I'm more excited for the fact that the minions will take the portals. This means you can build on Montana's Gemelas a hell of a lot better. Since you could put this on let's a level three and have that shortcut through the base without them having to go all the way to the basement. You still need to put a stairwell in though it will not let you just have the portals
One tip I can give is to make small 3 by 3 areas in your hallways that are test room type just enough to fit the trap and you can set them in any room might look a lil weird but I use this for my vaults every corner is a hallway type with cameras keeps symmetry in check
This game is only getting better with each update. Love it. Just completed this dlc doing my first mac run through after completing a Ivan run through.
During the ‘alpha testing’ side quest, one of the objectives is to ‘combo aperture wall launcher with repulsion gel’, or around those lines. I’m doing exactly that but no progress is being made on the mission.
An easier way to do the turrets task is to face them against a cellblock or a corridor and set a minion for execution. If that's not enough health, you can then shoot the guy who comes to pick up the body. The best way I have found to use the turrets is an area with kill auto-tag, and a launcher trap that sends the agents into a laser disco flanked by turrets - they will do tons of damage while the victim dances.
It's probably for balancing. If you could place more than one set of portals in your lair, it'd make things a cakewalk (pun entirely intended) Still sucks tho. They could have extended the limit on portals for the hardest difficulty
The first time I unlocked the portals I created a dead end room off to the side of my casino. Agents would go in and get sucked into a magnet, the wall would knock them into a portal, this sends them to the basement where the armory+prison was located, pulled by another magnet through a freeze ray and in front of a camera. The guards get off their table, knock them out and put them in the cells for interrogation. I also noticed if I sounded an alarm or if someone in the casino was seen on camera the guards would use the portal to get to the casino real quick.
I'm using the portals for security centers. why have a suspicious security center when I can just hide it in the back of my lair and use the portals to go to and from
I need your help. When the side story says combine multi-purpose panel and propulsion gel, doesnt count.... And i builded all like you... Sorry for my bad english...
@@GoatMilkCookie if they didn't want to innovate on the formula they already have for the geniuses then I think the "character" you can move around is just a minion in a lab coat holding a speaker and a security camera. If I can hire Gordon freeman to be my henchman 10/10 beautiful game. Best game ever
I've been waiting for you make a video on this DLC
My second video from the new studio location :) got moved in just in time.
Thats super cool. Im excited to see all of this in action. Well done!

Yeah that seems like it will be super useful.
Great video, keep going ! I want to see many traps ideas with the portals !

Same thing happening to me, you manage to get past it?
@@OwlyOwlman No. :/ I just ignored this mission.
still got buggy sometimes. or always :(
I'm going to replace all my normal traps with the portal ones, I hope that we can get more valve items in eg2
I cant wait for this to come out on console. I hope there are more interesting henchmen coming too though.
If our next free DLC is Half Life, what do you guys think that pack is going to look like?
Headcrab dispenser that turns victims into zombies that meelee attacks the closest victims.
@@dvd1098 maybe combine henchmen that we'll be good
muscle henchmen will be able to get crowbars
psygun

depends on setup you can use turrets in the test room just be sure to keep a cell surrounded with turrets in the room
I use the portals to get from the main armory to the casino asap. Just wish we got more than 1 set of them.

And this gets even better with the new turrets added with the oceans dlc :)
Somehow the turret doesn't deal friendly fire, I let 6-8 muscle minions attack a single agent and none of them taking any damage from the turret
My first idea for the portal: make a portal to the vault, and have it locked in the earth.
Thanks for the heart teddy! I like your videos, there aren’t a lot like them.

YES THE PORTAL PACK

I'm sorry my friend, if the same set up I used did not work then I'm not sure how to help.
Brenda, the same is happening to me. Did you fixed it?
Tá acontecendo a mesma coisa comigo, você conseguiu resolver?
combo aperture multi purpose science panel doesn't work for me, i did just like u did, but didn't work =/
This saved me so much ty
Watch someone make the never going to give you up song out of the pin ball bummers
That sounds like a challenge
What's the music from?
I'm using the streambeats synth playlist as background
The turrets are effected by the hourglass ⏳
Would be a lot better, if we had Glados as evil genius and Chell as henchman. And it really need items from Portal 2 at this point.
Glados would make an awesome genius. At least we got a few portal 2 references in the side stories.
@@TeddyNinja How would Glados work as a genius, would she like not exist until her sanctum is built? does she inhabit a smaller core?

Propulsion to repulsion combo trap was damn hard
I know, I am trying this for hours =/
How did you make it work? I think is a bug.
Sigh, well time to reinstall EG2 ;) Thnx for the video
Half life pack could be fun with traps, but maybe combine minions would be a good shout?
For sure, maybe I'm being stupid getting my hopes up for a half life pack, but it seems heavily implied at this point.
That was 😂a sick ass trap setup
