Daniel had a lone Vulture baby in an old shed type building on that property where they’re building the warehouse. It was pretty scary just like yours. About the rats - that’s why you’ve got owls. They’re catching & eating the rats.
Kevin. I love how you never quit. Now it’s owls and rodents but I remember you looking for your lost knife with a magnet in the lake and hunting for your missing GoPro. Your curiosity and love of nature is refreshing. Kevin has no QUIT!
Hey y'all It's definitely a Great horned Owl I've had a family of them on my property for over 15 years . They come back each year to have their owlets and I have three families of them over just 2 acres. I live in Southern Coastal North Carolina and we have Bald Eagles all over around here also . I love that y'all are such Great Stewards of all Animals. God Bless Y'all 💯 🙏 ❤ 🇺🇲
Like I said in an earlier comment, in the video showing the owl in the tree,I clearly saw the "horns" so I agree with the app that they are great horned owls. We used to have one in our neighborhood. Good luck with your traps. Love all of your videos.
Hey Kevin, my Ranger Friend taught me about this begging call. The male takes the kids off aways . He watches over them for a bit at there new home. Then He leaves. We would listen to them call for there parents who were sittinging in her back yard 😂. So basically they are there to stay . They have plenty of food(rodents) and Forest to live in🥴 I hope your experiment works🌞! Everything loves the Home you've made them🤭. JO JO IN VT 💞
The sounds of the birds chirping in the background while you were putting out. The traps reminds me of when I was a little girl and I would wake up very early on a summer day and I would go out onto the backyard and swing on my swing. Set underneath the weeping Willow tree.
I agree with Merlin. I'm a birdwatcher . Be careful with the rats, especially when you release them. They will bite and maybe even jump and bite. You don't want to get bitten. Lightning can get you confused trying to identify a bird. A good bird book can help you but you may not have time to read it. Audubon Society and or Golden, a guide to field identification Birds of North America. I am as anxious as you are. Great video again Kevin. Good luck. May the Lord continue to Bless you and your family and your critters 🙏🙏 Peace 🕊️ Love from Maryland ❤
I volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center where there were great horned owls that I handled. They are quite large and have amazing claws & strength. Don't be surprised if your traps get destroyed.
Owls are one bird that I really enjoy. I really hope you get some great video or photos of them. Eagles are beautiful birds also. Now that I'm thinking about it I just love birds of all kinds. I do love owls. There are so many different types of owls, each are fascinating in their own ways. Fingers crossed that this is a success and the squirrels don't go for the nuts.
Good luck Kevin, i hope you get the owl on video. It would be so cool to see! I hope the owls & eagles stick around to clean up all those rats! Can't wait to see what you get on video. GOD Bless Your Family 🙏🙏🌹 Love 🌻 from Apex NC 💜
I would absolutely love getting to see an owl up close- whether it’s in your camera or not - that would be so awesome! Wildlife is absolutely amazing. If I could find a spot to just sit and watch all day long, I would definitely do it! Your camera is the next best thing!
Kevin, I was just admiring that big tree stump that you have in the yard there to the left of you and was wondering if maybe you could get someone to do some kind of chainsaw art on it. That would be so cool and another unique thing about that property.
Great Horned Females Screech. But Great Horned owls have black beaks always. Screech owls have boned color ones. So here we go lets Identify this beautiful Bird! ❤
I use Merlin all the time it has been so much fun identifying those that I can't see or don't know. It has actually helped me tailor my bird area to attract new birds
Did you film the eagles? Your big rats...are they muskrats? There is a pair of great horned owls in my area. There is Bald eagles and a couple years ago I saw a pair Golden eagles. This spring I had a baby bobcat hanging around. Nature is so wonderful to see.
You may want to always leave a couple mower strips wide of taller grass. That will insure there is always a hiding patch for the rodents & rabbits. Just rotate it around each time you cut grass. That land would be a great area to plant in a spring cover crop of red clover and set a bee box down there. Between the trees & clover you might get an abundance of honey.
You can make or buy owl & bat boxes. Bat boxes are for them to live in, they eat their weight in mosquitos. We gave my sister in law a bat box, she got another, they are both full now. You can get a plant identifier app too!
Kevin, Wasn’t the owl that you and Kayla saw in the tree an adult owl? It was large and I don’t think the baby owls could’ve grown that large already; I think that the owl in the tree was one of the parents. As far as the rats go, maybe they’re moles. I do know that rats tunnel but the creatures in the field were hard to see and they looked to big for field mice but too small for rats to me. It will be interesting to see what you find out. Good luck!! 😊😊❤❤
Moles are very small, even smaller than mice. Those looked like rats to me and we saw plenty of rats here on the Mississippi coast after Hurricane Katrina.
@@phyllisbrostrom7348 Oh! You think? I thought they looked to small for rats and they couldn’t all be babies, could they? I also thought moles were a little larger than mice, but smaller than rats. However, I’ve never seen a mole so what do I know!! 😀😀 Thanks! It’ll be interesting to see what Kevin says they are; if he can trap one of them!! Have a good evening.
Rats love peanuts if you bait those traps with them you will definitely get some! I hope everything goes well for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
Those are field rats. They are brown, larger than mice for sure and have a shorter tail than a rat that gets in barns and houses. The owls are there because you have them in your field. That is for sure what they want to eat! You need a trail came and just pore feed like corn on the ground in an open area, to tole the rats into the open where the owls can catch them.
Field mice. Field mice dig holes & have nests. Then a farmer comes along & destroys their nests. Hence Steinbeck quoted “Best laid plans of mice & men oft times go astray.” We all make plans that can go astray. 😉
Those holes are probably from the rats. I would like to see the stone house finished inside... that would be cool. Can depend on your videos 😊. Still would like to see more of Rachel 😊. Love your videos ❤
I have the Merlin app on my cell phone. Wife and I sit out on our deck at night and identify the birds we hear with it. Some nights we get as many as 20 different species. It’s a great application!❤
Kevin, I bet they’re river rats. They’re dangerous. I believe that is what is living in the holes. Stay safe.
Kevin, it’s definitely a Great Horned Owl. You could clearly see it’s horns the night you and Kyah made the video. 🦉
Who wants to bet he gets squirrels. 😂

That is a great horned owl and it is good to have there to keep down the rodents
I believe you are correct-that is the sound a juvenile Great Horned Owl makes when they are begging their parents for food
You should have an abundance of predator birds. Your land is a buffet of their favorite meals. Good luck. God’s blessings
I’m willing to bet the owls are on rodent watch! I’d let them be and don’t forget to duck now and then 🤪

Listening to the birds is lovely.
No, wonder the owls are there... it's the rats!
I so agree with you 💜living along with the animals isn’t that hard it’s all about adapting with them💜✝️💜
Skeeter would probably like to chase those field rats!

Good luck with your mystery Kevin, the rats you defiantly want to get rid off. Love your lake property, it’s gorgeous. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Rats are a big problem. My husband started taking them out because they ate the wiring on his 4wheeler and one of his trucks. Expensive to fix.
Love your videos. We have lots of raccoons, fox, possums too. Plus lots of deer.
I volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center where there were great horned owls that I handled. They are quite large and have amazing claws & strength. Don't be surprised if your traps get destroyed.
I love hearing all the birds in your videos.

It would be cool if you could run a snake camera down the hole. Check to see what kind of nesting material might be down there or how big the hole is.
Be careful with the owls, many types are under government protection and regulations. 👍🐁🐀🦉🦅
Yep owls and migratory birds
I'm sure he's very aware of all that since he studies and researches things.
Kevin OMgosh!!! Your lake property is gorgeous! It doesn't even look Iike the same place!. Great job!!!!!
I hope you are able to find out what kind of owl it is. I really enjoy bird watching. Good luck. 😍
This is very exciting ! You leave no stone unturned investigating the owls. ❤ blessings to your family ❤
Good luck catching good pictures of the owls .😊
Good luck Kevin, i hope you get the owl on video. It would be so cool to see!
I hope the owls & eagles stick around to clean up all those rats!
Can't wait to see what you get on video.

I love your lake property. It's beautiful. I love your curiosity with different animals and birds.
Great Horned owl. That’s what I thought and Merlin is very reliable.
Hope you're able to lure the owls in so you can get a closer picture of it. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
The wildlife is so beautiful to see thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Y'all did a fabulous job decorating for fall. LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤

You could have anything in those holes. Snakes, gophers, rats, etc.
yes!! put the owl eating the varmints on the other channel !!!
Way cool if you can get a pic of the owl! I hope this works.😊
That is why you have the owls. They are part of the food chain.
Kevin, I was just admiring that big tree stump that you have in the yard there to the left of you and was wondering if maybe you could get someone to do some kind of chainsaw art on it. That would be so cool and another unique thing about that property.

The owls you have shown look too big to be burrowing owls. LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤

Yes, great horned owls!!!

Happy rat 🐀 hunting Kevin 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
With all the rats no wonder the owls living there
The trap would be better over by the tall grass where the rodents feel safer. 👍👍By the tree you will only catch a squirl. 💖💖👍👍💖💖
Love is land !! Hope you get that rat for the owl !! Lol Sounds like fun 🤣 😂 😄 Love n Blessings

Luv, luv, luv these type videos, Kevin thanks so much!
Great Horned 🦉 owls❤❤❤❤
Maybe it's Sasquatch owls! Lol

Thanks Kevin for the video
I believe it is a Great Horned Owl !!!!
That's why the owls are there to feast on the rats. Stay Blessed y'all 😊
I think it’s a Great Horned owl like Merlin said, Kevin. Good luck. 😊❤
So many types of rodents and owls in that area. Definitely a mystery.
💕🙏🏼
Enjoyed watching the video Kevin 😊
Love how you’re going about finding out the kind of owls. Great video - good luck.
Have you checked the brush pile for your GoPro? It may have gotten hooked on one of the trees you where moving.
Looks like great horned owls.

Enjoyed it all, beautiful property, looking foreword to the owls!
Definitely a great horned owl !
If those owls were born there, even if they weren’t, they probably feast on the rodents regularly.
Varmints, I agree to relocate far from where you are
Good luck on your endeavors
Love videos like this!
I'm sticking with my vote for a Great Horned Owl
Thanks for information shared. Blessings to HHF 🙏🤣
Love this type of experimentation. I personally find it fun and exciting.
Great Horned Owls are big! They can take small dogs, cats and Chickens.
My poppy took great pride everytime he trapped rats. Used them in his crab and lobster traps.😂😂😂
I have no idea about types of owls but...good video.
Rats love peanuts if you bait those traps with them you will definitely get some! I hope everything goes well for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤

This is a great mystery solving adventure.
Interesting stuff thanks. Chris from England
You stand a good chance to catch em all with that trap
Kevin feeding the wildlife.
Good stars no wonder the owls are living there. That is a field mouse buffet! And heaven for that fox to find food.
Field rats
