Again, NO RUSH on this video, take your time watching it please! 😊🙏
Once again, sorry for some shakiness/out of focus stuff in some clips. I made sure to not go as quickly, but knowing me, it happens sometimes 😂

The Jersey Village High 1988 grad, and one of my classmates, Trace (Dianne) Freeman, now 50, from Houston, TX, is on the Levi's ad.
The 1.73 m-tall semi-blonde looked stunning in her wardrobe of clothes. Crikey! I was spellbound!
From pages 43-45 of "Teen", March 1985.

This was so good. I kept trying to figure out what kind of teen would buy and read these..Andy from Pretty In Pink or the elitist snobs who definitely had their own style....

All kinds of teens, honestly. From the popular to the geeks.

I was a kid/teen in the 80s. I bought the magazine every time I had the money to. I was not in the popular crowd because we didn’t have a lot of money, although I was semi-friends with most of them in elementary school. My best friends were all in the nerd/geek and headbanger groups. Most of my friends from all groups bought them, except my headbanger friends who didn’t relate to them much.

@@tarabooartarmy3654 wow it was that popular, they must have made plenty of sales to reach so many demographics

@@thechronicreative Yeah, I’m sure it made quite a lot back in the day. They shut it down in 2009 because Seventeen was more popular. I preferred ‘Teen when I was a kid/preteen, but I started liking Seventeen better as a teenager. Teen had a lot of stuff in it that wasn’t fashion and beauty related, which was mainly what I wanted to read.
Girls usually only bought 2-3 issues per year unless they were lucky enough to afford a subscription. #1 was definitely the back-to-school issue. I always bought the BTS issue of Teen, Seventeen, and when I could afford it (after they debuted) I would also get Sassy and YM. The back-to-school issues were thicker and had a lot more focus on clothes. Next was the prom issue. Everyone wanted to see the latest prom dress fashion. Finally, people would buy a summer issue to see what the latest summer clothes were, but I think it was mainly the more wealthy girls that bought the summer issues because they’d be going to the beach and wanted to have the right swimsuits and such. My friends and I mainly focused on the back-to-school and prom issues, though sometimes I’d bring my prom issue to school and share with my friends who didn’t have it.

I have the soundtrack to Vision Quest (about 8 min in) on vinyl. It's pretty great.
It's kind of amazing to see just how different teenage girls look, and are depicted. There's a lack of sexiness. It's not being pushed like it is these days. I miss it. There was so much less pressure then (even in the early 90s which was more my time). It's a pity girls now don't get that.
Stirrup pants! I hated them lol. My mother used to make me wear them, and by the end of the day my arches would be in agony. You'd have to sneak the stirrup off your foot, and hide it in your shoes in hopes mom wouldn't notice.

The Vision Quest soundtrack is awesome! And its so cool you have it on vinyl!
I do agree with that, there are a lot more sexual undertones in younger models these days, with clothing and how they pose and are presented. The 80s gave such a different vibe ✨
I finally wore the stirrup pants out and about for about a couple hours the other week and I can now understand what you mean about the feet aches 😂

And 1988 Jersey Village High grad, Trace (Dianne) Freeman, now 53, whom I've known her, was an innocent, sexy semi-blonde with blue eyes as back in 1984, she won a model search in L.A., and then went to San Francisco to stop by Levi's® to grab her wardrobe package.
      H-town's favorite teen then.
