Watching Mike flail that sledgehammer around just to get over a tree reminds me of a scared animal trying its best to flail its way out of someone's hand. Just mindless swinging in hopes something happens.
The entire episode everyone watching was screaming "TURN UP THE MOUSE SENSITIVITY"! 🤦♂️🤣 I give the dudes a pass tho since they don't play much PC games.

This games controls lends itself well to the touch-screen smartphone_pad_ios_thing type of using your finger instead of your entire wrist.

I remember playing a BMX game a lot like this, where you make circles with the mouse to pedal, and the back wheel has to get on the obstacle or you'll fall off of it and everything was hard to get to, and after playing for about an hour, it said, "now you're ready for level one" and I fucking raged

I saw a really shitty online game years ago called Sexy Hiking. The gameplay is basically the same.

A tip: flailing the mouse around won't really help in this game, that's just going to bounce you all over the place, like you were here. It's much better to make all your moves very slowly and carefully, you'll have much more control over where you end up going.
I'd love to see these guys play it again--with a bigger mouse pad this time.

Aaron Laughlin not a bad game by any means, but easy to get angry at and criticize
It'd be hilarious if, through the AVGN's play-through, he starts to learn the lesson of the game: that it's not worth getting frustrated or angry over every little thing, and he starts to learn to appreciate the design of even really bad games... before riding the snake or something. exploding with rage, and going back to being his angry self.
One slight problem: AVGN episodes are only about games that are at least a decade old. This is why we got Big Rigs and Sonic 06, but nothing more recent.
And right after saying that, i realized he played some of his own games on AVGN. Shit.
The most excited I've heard u guys playing a game in a long time 😂

+Yo Momma PewDiePie played this and the game glitched out at one point. Something weird af like the character's arm stretched out really far and the game crashed. Probably a rarely encountered bug, though.
GUYS GUYS! This whole game was made in reference to the AVGN karate kid episode where he mentions if there was a super hard game where all you have to do is get over a cliff! Idk where the pot came in though hahaha

They should try replacing the mouse with a touch pad. Less painful, but I don't know how well it would work with the game.
Or maybe up the mouse sensitivity and move it with fingers instead of whole wrist.

You should try N++ or Super Meat Boy for modern old school platforming with physics. Its very skill based.

I'm really enjoying watching you guys play PC games. I have a suggestion for a game that would make a great James and Mike Mondays episode, GUARANTEED. The game is called: 'The Stanley Parable'. Its not a game that requires any skill to play but playing it is an experience on its own, you will see what I mean when you play it ;) . PS: If you do play it, knock on door 430 5 times...
Do come back to this one! More intense than one would think of a game with a man stuck in a pot ... climbing ... mountains with a hammer?!

It sure shows these guys are oldschool gamers when only way to save progress known to them is checkpoints and never heard of constantly saving games. Also stop playing without arm support and you wont get fucked up wrists. xD

As I understand it; there aren't checkpoints, AND it does save your progress. That's not a contradiction. It constantly saves at all times; you will always start exactly where you left off. He does say "even your mistakes". So it's not a checkpoint in that if you reach a certain place, you get to start from that place.

For physics games, you should try Umihara Kawase series, its a real fucking classic, the original was on the super famicom if Im not mistaken

This might be my favorite James & Mike Mondays video ever. It's really infectious seeing the two of them ride this game's weird learning curve, getting excited over every little bit of progress, and emotionally wrecked at every fall.
