Another good race close by is River of no Return just south in Challis. That one is about 70 miles or 108k. No crazy talus fields on that one and the average elevation is a bit lower, although you still top out close to 10k.

    Great video. You mentioned something as you were entering the cut out aid station about swelling / puffiness due to too much electrolytes in your system. Would you consider doing a video along the lines of recognizing what your body is telling you during runs; especially longer runs? I'm just getting into longer distance running and I wouldn't have put my swelling hands together with a hydration imbalance, I'd have just thought it was from swinging them back and forth. Consequently I wouldn't have known to switch to straight water for a section to correct it. I'm sure there are many other things that I and other runners either don't recognize or mis-read and don't take corrective action on. I appreciate your content. Thanks

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +2

      Hi Mike, thank you! That is a great suggestion... However, it is a really difficult topic to cover as it is so dependent on the individual. Some of it can be covered in generalities, so I will definitely think about this. To get started, I would highly recommend reading Relentless Forward Progress. It has some great information regarding hydration, nutrition, and electrolytes, and even has a nice chart!
