As someone who got Diamond during his placement matches (despite a win record of 50%), I feel Max's pain of trying to climb the ranks. It's brutal at how good the players are now!
I believe every time Max plays SF6 he ain't never backin' down, for his city for his town. He goes and gets the crown, he goes another round. To the top, he sees the sights, he sees the sights he sees the sights.

Ken's an absolute monster in this, His rush down and buttons are so oppressive. You can tell Max is way more invested in these matches he's walking into the lion's den with Ken.
He definitely is. Arguably top 3. Definitely top 5. I have noticed Big Bird's Marisa takes Angry Bird's Ken lunch money 8 out of 10 times, and Max really struggled against her in the video. Maybe she the one bad matchup for him?

This is the first SF game that I play online. I've tried SF4 and 5 but damn it was bad, the lag was awful. SF6 has great online and I'm really enjoying it. Getting my ass kicked most of the time but every time I lose I really feel like I've learned something. Always love seeing you play Max, wether it's fighting games or Soulslikes

I actually don’t get accidental specials in this game very often which is really weird, because I’d get em all the freaking time in 3rd Strike. And considering how much more strict 3rd Strike’s special timings are, you’d think it’d be the opposite. I do accidentally launch a super 3 with Juri at full screen when I’m trying the buffer a charge kick every now and then, but like, that I get lmao.

I feel like Plat 5 is one of the heaviest ranks out there. Full of the ones that are so good at fundamentals they placed Diamond and got knowledge checked back into Plat, and the ones who've worked their way from lower ranks and up through that grueling Plat 1-4 section and gained skill and knowledge there. Also, gotta love that respect. "Oh wait no, I don't have enough life, that's Marisa."

Max, if you're against a Marisa and she's doing Mp Mp into fully charged gladius, just grab. Just like DI, armored moves are beaten by going any grabs.
That is part of the Gladius mix thou. You can grab a fully charged Gladius but an uncharged Gladius combos and a Superman Punch is airborne. So if grab a fully charged Gladius, a good Marisa will mix in what comes after MP> MP so that a grab attempt is a risky punish.
@@ruga-ventoj Well the Marisa will probably mix it up you're right. That's why I said if they're doing it into fully charged gladius. Max didn't seem to know how to stop the move from coming out. I also think he can dp EX DP to beat that mixup altogether but idk, I'm not crazy good at the game

The timing of the two moves make it hard to tell which will happen. There is also a Marisa mix here where she can use her Ex Guard Stance and tank the DP with the two layers of Armor Ex gives. From there Marisa has a Turn to combo. Now this is a risky move because the stance can be best with a Grab, like you suggested earlier. So the game of RPS gets another layer of RPS lol. For a Juggernaut, Marisa has a surprising amount of mix in her kit and people keep finding it. There are not a lot of pieces but there are alot of layers to work with. It's very interesting. Like making the most out of the least amount of tools.
Ken looks so fun in this game. But it's so frustrating how versatile he is when you play against him. love your very low drive usage style then going for massive combos on punish counter with level 3.
Max if you want to link level 3 after jinrai combo in the corner, you have to use the medium version, not the light one, and you don't have to use shoryuken if you want to see the cinematic to deal more damage. Anyway good video as always. I really like your content! :D

This is the first fighting game i've played and I just hit Gold 5, my opponents are honestly way more mechanically capable than I am so i'm not sure how i keep winning, but i'm having a lot of fun. I haven't even figured out how to incorporate drive rush or have a good B&B combo yet

While playing Ken it's better to use the Helicopter Kick as a super while pinning your opponent to the wall. The Dragon Punch super seems to have a frame delay an you whiff when trying to chain it.
I have noticed that SF6 does not tolerate messy input as much as 5 did. You have to be quite a bit cleaner and tighter to get everything to come out right.
I'm not saying I hate modern controls, I'm just saying one of the few I've seen in platinum/gold was also the first teabagging I've experienced in SF6.

How the hell does Max get all these neutral DIs to connect in plat 5? It seems like in gold 5 everyone I run into just always counters them.
They're probably checking you with special cancellable moves so it's easy to react a DI but from complete neutral is not that easy.
