I discovered Maximilian a couple of months ago. Thanks to him I decided to give another go at fighting games. I was a huge fan and player of fighting games in the mid-90's. Then stopped playing in early 2000s to never really come back to that genre. Until recently. The Dood's passion is infectious and I thank him for it. I've been having so much fun learning SF6 lately. I'm currently Iron, slowly making my way up to Bronze. A noob dood for sure. But it's been so much fun to come back to the fighting games genre. My 40yrs old ass is happy.
I definitely _feel_ the difference between when he was "making the journey up the ranks" between this game and SFV. It's so tangible it hurts. There's no _misery_ here. There's no feeling like he's doing this out of an obligation to people, or that he just has other things to do while playing. Here, the exchanges are so lively. His commentary informative at times, with nary a word of lag or netcode. This, right here, is all someone needs to advertise the online functionality of the game. It's not perfect, but when "it's so good that it doesn't need to be addressed", that's as good as it gets, right there. Glad to see Max enjoying himself.
Agreed. Pretty much all you ever hear about SFV's ranked grind is how miserable it is. I remember watching videos of Brian_F or MDC_Jimmy playing for hours in SFV Ranked, getting smurfed, lag in almost every match, rollback doing it's best delay-based netcode impersonation, and after 2 hours they'd stop, having lost 100 points and obviously angry and frustrated. SF6 grind, on the other hand, more often looks like this. 'nuff said.
Never imagined I would ever watch an hour of Street Fighting without even getting bored. Love your content, your gameplay and your attitude during your games, it's just so pleasing to watch !
Wait the Luke that ended your streak was an old school super smash bros. Melee player, Falcomist. Did not expect to see an old melee head playing SF6, let alone in a Max video
1:39 "We're going to put him in a situation where he has to make a big call." Max may not be pro-tier, but this kind of "thinking two moves ahead" strategy is something to see.
I've been watching for a while now, since about 2014ish, a buddy of mine got me into Marvel 3, so naturally I found this channel, and fell in love with SF3 series, and then dabbled in U4, and then was so excited SFV was going to be my first Street Fighter, and got burned BAD, I didn't want to buy 6 cause of it, and I didn't for sometime, but I picked it up a couple days ago after watching these vids and good golly is it awesome. Single player feels a bit tacked on, and I still don't like that the game is really 100 dollars plus when other seasons come out, but I get it and I freaking love the game. I wish this experience was what I had with 5, would have been peak of my childhood (as far as games go) now I'm an adult but still. Thanks for spreading the love of fighting games dude.
Ken really should be my most hated character to go against after the OCEAN of Kens in ranked. With all the Hadoken spammers and guys that leave after the first loss. But man is he fun to watch in the hands of a good player. Loved every single match in this video (and the ones before).
That’s the thing: I feel like Ken collectively is a character we pair with memories some of our worst matches or most annoying matches… but that cannot stop the character from having sauce
I am so bad at this game but it’s so much fun. Started off with Blanka but he’s so hard! He’s a charge character with no true projectiles. Rather, he IS the projectile. His moveset is overwhelming for a noob like myself so I’m switching to a shoto just so I can get more comfortable with the basics.
RIP Denson PIANO DENSETSU Taylor III. You will be missed. Thank you for being a good person. All of us in the FGC really appreciated your positivity. And we will continue to do so.
awesome, I'm new to sf6 and seeing what's possible in videos like these is very helpful once you start understanding basics, this is next level tho and it'll take me years to get remotely close to it, but that's what it is, time invested must count for something
I know they say this isn't an hour long of freak fights...but SF6 characters ARE freaks even the ones that aren't custom crafted you just have to view them from a certain view! This though is fantastic and what Street Fighter 6 is truly about!
It's weird I'm addicted yet getting so frustrated with a lot of matchups. I'm at a point where over half the cast make me groan when I see them on the Vs screen. I feel like I'm getting reaction tested to death most of the time and the corner is straight up death playing as Lily.
@@dj_koen1265 I'm vibing with the game a lot especially Lily. I spend most of my time in battle hub which can result in some very skewed matchups where I play people way better than me so sometimes a matchup feels a lot worse than it is.
Sorry to say this but a lot of these diamond rank players are actually frauds. They got to that rank strictly through abusing their character's gimmicks and then fold against players who can utilize universal fighting game mechanics. JP case in point.
As a Manon main, that fight was painful. They had so many easy command grab and CA/L3 Super opportunity but did nothing. They had an easy win but said nah.
Ken is my main and getting fireball instead of DP after dragon lash is my kryptonite. It’s relieving to know when higher level players do the same thing from time to time
If you do move into drive impact and it's a true blockstring with no gap then it will not wall splat since you can't reversal or jump out of. This is the games way of making sure ppl can't just do very plus move into free stun
It looks like old tracks will be releasing through the battle passes, although a jukebox like T7 would be much better. Imagine 3rd Strike tunes over this bad boy.
Question? What is the purpose of a win streak? Shouldn't it give progressively more point after a win the hight the win streak goes? Like 1 more point for every streak win? Seems like a mega tedious endeavor
You get huge boosts for win streaks at lower ranks, once you get like 5 or so you get up to like 200 or something. This is my first time noticing the lack of points at diamond, because I'm silver 3 lol
when you reach platinum, the winstreaks stop counting towards you're point gain. The reason for this is probably because from iron-gold, you cannot be deranked into the previous league. Whereas once you hit platinum, you can be deranked to gold. So platinum is effectively the "kid gloves" coming off, so you must rank up on merit alone. And yes it is tedious. But it's only month 1. It shoudn't be a race to the top for majority of players.
When you're used to the adrenaline rush from playing fighting games (especially at a high level), you become more calm and confident in what you're doing

Watching Max's Ken is such a relief from the spamming quit immediately Ken's I've been seeing so far lol.
What rank are you?
23:30 the combo works. You just have to prolong the second kick just a tad longer. It's about a 50% combo.
God that drive rush to back walk so the gief wiffed his grab. Dirty. Love it.
Scrolled to far not to see this comment, it was awesome
You’re in rare form Max. Don’t drop this game.
The only thing Max is afraid of on Manon more than her command grab is her slide.
A whole HOUR of SFVI ranked gameplay??!! We want an hour-long Freak Fights!!!
Just kidding, this is great. 🍿🍿🍿
"Just kidding" NU UH
why not both?

a lot of smash veterans started playing sf6. some even make videos explaining how great sf6 is to jump into as a smash player.

Max calls himself more of a casual players nowadays but his fundamentals are so strong, it's really impressive.
well he plays these games for over 25 years now
Man that JP needed to use his setups. He just never used tele, never used his mid pokes. Get your mixup game in there and you got it my guy.
Can we talk about how cool that Ken vs Luke was in the prequel comic, this is like a salty runback
That punish HK into KX2 is gonna take awhile to remember
