In Istanbul never let another westerner lead you anywhere they recommend. At best the locale will quickly load a table with dates and fruits and charge you 400 Euros just for that if you try to leave. I got away with giving 50 Euros for a "no trouble" exit. The western losers that lure others should have long ago been punished by the CIA from the embassy if that organization was doing what it's supposed to do which is looking out for individual Americans' interests.
