I have seen so many videos talking about stereo width, but they never talk about phasing. I'm trying to make an old sample sound great but the phasing is ridiculous. Jesus christ the relief I felt when you focused on that. Thank you very much for this video.!
I appreciate your thorough A/B comparisons. Especially the mapping at 18:49. I do this all the time, and a lot of youtube producers skip this kind of start point/end point comparisons in their videos. I usually end up skipping between earlier and later parts of the video.
love precise teaching. in my personal experience when i watch tutorials on the internet im not 100% sure what im doin because i dont understand the all chain of aspects i should take in account but in that case it was nice, i've understood every passage. thanks, highly recommended
I want to thank you for a well presented tutorial. Your utility has become a major part of my mixing process. Your informative and thorough knowledge on this topic is really appreciated. That said, everything you have presented in any capacity has been excellent and very professional, nice work.
He’s got a tutorial for making those bass drops on his channel! I copied the tutorial and made an instrument rack for it. I can share it with you if you’d like?
quick question on the two versions that come in the pack, in the 'readme' it says, "Live 9.6 and up use the Live 9 version" .... so.... for live 10 users, we should use the version labelled "EarthCry - Better Haas Widener Live 9" ? thx
how about making an effect rack with 2 chains where theres a dry signal and a wet signal. wet signal has the haas and you put an eq to remove all the mono signal where you can also remove the low frequencies on sides if you want. But im not sure maybe there are problems with this.
Yep. Izotopes imager should be mono compatible. But still, u dont want u widen anything under 150 hz at least. The free version is not a multiband imager, but u can make it one very easily. Just load up abletons multiband dynamics - group it - then duplicate the chain 2 times so u have 3 chains. on the first chain solo the lows, on the second solo the mids and on the third solo the highs, and put the imager on the mids and highs or where ever :) .and u have a multiband imager ;)
Nothing. However the utility device can only expand stereo side and material if it already exists. This device instead creates sideband material. If you use utility on a mono signal no matter how much you turn up “width” it will remain mono, however if you feed this device a mono signal it will generate stereo. Hope that clears it up.
@@cesarqzda oh really?never knew that I'm noob. So maybe that's why my piano recording sounds garbage. I'll try turning Mono on master try and see if the quality change

Wonderful mixing tool to makes things sound more slick, thanks
this is a brilliant tool👍👍👍
This is probably one of those racks I'm going to use on EVERY track I make. This is genius! I'll probably have to come back with a bigger tip for ya!

A great teacher, cheers man
There's so much untamed magic in mixing. Most of us only have 2 speakers, but these cool delay tricks can make things sound so wide!
So awesome and appreciate you sir. Well taught with a great rack to manage the issue, definitely following!
VERY RECOMENDED!!!! thanks seed
the dislikes are bots for shure. So underrated youtuber, thank you for all your work!!!!
Awesome- just what I was after. Subscribed.
I would like to know how to make a sound like the one you used for your intro. I really like it

really cool --- big question tho, why do you want to make sure it sounds good in mono?? because that is how some people are hearing it or ...
Happy 30K-th! Thanks for the great content as usual.
Love this. Thanks!
You are Gold! Thank you 🙏🏻
Nice ableton device. Thanks for sharing :)
Brilliant content, thank you.
Super helpful videos!! Thank you!!!
Another great video tutorial! Thx!
Awesome work!
Roughly when are you planning to launch your Ableton course? cause I am in! and Amen at the same time.
I plan on having the first one done in about a month from now. You can sign up to be notified about it here: mailchi.mp/a6892b61ffb2/seedtostage
very nice thanks for this. great video
great as always. thanks for this.
For M4L users, there's BadHaas: gumroad.com/l/HxoNC
It's a 100% mono compatible multibands (3) stereo widener.
Good work man!
Useful stuff, often I loose your mouse though. Can you put magnifier on mouse, so it will be much easier to follow?
Great stuff, thank you!
Quality content, thanks!
Great tutorial and chanel!! i suscibe now
Seems great! Your rack doesn't seem to work with Live 9.1
its 9.6+

i wanna know the same thing buddy
@@RedAZZAdeviL Yep just use the other one. They will both work in 10 but the one thats not labeled 9.6 is the OG one for Ableton 10.
Seed to Stage thanks man 👌🏻

yep thats pretty much a more basic version of what i did. You can download my little effect and open it up to see yourself
tried to buy the plugin, payment wouldnt go through. is this discontinued?
Can you use this on every channel?
Izotope offers a free widener that doesn't introduce phasing for some reason. Maybe not Haas?

This device is for Mac only ?
just use a multiband imager :)
What sorcery is this lol awesome tutorial ;D
Thanks.
Its the same as a stereo wider from waves audio, is that correct?
what's wrong with the stereo width macro on utility?
Nothing. However the utility device can only expand stereo side and material if it already exists. This device instead creates sideband material. The human ear can hear the difference between two sounds at 22ms. below 22ms it still thinks it's the same sound.
Still confused why we need to turn Mono on master track?
It's mono compatible stereo widening. That way the wide sound is the same when hearing it with a cell phone speaker etc
