The AI is hilarious in this offering. It can’t cope with colloquialisms, foreign words or language, grammar or punctuation! Needs much more work.

I resent the use of Fraser for a non human reader. It wasn't necessary to copy Hugh Fraser's surname.

It must be a lot cheaper to have an AI device reading a story, which is good in a way as it may allow uploading many more stories. On the other hand (this is why we have two) after enjoying a few AI narrations, you begin to miss the human nuances, the human modulation of tone. It's great to find that we cannot always be replaced by gadget.

I agree, too many blasted ads -one can no longer leave the phone on the locker and listed while you sleep. The ads tend to be stupid and long such that they actively demote that which they are trying to promote.

I’m so glad I found Agatha Christie all those years ago ( the early ‘60’s), and all the many, many other books I’m still lucky to have at my fingertips ! I’ve re-read them so often and listened by various devices over the years, and glad to have found them here, even though I still don’t care for the lack of human idiosyncrasies of the real human voices that AI will never replicate, I think I’d still like to pick up my paperbacks again, instead. There is something about turning the pages, re-reading a line or two and even just wondering about something - and especially not having to be attached to one wire or another. AI keeps ruining my hopes of ever hearing a real reader’s voice again anyway, and I have always cared very much what the voices of readers of stories sound like - easy to have the whole thing ruined by someone who thinks they have a good narrating voice. I was about fourteen or so when I read this story ( I always penciled in the date when I got a new book to read) and Christie’s idea of a “romance wrapped up “ for the long winter years for women appealed to me very much, and I hoped something like that would happen for me. But, now that I’m 75, I can say that never really happened for me. I was luckier, and though it came later to me than as a very young woman, I did find my one and only soul-mate, and am glad to say that after 40 years of marriage, my “romance”for long winter nights is sitting next to me, all wrapped up in bed here, every night. I do know how lucky I am ! Even all the book readings I’ve done over all these years have given me lots of memories too - like trying to find a quiet corner to be alone to do some reading, being the oldest in a house of seven children, and having a nice shiny sour apple ( my favourite) with a small bar of dark chocolate all to myself ! That was decadence, to me - both what I was eating and more importantly being alone for a short while ! I am always glad to see how many people have enjoyed Agatha Christie’s s books ! Thank you !
