Jomtien looks really nice thses days. It used to have the vibe of a retirement home compared to Pattaya back in the day when I first went to Thailand. Arriving in the land of smiles in 5 days, it's going to be so great.
I remember the very first time I went to jomtien, the beach road was empty, no bars, restaurants, nothing at all, just a dirt road that ran for about a mile and stopped dead, that is more than 30 years ago though.
Great work Trevor , looks like a great area with plenty to do. Always enjoy your content mate, So glad we have summer down here , makes the pain of not being in Pattaya a little less
Thanks for checking out Jomtien! I am coming back to Pattaya again after 3 years. I like the fact that it isn't as busy. Too many people can get in your way sometimes!
7-11 @ Pattaya in LK Metro - when you enter the buzzer says "hello...welcome" first 724 times it is somewhat funny but after a thousand times it drives you crazy... I couldn't imagine having to live upstairs to the same bell ringing non-stop. Great video by the way, thanks.
Great vid as usual Matey, I had a couple of 2 week millionaire visits to Pattaya initially ten years ago but realised Jomtien was the place for me fairly quickly. Good to see its getting busy again, I was over for 30 days May/June this year and it was still a bit quiet but I'd been told it had picked up and this vid has confirmed it and I'm looking forward to my next 30 day visit end of Jan to end of Feb. I'm hoping all you utubers pushing Jomtien doesn't spoil it for us regulars as I always saw it as a well kept secret. So if any of you are thinking of coming over don't believe him you go to Pattaya, Jomtien is quiet, boring and expensive ;-)
I've always liked Jomtien and the further south you go the quieter it gets. It's also a quick baht bus or bolt taxi over to Pattaya when you want to go there.
i lived in Jomtiem, up Thepprasit Rd, a quick moto ride town to the beach. Loved it. A bit more chill than patts, but you can jump over there on a baht bus. It's not far from 'the dark side' which is completely empty of tourists, and lives up to its name. haha. You're also not far from Bangkok for city flavor, and can get out to Koh Chang if you want some beautiful island action. Jomtiem is not particularly pretty (lots of cement, no great views) but in terms of easy living, it's great. Thanks for the video! good memories
I stayed there for the first time this spring and really enjoyed it. However I'm older with a GF, don't drink much, enjoy Thai street food and a walk along the beach (much better than Pattaya beach), rather than nightclubs/Agogos/GCs. It's easy to get a Baht Bus from Jomtien to Pattaya but not quite so obvious from Pattaya to Jomtien. If you're scrabbling for an easy vid some time then you could do one from say The Walking Street sign to Jomtien by Baht Bus. I did pop into Pattaya (spoke to you briefly at Buzzin before you left on a crawl), a Beer with Mr Egg and a beer at Nicks place on 7, then back to Jomtien within 2 hours.
Another good un trev I always stay in jomtien Delanos or seahorses were my go-to datime water holes Escobar's a good night nings a good host like you said lots of good places to eat grap a bite in the night market if short 555

I love Jomtien especially Country Road just love sitting there and watching the world go by , across the road you pointed out the newly refurbished ago go , I went in drunk into the old one in 2017 loved the music but not for me. I will definitely be visiting jomtien again when I'm over in 2 weeks. Thanks for the vlog can't believe how much it has changed since Jan 2020
Over the years only visited Jomptien a handful of times and never at night. However did have extensive dental treatment their because my dentist who practised on soi 8 Sunbeam clinic proferred to do intricate work in Jomtien. Tonights ride round looks really nice and if I ever return to Pattaya will visit at night too Thanks for your excellent videos.
I have a mate who lives in London that travels here in the states a couple of weeks a year. Our last trip, he stated that Jomtien is where he has been going for the last 6 or so years ... not counting the recent travel 'hiccup'. He knows me pretty well and suggested Jomtien is more my style. From this video I can see he is correct. In Vietnam, HCMC was too busy and Hoi An was too slow. For Thailand, Jomtien seems the perfect fit. Thanks so much for your video!
I think it's a nice place to stay by watching your video and thank you for sharing this I've been to central Pattaya a few times on vacation over the years and now i'm in my 50's and would look at this area for long term condo rental if on a retirement visa which i hope to get when I arrive later this year Condos are cheaper and better value for money than central Pattaya from what I can see listed on line and also hopefully older lady's 30-50 around in the bars Etc in Jomten I would hope as I'm not interested in meeting with a lady my daughters age anymore ..lol
I have to say that I'm feeling the same way. Of course, playing games with a hot 20 year old is fun but I also would enjoy having a nice evening with a hot MILF; granted, it's not as easy finding a MILF who has really taken care of her body but I'll give it a shot. I'm always hoping to find the diamond in the rough....
Thank you. I will be back in late December for a little over two months. May apply for a 10 year visa. Will stay near LK Metro the first two weeks before moving down to Jomtien. Frazer's and Hemingways are favorite hangouts. A comment: There are a lot of colleges outside Central Pattatya and the girls need to pay for their costs. For the most part, they speak English. Therefore, you are going to find a MUCH higher level of education and sophistication amongst the "working" girls in Jomtien, especially South Jomtien, then you will find in Central Pattaya. The Ocean Marina, with all its money, is a definite draw. In addition, you find some very attractive girls hanging around the golf courses. But, be prepared to pay more.
I too really like Jomtien. As you say, a lot quieter than central Pattaya but love the bars at Rompho and elsewhere. My only complaint about Pattaya is the crap variety of beer available and the fact that most of it is bottled. This is why I love the beer in The Cove. It has the atmosphere of a funeral parlour but their caramel Czech lager is from the gods. Best lager in Pattaya.
Hello interesting feed as always. You're often talking about your website to come, does it mean you will no longer be on RUclips? Because I kind of liking to randomly go from one and another channel, it's wonderful seeing you post a new one or your lives that I can see later from my country with 6 hours time laps ??
Jomtien is definitely a better scene for retiring! Less noise and traffic! Leave Pattaya for the tourist! Thanks for showing a more sensible area to relax but still have all the fun you could ever want!
Just love to stay in Jomtien when i am in the area. So easy to go in to Pattaya for a night out, or just stay in Jomtien for a little more "calm" night out.
Just moving permanently to Jomtien in four days having done a recce of the area last month....its deffo quieter than mental Pattaya but IMHO, Pattaya is the go to place if your visiting and Jomtien better for a longer stay if you need time out like me on the odd occasion (!).... and its so damn cheap and easy to commute between the two anyway... you can even do it by boat ! Hoping to catch up Trevor very soon ! You'll find me on a deckchair on the beach at 50 baht for the whole day accompanied by cold beers !
Rarely leave Jomtien for Pattaya.I like Cheap Charlies and Surf Kitchen to eat (Soi5/6). JB Pool House for pool (behind Country Road 2 music bar). Excellent cabaret show at The Venue in Supertown. Show at 21.45. Drinks mostly 150. All male ensemble. And if you do want a gay bar - Sunee (boss Charlie), Sun (bosses Sun and Luck), Divarium (boss Poo).

Yea i had a girlfriend who worked in a bar at the Rompho complex 6 years ago and the bar owners were not getting their leases renewed because they wanted to develop the area, i think she said it the land was owned by a Hospital group but wasnt sure if it was going to be a hospital or a mall 🤔
Jomtein is a bargirl knackers yard. They go there to retire. Best pool players ever though. If you're married like me and aren't into the pushy bargirls then it's definitely the place to go. They're loads of fun.
Jomtien looks nice and laidback, compared to Pattaya. That said, Jomtien seems to be more family and couple oriented. If I could stay in Thailand 2 - 3 months, I think Jomtien would be more appealing.
Here is gas money. Keep making these informative videos Trev!

Afaik Akvavit is still run by Pelle. Lasse has sold Vickans (next door) to an dane who renamed it Happy Viking.
Gotcha
Jomtein is a bargirl knackers yard. They go there to retire. Best pool players ever though. If you're married like me and aren't into the pushy bargirls then it's definitely the place to go. They're loads of fun.
Cheers

You pointed the wrong location out to catch the bus up to Bangkok. Seems a regular occurrence me correcting you on your vlogs Trev.

Jomtien looks nice and laidback, compared to Pattaya. That said, Jomtien seems to be more family and couple oriented. If I could stay in Thailand 2 - 3 months, I think Jomtien would be more appealing.
It is much more laid back
