It’s great that so many people are posting these BBC Radio Dramas. I love them! But we all have different tastes. For me I found the music off putting and too frequent. I don’t know if the original drama had this music. However, if it has been added afterwards, for this post it perplexes me why! It was a distraction from the drama and I gave up listening after 7:40 mins.
After reading the comments, i listened to the story. Very good story, the music was not overwhelming and perfectly placed. In not wanting to be cruel to previous posts, go back to your TV and silly soaps. Don't comment on true art. Have another diet coke while we enjoy quality entertainment.

I enjoyed the music. Most of it added a very nice touch to the production. There were a couple of slightly jarring moments, but overall it was pleasant.
I enjoyed the story, but can't stand the musical interludes. As an earlier critic noted , they are abrupt and jarring. If they are meant to add enjoyment, they do not. Leave the fun to the story itself. 17:1117:24
In my 80's and brought up on radio drama in England, this is a perfect example, and brings back many memories. I appreciate that the music may not be to the liking of those preferring to rush from a to b without added mood music. Sorry people 😊

Excellent . . . but almost ruined by intrusive 'music' introduced by someone with little taste.

Perhaps the occasional music, as well as the other sound effects, may have been put there by the BBC?
