Behind the Scenes with Pharmacy Technical Services

Have you ever wondered how chemotherapy drugs are put together or what goes on in one of those grey metal buildings at the back of the Treliske site? Members of our Pharmacy Technical Services team have the answers. In this video they’ll walk you through the often hidden process of how chemotherapy drugs get from the point of prescription, through to assembly and production and then back to the ward ready to be received by the patient.

This is so cool I love everyone’s accents! I’m Mexican-American and a Senior Pharmacy Technician from Chicago. I had no idea your pharm techs are called Senior Assistant Technical Officers. Very interesting thanks for sharing this with us all. Perhaps I will move to the UK someday.

They aren't. We have ATOs, SATOs, Student pharmacy technicians, Pharmacy technicians, Senior pharmacy technicians and Lead/chief pharmacy technicians.
