chip and crack after a period of time. Then after all the spoons were removed for washing up, she would get an old clean table cloth and cover the table to keep the flies off the food. I just thought I would share this information with you and the viewers.
I love the braided rug in front of the fireplace but you’ll need a different throw to coordinate with it!❤️ I love all your treasures and I feel the same about estate sales..I love them but they make me sad. I also try to give a place of honor to these pieces.
I love estate sales too, and they make me sad. Sometimes I feel odd going through someone elses' home and things. I always whisper that I promise to take good care of their things and I thank them. Is that weird? Your daughter is beautiful and the boys are precious.
My husband still uses his shoe brush from when he was in the Air Force. From 1960 to now. I wonder if one our kids or grandkids will want it one day. It's nice to see you care about the old things.
Layer rug with a solid colored rug. Estate sale was really great. Such good variety, quality, clean, curated! You, Kelsey and the babies were safe and were comfortable in the home. Please consider more estate sales. You might find your old shoe polish tins in the store that doesn't price things. Be safe. Really enjoy your ideas, think about doing a book on your decorating ideas.
I remember when you did not decorate with brass. I remember when you begrudgingly chose to use brass.😊 Love that small pitcher, very nice. ALL your bowls mmmm-mmmm, they are beautiful. The second biggie, oh wow. I love bowls. I’m a bowl hoarder. The brown rug for now and fall, the black and white for summer👍 That was fun ❤️
G'day Julie.this is faridah from Perth Western Australia. The big bowls with cracks would look nice as a fruit bowl. Could even use it for Easter with lots of chocolates n Easter eggs in there. Or could use it to put onions n garlic in the kitchen. Lastly if there's space on the bathroom countertop ,you could place rolled up hand towels in there. These are some of the ideas.those massive bowls are gorgeous. They deserved to be admired near and not be placed high up that no one can see n touch them. That's my opinion 😁
Hello Julie and Kelsey ! What a fun Estate Sale ! LOVE THE BOWLS AND LOVE YOUR IDEA FOR THEM !!! I remember you getting your first Brass item…seems like it was something for your mantle decor… I was feeling the same way about Brass…a little iffy !! LOL!!! Now I’m wishing I had not sold mine at a Lawn Sale 10 years ago …..WHO KNEW ???? LOL!! Now to replenish my love for Brass , it is going to cost more ! I did keep my Mother’s pieces… I just can’t let go of her items 😢 I have a small collection of those Restaurant Ware Creams too! And the little single person creamers with no handles. Love them! I look for the ones that are all white or have a black design on them ( which is a rare find ) Black Transferware is hard to find. Ryatt’s reaction to the train is precious ! The Insurance Company I worked for for over 30 years is “ New York Central Mutual Insurance Co”….their logo is a Train ! I have many items with trains on them. My Father-In-Law was a BIG BIG TRAIN LOVER ! He was buried in a sweatshirt from my Company because it had a Train on it.. This was a wonderful video! Love seeing you thrift with your family. Wish my girls shared to love for it. Thanks for taking us !!! Love and hugs to y’all ! 🥰🥰🥰
Oh Jayne, I wouldn’t get rid of those precious things of your moms either. My dad is retired from the railroad so I guess Ryett gets his love of trains honest. Thank you so much for coming along with us. Stay warm and we’ll see you real soon 😊
Good Happy Sunday Morning. I really like the brown rug alot. It is country cottage looking with the layered look makes the size better. I just love all your decor. The bowls are great in that space.
Julie you have awakened the love of thrifting and old things in me. I had forgotten how much fun it is searching for treasures! Thanks for taking us along with you and sharing your precious family!
Loved the bowls!! Also liked the older pinkish bowl also! The braided rug is beautiful! I do like the black and white rug you have also, Brass candle sticks were pretty also. I actually love everything you bought. Your daughter got some great things also liked the lantern
Great finds! Seen a few goodies I would nabbed up too 😉. Loved the books! Braided rug was a great find. Would it work in your kitchen maybe by the sink? I like the size and softness of the black and white one. It almost gives it a designer feel & also a bit of color. Maybe a warmer feel is what I'm trying to say, lol. The lantern that Kelsie found is really nice! I couldn't help to think that the sounds and pitter patter of the little ones in their home would make the previous owners look down and smile. 😌🙏
I like the black and white better because the size is more in proportion to the fire place and it goes better with your throw . I love the bowls that you got and the brass is beautiful in your home. My favorite thing is the beautiful green book.
Julie I love estate sales my husband and I want to get started going back after 2 1/2 years I’m not getting to be out since we are elderly. I wanted to tell you that I am. 73 years old but my grandma and grandpa lived in Eastern Oklahoma and she insisted on keeping her wood cookstove and cooking and leaving meals out for the family who worked there on the stove and they got crackled like we call Crazed. Yes I was a kid once, when we would come from California to see them as kids loved it but if we hadn’t lived in California we probably would’ve had a wood cookstove too. I am not good at telling stories for sure. On this iPad but maybe you can, Move to Oklahoma in 1979 when we started going to estate sales we bought a wood cookstove for all of my memories. At one time I kept that stove in my kitchen but now we live in a smaller house so it was put on the deck by uncle Bill that strong wood so the deck would hold with ck
Julie, I like the brown braided rug...the black and white design just doesn't blend with your country decor, don't be mad, just love your colors and styles and that design doesn't give me the right homey feel. You scored on the bowls, love them, loving that idea! Great to see you get the shoe shine brush, that piece is going to look great with the polish tins!!!
If I’m not actually using things to serve food, I love mottled ironstone etc - it is gorgeous they way age leaves pieces with a special look that can’t be duplicated any other way. The same thing about a crack or chip - doesn’t bother me a bit and it adds to their character. That mark you showed on the bowl is an EARLY mark. The large heavy white bowl is an early stoneware - I love them all too. I think the brown braided rug adds that earlier primitive touch but I would remove the blk and white check throw from the side
Hi Julie what a fantastic haul you got from the estate sale.. I like the black and white rug in front of the fire, it suits the decor on your fireplace. Best wishes to you all from Tracey in the UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️xxx
The length of the black and white rug is better but the braided rug goes more with your decor. The pantry room with washer and dryer reminded me of my grandmothers in Scranton Pa. Great buy on the candlesticks. I think you should also try to get a better price on everything if you make a bundle deal. worth a try.
That was a fun video… love the old bowels and how you’ll display them. I love braided rugs too but I would leave the black and white one and find another place for the braided one .
Love the bowl idea. The ones you found have amazing patina!! The Ironstone was a great find. It saves time when you can see pictures of the items at an estate sale. This was definitely one I would have went to as well. You are my favorite thrifter! Thank you .
Thank you so much Karen! I couldn’t believe it was ironstone. I didn’t even notice until I was filming the haul for y’all. I got even more excited then.
Julie, just like you, I've never really cared much for brass but I've found in the last couple of years that I've added more and more of it around my house and I just love it
Great haul and I love estates sales .I would go with my parents. Thankyou for taking us I love the brass candle holders and the braid rug. I did like the braid rug with it be layered. Was nice to see your daughter and her two boys, They are growing up to fast❤️ The video was so relaxing .👍❤️🙏🇨🇦🥰
Definitely the braided rug. The black and white rug is more boho style. I would change your scarf on your fireplace too, to a green or tan plaid but I’m sure that’s coming with your spring decor! 😉💓
The shoe shine brush couldn't have fit better if it was custome made for the box. Great haul. The grands are adorable, i can see how much you love being a grandma.
Love estate sales, I was like you at first it left weird but you are honoring someone's treasures. Maybe I'm late to the party but I just found out Goodwill is franchised.
That was a great estate sale. The bowl with the wide rim is called a. Bread bowl. You make your bread dough in it. My mother and grandmother both had one. Theirs could have been larger.
In our area, we have estate sales on Fridays and Saturdays. The Saturday sales are half price. My husband and I go every weekend and have gotten some really good buys. I'm into decorating with things that are white. I love it!! I just bought a small white cream pitcher at the Goodwill.
WOW!!! Another great haul. I like everything you got and some things I saw on the video. I like the black and white rug, but when you layered the braided rug! That is the best! You should take each one of your son in laws thrifting with you and then your husband!!!💝💝
Julie I am watching you again this time at 5:39am. I am so excited! Coffee and shopping along with you Julie and your family 👪. Your grand babies are so sweet ! One day I'll showup.in Houston area to Eatate and garage and thrift and pray I run into you! It would be the ultimate !
Julie, I read somewhere that when you buy old books you should put them in a very cold place for about a month to kill any mold of other things that are sometimes present in old books. Have you ever heard of this?
I have a set of bowls similar to your dough bowls. I love the thrifter videos and especially seeing so many items, that are similar to what my family had. Unfortunately so much was sold or disappeared over time. The pieces I have, always keeps the relative close in my heart. Both rugs look very nice. the black enhances the white fireplace and the white and black throw you have in the bucket. I like the brown and tan because it enhaces the items on the fire place ledge. I think,I would get an area rug with more seinna clay brick and sand color for in front of the fireplace and put the brown rug under brown or cream table and put tbe black and white under something with yellow or orange or red or green or. purple or maybe a red plaid storage box maybe teal. You can play with black and white. The brown is very pretty and I can even see it under a plant stand of copper and red flower arrangement. Your home is lovely. Sea foam and assorted blues are popular also the new rose, fuchsia, purple, and corals tints are popular.. Do you shop everyday?

Oh thank you! I love hearing these kind of stories and it makes perfect sense.
So happy to see that the past really does make the items beautiful, and your happy face tells it all great finds .
I like the black and white rug because it coordinates with that throw you have on the fireplace. I also like the length of the black-and-white one.
Thank you Eunice! Yes, I love the brown but wish it was longer like the black.
I love seeing you use doilies under your decor. This was something my mom taught me.I think it adds another lov3ly dimension to your decor.
Julie, you have a God-given talent of
putting things so very nicely
You’re too sweet! Thank you so much 😊
I love the braided rug in front of the fireplace but you’ll need a different throw to coordinate with it!❤️ I love all your treasures and I feel the same about estate sales..I love them but they make me sad. I also try to give a place of honor to these pieces.
Thank you so much 😊
I really like the way brass adds color and class to decorating! Lovely!
Thank you 😊
I love estate sales too, and they make me sad. Sometimes I feel odd going through someone elses' home and things. I always whisper that I promise to take good care of their things and I thank them. Is that weird? Your daughter is beautiful and the boys are precious.
No, not weird. I pray for the families before I enter so I understand!
Black and white in front of the fireplace. Braided rug mid center on top. Why not? Best of both worlds!
Lol,I agree! No rules. Thank you Danielle!
My husband still uses his shoe brush from when he was in the Air Force. From 1960 to now. I wonder if one our kids or grandkids will want it one day. It's nice to see you care about the old things.
Thank you Betty! Yes, they will. They may not appreciate it fully now but one day they will.
Layer rug with a solid colored rug. Estate sale was really great. Such good variety, quality, clean, curated! You, Kelsey and the babies were safe and were comfortable in the home. Please consider more estate sales. You might find your old shoe polish tins in the store that doesn't price things. Be safe. Love the estate sales. This one was great.

The second biggie, oh wow. I love bowls. I’m a bowl hoarder. The brown rug for now and fall, the black and white for summer👍 That was fun ❤️
Thank you Marley!
The Golden Snare is a good read and a movie was made about the story. Love your kitchen, so beautiful 💕
Oh really! Now I want to look it up.
I think the brown braided rug matches your home and decor much better. It's so charming in front of your FP! Love it!!
Thank you 😊
All those bowls are ironstone. Except the last one maybe. All the discoloration is the rust from years of use and damp. So beautiful 😻
Thank you 😊
One of my subscribers sent me your way! She said I'd enjoy your channel. She was right! I subscribed. 😊
Awe, yay! Thank you so much 😊. I’m so glad you stopped by.
Hey Julie and Kelsey love both of your finds. I like the braided rug. The boys are so good when you are shopping. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
The two brown rugs together look better than the black and white rug. Nice haul
Thank you 😊
The country cottage rug matches better with everything in your living room.
Thank you 😊
G'day Julie.this is faridah from Perth Western Australia.

That was FUN!!! That old bowl screamed mashed taters to me….you know, back in the day.. GREST video and haul!! BLESSINGS!!!
I think brown rug fits style better. The black and white feels modern bohemian to me

As always, we love your videos looking forward to seeing more lovely to see your grandbaby and your daughter along 15❤❤❤
I liked the black rug in front of the fireplace much better. You've inspired me to makeover my kitchen

The black and white rug looks great

I like the brown rug but take the black and white cover of your fireplace and get a cream on to go with the rug love the old bowls 🤗
Thank you 😊
Love the Crockery bowls, I have a few, most are blue ( yes I’m a blue gal). I so enjoy watch you and family thrifting adventures.
Thank you Kate! Blue is growing on me too!
Just now watching this one. The b&w rug looks better. Complements the decor.
The length of the black and white rug is better but the braided rug goes more with your decor. The pantry room with washer and dryer reminded me of my grandmothers in Scranton Pa. Great buy on the candlesticks. I think you should also try to get a better price on everything if you make a bundle deal. worth a try.
Thank you Carol. I know. I wish that rug was longer too! And yes, I try to make deals lol.
Love your haul you got some good things. Your home is decorated so lovely.

That was a fun video… love the old bowels and how you’ll display them. I love braided rugs too but I would leave the black and white one and find another place for the braided one .
Thank you 😊
Love the bowl idea.

Love all the finds, I think Kelsey and I have a lot of the same taste
Thank you 😊 she has good taste.
I like the black rug better against the fireplace
Thank you 😊
Definitely the braided rug. The black and white rug is more boho style. I would change your scarf on your fireplace too, to a green or tan plaid but I’m sure that’s coming with your spring decor! 😉💓
I think the layered rugs were pretty.
Thank you 😊
The shoe shine brush couldn't have fit better if it was custome made for the box. Great haul. The grands are adorable, i can see how much you love being a grandma.
Thank you Arlene! I thought the same thing on how perfect that brush fit.
Love estate sales, I was like you at first it left weird but you are honoring someone's treasures. Maybe I'm late to the party but I just found out Goodwill is franchised.
I like the brown rug layered look.Definitly more cottage.
That was a great estate sale. The bowl with the wide rim is called a. Bread bowl. You make your bread dough in it. My mother and grandmother both had one. Theirs could have been larger.
Thank you Jade! Y’all help me so much.
Oh my gosh that navy blue Tupperware canister!!!
Beautiful wasn’t it?
I love the black and white rug!
Thank you 😊
I too collect white tea pots. I love your taste! I also find estate sales sad.
Thank you Linda! Yes, that would be fun!
I’ve heard this but I don’t do it. I inspect the books the best I can to make sure they’re ok.
I loved the old bowls!! They remind me of my grandma!!! What I would give to have them today!!!
Julie. I like the black and white rug to match the fire screen and your accents. The bowls you found are great!!!
I love old bowls also, mine have chips and cracks, there are some from my mother and mother in law. My mom passed away 3yrs ago at 98.
Yes, I love all the old bowls. How sweet you have some of your moms and mother in laws. Even sweeter.
Looks country cozy right there
The baby's are so darn cute 😍 💓 I just love them ❤ 💕 thank you for sharing this with everyone ❤
Just love how you style items!
Thank you 😊
I like to use the brushes for picture holders. You just tuck them in the bristles and you get to enjoy them thought you’d like the idea.
Love the braided rug in front of the fireplace.
