    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Scarecrow (Michael Jackson) and Dorothy (Diana Ross) find the yellow brick road and celebrate by singing "Ease on Down the Road."
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
Sidney Lumet's The Wiz is the film version of the popular Broadway musical that retells the events of L. Frank Baum's classic novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz through the eyes of a young African-American kindergarten teacher who's "never been below 125th Street." Leaving a large family dinner to chase her dog into a snowstorm, Dorothy (Diana Ross) is swept up by a cyclone and transplanted to the land of Oz -- which looks suspiciously like a skewed version of the run-down Manhattan of the late '70s. Landing on top of the Wicked Witch of the East, the puzzled Dorothy is greeted by munchkins who peel themselves from a graffiti mural and sing to her about the Wiz (Richard Pryor), a powerful wizard living in Emerald City who can help her get home. On her journey down the yellow brick road, she encounters a garbage-stuffed scarecrow (Michael Jackson) in a junkyard, a broken-down tin man (Nipsey Russell) caught in the decay of an old amusement park, and a cowardly lion (Ted Ross) posing as a stone statue outside a museum. The quartet tangles with a subway station that comes to life, a poppy den, and a gaggle of motorcycle henchman on their way to the Wiz -- who orders them to kill the Wicked Witch of the West (a sweatshop tyrant) before he will grant them their wishes. The Wiz has about double the large-scale production numbers of The Wizard of Oz (1939), with songs written and composed by Charlie Smalls.

Michael and Diana looked like they were having so much fun during this scene. But considering Diana had to dance in heels I know her feet were killing her, and Michael that's what I call raw talent. There will never be another one like him ever.

+Deipatrous The sheer number of adults and children who went to Neverland Ranch, came out again, and have never brought up any wrong doing over 30 years should be more than enough evidence of the opposite. Nearly everyone who accused Michael Jackson were proven false or had a past history of fraud and exploitation. The parents in both cases went directly to a lawyer first, the same lawyer oddly enough, and the police second. The same District Attorney who tried to press this case against Jackson in the 1990s did it again in the 2000s, but despite being one of the most drawn out trials in recent US history they could not prove Jackson did any wrong.
The man was eccentric, troubled, and acted out at times. It was low hanging fruit and made him an easy target for character assassination. Neither his personality, the cases brought against him, nor having his name repeatedly cast in whatever light the media thought would sell the best, add up to any wrong doing. That he is dead should earn some respect, but more so since we both know you've only said what you have based on a vague, apathetic opinion.

The phrase 'no shit' is often used to suggest someone is stupid for not being aware of something, or saying something obvious to everyone. And as this is on the internet I have no idea of how you would have said it had it been real life, and therefore did not interpret it in that way; do think a bit more first about what you are saying and how others may interpret it, especially on the internet.

Michael's performance in this film is quite impressive & underappreciated. Even with all his musical accomplishments , he remained an underutilized talent with nearly unlimited potential. Too much to fulfill in a single lifetime.
It's also worthwhile to watch this isolating Diana Ross' performance. She manages not only to hold her own hoofing in a scene with one of the greatest dancers in history , but creates a harmonious & complementary counterpoint within the scene, something even a dance specialist would approach as a real challenge.

I'll never get over how Diana Ross and Michael sound so good together. She clearly influenced his way of singing a lot. I love how both used to shout out in their songs. I just wish they had more duets together! Watching them on stage was a lot of fun 'cuz they were so into it when together! A real power couple! The big age difference might have kept Diana from marrying Michael and that's such a shame😢
