Some really cool looking games in there. My first games were RTS games. Well, the very very first one was Mario Is Missing, but of the games I remember playing as I discovered my love for gaming were Dune 2000 and Command & Conquer, Age of Empires and Warcraft 2. And then I have this memory of visiting friends one time and they had a game that I'm pretty sure must've been Settlers, but I could never find it and it lived in my brain as this perfect game. Later there was some Starcraft, me and my brothers played I think Red Alert 2 over LAN, I remember one time playing an Age of Empires 3 game over LAN against my dad and brother and then online I played a LOT of Warcraft 3. Which, together with Starcraft became a gateway through DotA (the custom map) to games like League of Legends. I guess the most recent games that are related to RTS would have to be Rimworld and EU4. Which aren't RTS games of course.
I recently picked up Dune: Spice Wars... it's not bad. I think it plays more like a real-time Civilization game than a more traditional RTS. Cataclismo is next on my list. My favorite slower-paced RTS is Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion...and Sins 2 is a good update. If you like classics, like Supreme Commander, check out Beyond All Reason. Some people made an open sourced engine like the old Total Annihilation...and Beyond All Reason builds on that engine. It's basically a totally free, modernized Supreme Commander.
