The pessimism about Roman and what our passing game might look like is countered by the fact that Harbaugh seems flexible and willing to change if things weren't working. Staley was rather fixed, and only changed once things got so bad everybody was calling for his head or his OC's head (Lombardi).
As excited many Charger fans were when Brandon Staley was hired the truth was that he was so not ready to be a head coach in the NFL. Case in point, look at the quality of coaching staff Harbaugh has assembled versus the crap that was assembled under Staley. Proof is the offensive line… whenever Cory Linsley was out of the lineup the play of the Oline fell off so, so much. Justin Herbert’s injuries are directly attributable to poor coaching. That leads to who actually is responsible for the “lost years” we’ve just experienced. That person is John Spanos, President of Football Operations!
Hortiz is the opposite of Telesco, the ravens could never draft a WR but they were great at drafting OL in later rounds while telesco sucked at drafting OL late, and he did hit on a few WR even though QJ was a big miss (while Baltimore’s one WR hit was right after that horrible pick…) anyway the point is we should go WR at 5. Or trade back
