Hi Amanda!! I found your channel again after a long time so happy to see you again!! I would love to know if you offer consulting formulation and cosmetic formula development for third party as i am interested in having my own skincare brand! Let me know :)
hi! this may seem like a weird question but how’s your work culture? do you get to interact with other coworkers/people throughout the day or is it a pretty independent job?
love this question! company culture is so important and something that I value as a new professional. due to covid, lots of the employees that were usually in-person are now remote, so I only get to interact physically with a few coworkers, the rest are all through video calls. my job in general is quite collaborative but my team is all over the place throughout the US so even though I am by myself in the lab for now I have a great support system remotely!
I just found your channel and I love it! I'm also interested in becoming a cosmetic chemist, what school / program are you in? (you said University of Sensetti? master program; can't pick that up lol) Can you recommend some other programs?
Exciting!! Gayathri's right I attend the University of Cincinnati's MS in cosmetic science which is an online program. The University of Toledo has an undergrad in Cosmetic Science and Formulation and Design which I graduated from and I know that both Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickinson University has master's programs for cosmetic science! Hope this helps!
@@urfriendamanda thanks for the reply! Some follow-up questions I have : How do you get a job if you are not done with the master's program? Is that because you did cosmetic science as your major during undergrad? I'm just trying to see if I can get a cosmetic chemist job during the University of Cincinnati master program even if I don't have a cosmetic science bachelor's degree. Do you think there are a good amount of jobs out there as a cosmetic chemist in Northern California VS southern California? Can you recommend companies in North Cali? I'm Korean and would like to work in beauty industry of Korean and USA, becoming a connecting bridge.)
@@urfriendamanda two more questions to ask if you don't mind answering them : how much does the University of Cincinnati MS in cosmetic science program focus on color cosmetics such as formulating liquid foundation / complexion products, lipsticks, eyeshadows, hair dye, colorful eyeliner, some colorful mascara or eyebrow products, etc? I know there's color cosmetic elective, but that was about it. I am more interesting in creating color makeup products more than skin care products. Is there a way I can work at a job that focuses on making color products after I finish this ms program or have you seen a case likewise? Hi! I have reached out to a couple makeup chemists, and haven't heard back, so my search continues lol. Im looking to create a liquid binder to help press my broken eyeshadows. The popular one at the moment is the Fixy spray... But it literally consists of two products. The ingredients are isopropyl alcohol and cyclomethicone. Or am I crazy and should use something else? Annnnd last question... Any idea on the ratio I should use? I plan on filling up at least a 2 ounce bottle with whatever mixture I decide to use. Any help would be amazing!! ❤️
Sounds like an excellent product. Heads up... She mentioned that she work a lot. I really doubt she will have the time and energy to respond in depth. Press on and get different results until you land your formula! I hope it works out!

Hi, so are cosmetic chemists always paid well in general? And I've being finding it hard to decide what to major in , chemistry,pharmacy..... I heard studying chemistry can be very hard .
