It's a useful trigger in order to cover the ball if it's full and going to deviate, especially when facing spin. It's easier to go back for short balls when your weight is slightly on the front foot, as opposed to the other way round (back foot first and then front foot).
You're ready for the drivable or in-the-slot ball. To step out, you take a long front foot stride b4 ball is released. If it's in the slot, you keep going with the momentum and step out to the pitch of the ball. But if at release you see it dropped shorter, you push off the already planted front foot and rock back onto the backfoot quickly bcoz your weight was on front foot and you could PUSH back with your front foot.
it's called trigger movement which you have to figure out what is best for you. genrally great players take the weight off front foot initially to reach the ball well. because once you plant your feet at a place then you are using your hands to reach the ball, which is dangerous. your whole body should come in line of ball
Anyone know what to do if i am short, and the leg spin delivery is bouncing as high as my shoulders on off side, what should i do? I have been out many times from this delivery
let it go if its bouncing as high as your shoulders then you wont get bowled, either stay deep in your crease and cut it or go far down the pitch to make it a half volley. Try moving inside your crease while the bowler is running in to manipulate his length and line.
Please if you were going to explain how to play spin, you should have chosen any good spinner to bowl , he bowled only one spinning delivery rest were full or full toss

i absolutely loved watching Clarke play against spin bowling. He alongside Younis Khan were the best batsmen of spin bowling in 2000s.
Lara was #1 against spinners. Then Clarke and Younis. But no one got into perfect position every time as much as Lara...

When you are playing forward shots ,the bowler can easily identify and he will out you with stump out
