  • How to remove the pump rotors on a fisher and Paykel dish drawer. If your Dishdrawer is not draining out at the end of the cycle, is making a noise when washing, or coming up with one of the “rotor jammed” codes then this is how you can check it yourself.

    Thank you for showing how to reattach the middle rotor piece. I had no idea I needed to line up the small arrow. Once I did that, the rotor slid right into place! Cheers from NY!

    OMG that has saved my life. Slight exaggeration but I’ve been taking apart my machine and putting it back together as instructed and couldn’t figure out why it was still making the high screeching noise and not operating. I never knew the rotor went in a particular way. Thanks so much.

    Thank you so much! My hubs is out of town and I watched your video and cleaned this squalling machine all by myself! I'm sure you saved me a ton of time, money and frustration! It was disgusting under that silver bottom, and I'll never let it get like that again! Who knew? Just ran the first post-cleaning cycle and not a peep! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We have very hard water and I'm sure that was part of the problem. I clean the little filter trap often, but never cleaned the spinner or under the silver bottom. Thanks for giving me the confidence to do it myself. It wasn't hard and was worth the 30 minutes it took to make it nearly new again. I repeat: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

    Thank you so much for this really clear and easy to follow video. My dishwasher rotor had come adrift and I had no idea what to do. I took everything apart and put it back together, with the small blue plastic part firmly on now, and everything clicked properly into place. It has just gone through a cycle perfectly!

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  3 года назад +1

      The blue part (which is the washing pump rotor) is not meant to come off the shaft. If you find it comes off repeatedly you may need to get a new rotor.

    Thank you for this. Ours was not draining, and making a squealing noise. I didn't realize the rotor was that easy to remove - thanks to your clear demonstration. A rinse and reinstallation fixed the noise, but it still wasn't draining. I found instructions online for accessing the diagnostic menu to (carefully) run the drain motor, and it was obvious that it was spinning just fine but the water wasn't going down. I think I had a blockage in the drain because after I poked a piece of plastic line into the exit hole, it has started working again.
    Now that I have had it apart, I can see that the rotor is worn, so I will replace it. No complaints, we've had it for 8 years with no faults.

    Super clear explanation, thanks. I recently had excess water in my dish drawers after a cycle. The pump propellor was damaged from glass or similar. Replacing the pump with a new one from F&P fixed the issue and it works perfectly again.

    Great video in that he points out that there is a fourth element on the rotor that needs to be properly aligned for the rotor to operate correctly. You can out the rotor back in and snap it into place with that fourth element not in the correct orientation. If that happens then when the dishwasher starts it will fail to get the rotor going properly which sounds like a series of taps and then it starts to beep and shut down. When you open the drawer it will show an 'F' fault code.

    I have a DD60DCX7 which has been in storage for about 2 years. It was working perfectly when it went into storage so I kept it for my new house. The first couple of washes worked fine then I noticed the dishes in the top drawer were dirty and there was a build up of water in the drawer and I had an E1 error. All the parts, including the blue rotor blade were floating. I found a tiny button that had made it's way into the rotor shaft somehow and was blocking the drain hole. I cleaned it out and mopped up all the water. I found water everywhere under the drawers, so I removed the drawers and mopped them out. Put it all back together, tried it on rinse, and ended up with a drawer full of water again. Took it apart again and discovered there was water in the plastic cover below the top drawer. Tipped it up and drained what I could and then put the hairdryer on it. Before I call the service technician out, if I leave it to dry out properly, will it work again, or do I need to get a service person out? I can't see how to remove the cover off the electronics to dry them out.

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  Год назад

      If you dry it out fully with the power off (unplugged from wall) there will be no more F1 when you turn it back on without you having to reset anything, just may take a couple of days to dry fully. There are a couple of little clips to remove the cover, but on that model water shouldn't have got into the electronics, just into the leak sensor in the base so will clear when all dry. The controller uses the rotor to tell when it is full so if that is coming apart it will be overfilling.

    Thank you so much for the video. My F&P dw60CE dishwasher has a wired sound and not washing, and also a burning smell. I’m not sure if it deserves to repair it or just get a new one.

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  2 года назад

      If its not washing it would suggest problems with the wash pump, that sometimes can be just a capacitor. What is the state of the plastic bits on the dishwasher? Basket wheels, control panel housing/handle etc? It will probably be repairable but depending on the age if its starting to fall apart you could spend quite a bit to get everything back to 100%

    How did u clean below the rotor? Bc all what i ve seen is dismantling and returning to place

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  Год назад

      usually you are taking the rotor out to check for bits of broken glass etc in the bottom. You can also use a piece of wire to check the pipe that runs straight forward to the sump filter.

    • @motrepairs

      If you turn it off and on at the wall and still have the error it means the issue is still there.

    Thanks for the video, followed your instructions but still getting E2 (motor fault), 03 (temp sensor?) and U4 (Fault in the other drawer preventing the use of this draw) error codes on my F&P "Classic" DishDrawer (DD60DCX7) model. Not sure if I need to spend $1300 on new dish washer or if motor just needs replacing. There's a burning smell throughout dish washer)

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  3 года назад

      If you are having a burning smell that's really not good, un plug it from the wall and don't use it until you have been able to have had it looked at. Its probably not going to be a cheap repair from the sound of that, but if its a version 7 it should be worth at least getting it assessed, should be cheaper then a new one

    If the little flaps under the rotor are broken off will that affect the machines use

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  2 года назад

      The rubber flaps at the bottom are the draining impeller, so it will struggle to drain if they are broken or worn.

    Thank you for the great video! I removed the rotor motor which looks fine however I noticed that the bottom grey part with the legs (which need to go back in the correct position) is not spinning freely like it does in your video. It's rather stiff and difficult to turn, is this normal?

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  2 года назад

      That lower part sits still and the rotor turns inside it, so if it is binding or too stiff to turn you may get motor or fill errors. Is there anything caught between the lower impeller and the grey lower bearing?

    • @gratefulqt7704
      @gratefulqt7704 2 года назад

      @@motrepairs Thank you for your reply! I didn't find debris lodged anywhere but I rinsed the rotor under hot water and scrubbed it with a toothbrush. The blue fins on top spin freely however the lower part above the bottom fins is super stiff and it's very difficult to spin unlike what you showed in your video. This drawer hardly gets any use so I think the lower part may have sat in water too long and got bound up. I decided to order a replacement on Amazon for $100. Hopefully that will do the trick. Thanks again for your detailed video, had you not demonstrated the various parts that spin independently, I wouldn't have known there was an issue with this rotor.

    Hello I have an older fisher and it started throwing a F82 code in the middle of the night when it wasn't even running. What does that mean?

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  Год назад +1

      It can't be too old if its giving that code. Its a motor controller code, (on the back wall, not the tub). We have had a few problems with cockroaches getting into motor controllers, sometimes removing them is enough but usually they blow things by walking on the wrong components.

    So i have checked all that, but no one says anything about a stretched Red O Ring. Ive checked the channels are not blocked ie the ones inside the little well of the pump

    • @motrepairs

      Yes the o-ring can get a bit stretched, you can get a new one here www.appliancespares.nz/products/fisher-paykel-dishdrawer-rotor-motor-o-ring-o-ring-silicone-seal-523049?_pos=1&_sid=7081649e1&_ss=r

    Anyone know as to how that pump works ?

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  Год назад +1

      The part you see is just the magnetic rotor, winding are around the base. The lower impeller blade is the drain pump, when it turns one way it drains, when it turns the other it does nothing. The top blade is the wash impeller. When it turns in the wash direction it scoops water up then out into the spray arm.

    I would like to add here. There are 3d printed motors being sold on Ebay, total scam. Watch for those that have larger than original impeller blades. The motors are marketed as "used" justifying a low price but they are actually 3d printed, with no scuffs whatsover but the impeller area to sit in pool of water is not re-created like the original rendering them totally useless. The design does not allow for forceful sideways into the drain expulsion of the water. wASTE OF MONEY AND SCAMMERS RUNNING FREE
