Sayers was a British author writing about events happening largely in Britain to British people in British towns, villages and homes so please don't mess with the text . In Britain we use POUNDS not dollars. Irritating.
She would certainly have known what was then (after 999) the most famous phone number in Britain was Scotland Yard's Whitehall One-Two, One-Two. Definitely NOT "Whitehall Twelve-Twelve"! And "WelWyn"" ? I hate AI.
I have noticed that in ALL of this series whenever it's pounds they always say dollars. Always. I don't get it. The people who produce this series should either correct it (unlikely) or at least explain themselves. Why? Why? Why?

That really bugged me too! No writer could be so quintessentially English that Dorothy L. Sayers!

Happy to find this. We read Dorothy Sayers some years ago. This should be a treat. Thanks!
Dorothy Sayers was a wonderful writer.
An intellectual
I miss Ian Carmichael narrating. Also, why are they talking about dollars and not pounds? Did I miss something?
Yes none of this sits right...

Excellent story, very well narrated. I too regret the change from pounds to dollars. Pourquoi?
We pronounce Welwyn as Welin not WelWyn, silent second W. Not a mistake Lord Peter Wimsey would have made!
Excellent, thoroughly enjoyed . Thank you.👍🥂
Fun
"Well-win" should be "Well-in"!
Probably the best AI voice of all, but let down by these small faults.

great
Why does the narrator say dollars when it's clearly written as pounds? This happens in other stories too, not just this one. Very strange.
That's a picture of Agatha Christie in your notes, just below the video -- NOT Dorothy L. Sayers. Fix that NOW.
👍👍
Not a difficult one.
