This movie lowkey creeped me out when I was younger, especially the part when the kids started coming out of the walls and the subway chase scene. Really good movie though.
I saw this at the movies in the 1st grade. I was excited, confused, frightened, amazed and proud. I didn't know how much of a treasure this would become. so glad I got to experience this. it made me proud to be black. one of the first times where I could put myself in a movie and not feel out of place. And not to mention michael jackson and dianna ross were in it.
The "EVERYTHINGS" in this song are so captivating it's insane Bass line, harmonies, orchestration, the nods to classic band Marches, the singing, and I still ain't got it all. The way Thelma Carpenter bends the blue notes *chef's kiss* There ya go lol
This movie made me proud to be black as a kid and even more so now as an adult and this song brings me to tears cuz it's about the power of SOURCE MOST HIGH
@@felixicon He did all the arranging; Charlie Smalls wrote all the songs except for "Everybody Rejoice (Brand New Day)" which Luther Vandross wrote. The WIZ were indeed a fun, fantastic, neat favorite's of mine to enjoy to watch back in the days while in my youngster body form; and it's still an awesome choice to choose to watch and bop along and or to sing along to the awesome singers spiritual singing voices.👌↗Love peace and respect to Diana Ross; and all the other actors and actresses that starred in the awesome 🎥 movie The Wiz making so an awesome top hit back in the dayz the 🎥 movie were being exposed as more so new.↗😘

My favorite number from the movie. I particularly like the cut back to the main theme at 3:40. Some parts remind me of the 1963 song, "Down at Papa Joe's"

By far one of the best musicals around. So well done I'm trying to emulate those same notes caught here. Incredible.
Quincy jones produced every song in this movie that’s crazy
Ppl forget how great of a composer he is. He helped MJ with his greatest album
This is where him and MJ met

Let me tell you 'bout
The world and the way things are
You've come from a different place
And I know you've traveled far
Now that you've told me what it is
I'd better point you towards the Wiz

He's the man
He's the only one
Who can give your wish right to ya
He's the Wizard
He'll send you back through time
By running magic through ya
All of the super power's his
Listen and I'll tell you where he is
He's the Wiz and he lives in Oz
He's the Wizard
There's the way to Emerald city
That's not too far, is it?
He's the Wizard
Just take your dilemma, child
And lay it on the Wizard
He'll fix you a drink
That'll bubble and foam
And in a flash
You will be home
He's the Wiz

He's the Wizard of Oz
He's got magic up his sleeve
He's the Wizard
And you know without his help
It would be impossible to leave
Fantastic powers at his command
