Appreciate the Newton update! If he can live up to the promise of being a true disrupter, he’ll make everyone’s job on the defense that much easier!!!

Eliminate red zone penalties and immediate improvements will follow. Guaranteed.

John, possibly missed it, but re: D, I didn’t hear comments on lack of talent. I agree with newness & lack of time to ‘gel’, but the reality is they were already lacking solid starters & depth @ corner and edge. So with injuries, we now move from very questionable starting talent to even weaker down depth chart.

What did AP/DQ see in in Armstrong to sign him 3 yrs/$33M, $22M guaranteed? He has 2 asst tackles and no sacks through 2 games.

I guess the biggest disappointment with the coaches, is the play of defense considering DQ is a defensive HC. I assumed swarming, and sure tackling. Did AP so poorly sign players that they are stuck with poor tackling/covering Mike Davis and using Forbes when he isn't ready? Chinn has been a disappointment as has the entire dline. We knew about Mathis possibly being a bust, but DQ gushed about Payne and Allen when he accepted HC job. Haven't seen what he saw; is Allen playing like he expects to be traded? We will see how Newton does with this dline and JAG DEs.
