I’ve always put the thread through the threader first and then wondered why the thing didn’t work! I was doing it backwards. Thank you-now I can use one with confidence. 🙂

Thank you so much! I'm a grandmother who doesn't sew. I'm hemming my grand baby's pants that his mother cuts off and sends him to preschool in following the Sunday she has him. The problem is that she doesn't dress him back in or returns any clothing he has on when she picks him up late Saturday afternoons. She's taken to cutting off pants and sending him off to school looking like 'Lil Abner. I began hemming those and have him wear those on the day mom takes him. So far. I've hemmed only 3. This past Monday, he came back from preschool with 'Lil Abner pants yet again.
I have pants I'd like to hem, so that mom has them for Mondays. I'm 77 and have trouble threading a needle. I could when I had younger eyes and never hzd to use a threader.
Thanks for the video--I'm hemming 3 pairs, and more as I can.

Figured how to use it myself just came here for confirmation :)
Pro tip: don't thread too much, just enough to keep it hooked.
Another tip would be: don't worry if your needle hole seems to be too small, just bend the metal wires more and it will fit.
Wish I knew this device existed, just found it in a kit, I'm gunna buy more for mom, she's been doing it by hand for 40 years now no problem but why struggle :)

Red Ted Art, I truly appreciate this video. This is because I have always seen this needle threader tool as part of my sewing kit but never bothered to find out it's main purpose. I have always struggled trying to pass the thread through the needle but never knew how simple it was by the use of a needle threader. I never knew there was a tool called needle threader till today. Thanks so much for the exposure.

This is why I love RUclips! Thank you very much for this video. I was doing it backwards; putting the the thread in the threaded and then wondering why it didn't work.🤣
