Daniel had a lone Vulture baby in an old shed type building on that property where they’re building the warehouse. It was pretty scary just like yours. About the rats - that’s why you’ve got owls. They’re catching & eating the rats.

Hey y'all It's definitely a Great horned Owl I've had a family of them on my property for over 15 years . They come back each year to have their owlets and I have three families of them over just 2 acres. I live in Southern Coastal North Carolina and we have Bald Eagles all over around here also . I love that y'all are such Great Stewards of all Animals.

Hey Kevin, my Ranger Friend taught me about this begging call.
The male takes the kids off aways . He watches over them for a bit at there new home. Then He leaves.
We would listen to them call for there parents who were sittinging in her back yard 😂.
So basically they are there to stay .
They have plenty of food(rodents) and Forest to live in🥴
    I hope your experiment works🌞!
Everything loves the Home you've made them🤭.

I agree with Merlin. I'm a birdwatcher . Be careful with the rats, especially when you release them. They will bite and maybe even jump and bite. You don't want to get bitten. Lightning can get you confused trying to identify a bird. A good bird book can help you but you may not have time to read it. Audubon Society and or Golden, a guide to field identification Birds of North America. I am as anxious as you are. Great video again Kevin. Good luck. May the Lord continue to Bless you and your family and your critters 🙏🙏 Peace 🕊️ Love from Maryland ❤

You may want to always leave a couple mower strips wide of taller grass. That will insure there is always a hiding patch for the rodents & rabbits. Just rotate it around each time you cut grass. That land would be a great area to plant in a spring cover crop of red clover and set a bee box down there. Between the trees & clover you might get an abundance of honey.

Kevin, Wasn’t the owl that you and Kayla saw in the tree an adult owl? It was large and I don’t think the baby owls could’ve grown that large already; I think that the owl in the tree was one of the parents.
As far as the rats go, maybe they’re moles. I do know that rats tunnel but the creatures in the field were hard to see and they looked to big for field mice but too small for rats to me. It will be interesting to see what you find out. Good luck!! 😊😊❤❤

Those are field rats. They are brown, larger than mice for sure and have a shorter tail than a rat that gets in barns and houses. The owls are there because you have them in your field. That is for sure what they want to eat! You need a trail came and just pore feed like corn on the ground in an open area, to tole the rats into the open where the owls can catch them.
