Just got a new PK360. How do like the Kick Ash Basket? Is it worth the extra expense? You are the second PK owner that I have seen on U Tube that uses it. I like it better than the one PK sells but i'm just wondering if it is a accessory worth getting. Thank you for your thoughts.
Congrats on the new grill! I would love a 360. Yes the Kick Ash Basket is a great investment! I love it and makes setting up cooking zones and cleaning so much easier. Saves on charcoal as well.
Do you always place one paraffin cube on one side (not both sides) of the charcoal? Is the reason to have it slowly burn across the width of the charcoal?
Yea always use one. It’s because I’m cheap and I don’t want to let the fire get too big. These things retain heat so well it would be hard to bring it back down.
Never seen a video on controlling temp on PK. Thank you. For clarification, when you adjusted the bottom vent to "a little crack" was that the vent on the fireside? Or the other side where the protein is? Normally, I just leave my vent on the fireside wide-open. Thank you.
@@mikebowerstv ok that is what I was planning on doing. Just making sure it doesn't cause to much leaking. I guess the vent control you use takes that in concideration. I'm not new to charcoal but I'm new to the pk and wanted to take advantage of it. Thanks!
Oh man, i sure wish you would've shown the burn as you added your smoking wood. So many people akip the most important parts in an instructional video.
Hello! How do you have your probe set up? Did you drill a hole? And if so where did you drill it in? Thanks so much!
@@jonathanlim3614 I run wires through the bottom vent hole on the meat side or sometimes just close the lid on the cable.
Solid! I pretty much smoke everything around 250ish. PK holds temps so well, it's pretty hard not to keep it in the 225-275 range for hours.
Yeah once dialed it holds steady!
Very good and funny videos bring a great sense of entertainment!
hey mate, I saw your comment in that think media stream, nice to see you got to 1k! congrats
Oh awesome! Thank you!
That’s really cool Mike, I’ve heard it’s easy to dial in and hold temps. Nice take on Johnnys video! Happy new year buddy!
Thanks for watching!
Hello Mike. Thanks for doing this little collaboration with me. I really do appreciate it. Take care and Happy New Year!

Love that grill. Back to the basics.

Fireside! I keep the bottom vent on the protein side shut.
@@mikebowerstv Thank you the clarification and responding so quickly. God Bless.
So is that thermometer clipped to the grates? Where do you route the probe cord?
I close the lid on the cord. No issues in two years.

How long does that fire normally last you?
I’ve smoked a pork butt without adding charcoal.
How well does the PK hold temps
Extremely well, very fuel efficient.
Awesome I just got me a pk300
Congrats! They look awesome!!
Been thinking about getting a PK...
It’s a great grill/smoker for sure!!

Not much to it. I put a wood chunk on top of the charcoal and shut the lid.
