This issue genuinely crushed me, there were a couple of weeks where it looked like I wouldn't ever be able to play superflat again! This has been my favourite series in a while :)

Note to Toycat: backup world after every session. That’s what I’ve been doing for about 2 years now.
That's what I came here to say. Why wouldn't you back it up after every stream?
Me too, I backup every day I play. It only takes a couple minutes, I store every backup file on an external SSD so it doesn't eat up my memory and bog down my computer, and it has saved me twice from losing dozens of hours of progress. Even losing one single day of progress is frustrating, but losing a week or more would easily be enough to rage quit an entire world 😆
I don't even bother using minecrafts backup feature. I just take a direct copy of my world file and store it on an external drive. Easy peasy, then when a corrupting crash happens, which is all but inevitable, I just delete that world file from the game, copy my most recent backup, and paste it right back into the .minecraft save folder.
Wait, how do you back things up on bedrock?
@@insignificantduck313 I'm on Java, but I'd imagine on Bedrock you can do the same as me. Locate the world save file folder and make a copy, then paste it in another location.

Something to learn from this:
At 6:30, if you install that A/C up on the wall, it will cool the room better because heat rises.
Keeping a heater on the ceiling and an A/C on the floor is as efficient as using wooden axe to mine obsidian and wooden shovel to cut trees.
Heaters belong on the floor, and A/C belongs on the ceiling.

I'm a Game Developer and I can't tell you how many times I've spent countless hours on a project just to have forgotten to save it or forget to do a backup on it and the progress and countless hours I spent on it to be gone FOREVER
I can't say this enough Backup your worlds at least every hour or even everytime you complete something major

This usually happens to my worlds and when it does i just instantly force quit/unplug my console before the game saves, and rejoin with eveything back to normal.
Gratz on fixing the world. I was kinda used to getting this kind of issues when in java + mods, but in vanilla bedrock?!? That was surprising and scary!

Something really cool that happened to me on my own super flat world is that around day 100 I found a zombie who spawned with full diamond enchanted armor and he dropped me is helmet! (With aqua affinity). Diamond armor isn’t impossible!

I'll say it again, even though you can tell by the difference in microphone I still appreciate that they cover toycat's face with toy cat when the sound is the voice over and only show it when it's the original audio

I work with software, have my regular backup, and they have been successful many times, I had design it to be as powerful as possible to get me 'back to work' ASAP. Including a pre backup of many of my configuration, shortcuts and so on...
I mean that's not a great game journey, until you get a corrupt world. But under that motivation you can get a lot of people prepared for many life saver traits.
Had an idea; do this again, but only give yourself one oak sapling and a bucket of lava to start with. No bonus chest! You should be able to get EVERY kind of villager AND go to the nether, eventually! 😃
You can't get to the nether with just one bucket of lava though

That wont make it any harder. Even worse, the lava bucket will make it easier, and also do you think he will restart all over again after 70 HOURS?

toycat for the fish tank you can place water in every block in every layer of the fish tank and then the fish will swim normally

I made a farm of ALL enchantments from villagers and the order in which they connect to a work station seems to be in order of when their bed was placed so if you place the beds all in a line (1,2,3,4,5) then you just have to place the work stations in that order (1,2,3,4,5)
IRON FARM FIX IDEA!!!! move villagers into individual holes around the farm place the work station down first infront then the villagers will go sort themselves to their station and won't unlink. Once your sure your villager is locked into it's work station bay then trade with it once to lock it so they won't change stations anymore. It also makes it possible to use your iron farm as a trading hall

try using magma blocks around a fenced-off iron golem with a hopper minecart running underneath and then onto a collection system made from hoppers pointed into chests.
Pointing the hoppers _into_ the chests is extra important - don't make the same mistake I did by pointing them in random directions by accident.

Dont worry toycat. I lost my huge survival world (streamed it all) and then my ps4 crashed, then corrupting the world which led me to delete it. But luckily i did have a backup and it set me back abiut 5 - 10 hours of work. Been on the grind and im just about caught up to where i lost the world
Wow yeah it's still really nuts to see what you can do starting with technically so little.
Bedrock Edition has so many bugs, especially when it comes to worlds.

Idk how or why but mobs can’t jump over azalea bushes. It’s like how a fence with carpet works but it’s easier to get. Good way to keep animals enclosed or keep monsters away
Cyan is not a fake collor. It is, in fact, a primary collor. So are magenta and green.

red, green and blue are positive primary collors.

magenta, yellow, and cyan are negitive prime collors.

When trying to push animals/villagers, crouch. You won't phase thru them and you don't have to feather your speed.

legacy and bedrock sadly has that 'feature' or losing progress randomly, it was more prevelant on the ps3/xbox360 edition though
currently lost a 5 year old survival world like that, i had backups too, but it was a rather old one, i basically had lost 2 major builds and grindings off of that crash

I had this happen to me once before on the only survival world I will ever have and basically it was this ravine village world and when the glitch happened it just deleted most of the chunks around my base and also some random sections of my world would just be gone like a fill command or something but luckily I had a copy of the world and I made a copy of that and it was all fixed. I still have the glitched world in my game doe (I save a copy of my world everytime I play yes I am very cautious because I've lost around 100 worlds before)

This happened to my long term survival world on Xbox one time when I had 230 hours in it and my last backup was from 70 hours earlier and didn’t have achievements enabled
Being limited is what make this challenge amazing. I've survived 496 days flat survival and made so many things. Before that I also tried with lava and 12 ender frames added, but after getting max gear (w/elytra) on day 232, I was burnt out.
Also try this harder challenge, just flat world without even bonus chest. If you play bedrock pre-1.18, it's possible that vindicator spawn as a part of patrol (now you can only get pillager). You kill at least five of them to get 5 emerald for purchasing oak sapling. Then the challenge continues as normal. For pre-1.17, there's no way to lure the lightning, but don't worry. Drowned drops gold ingot, so you skip the stage of getting copper

You should try to Trade with the villager once to lock its profession. Thats fixed a similar issue I had with my iron farm.
There 100% was an issue with youtube channel subscriptions a few years back. I lost almost all of mine. The suspicious thing is because it kept basically just Lad Bible and university channels, but removed all the smaller yters that are hard to find despite me watching that exact style of content all the time xD

All u need to do for ur iron farm is move them all to one side but instead of stacking them into one spot, make a tunnel of sorts that they can reach their workstations. And need no other job blocks within a 100 block radius. I'd literally pay to see you go step by step instructions to fix the iron farm!

Man started a revolution of minecraft RUclips by just existing. Surviving minecraft on 3 layers of dirt has never been so popular
I play on Xbox. About a month ago my survival world got randomly corrupted, along with most of the recent backups of it. It started with a “no more storage” message. After making sure I did indeed have more storage and a little research, it seemed the only way to fix it was to uninstall and reinstall the game. After doing so, I load up Minecraft to find that my survival world, along with about the last 3 IRL weeks worth of copies, was gone. No “can’t sync”, just gone.
I did have one copy that was available and was able to sync back up, but I did lose about a months worth of progress.
I make copies of my survival world every single time I log out now, only deleting extras once they start to pile up (like 10 or more).
Sometimes, Bedrock really sux... but, we soldier on.

My pc crashed once and currupted my long term survival world. Luckily I had a backup from 3 months before, so I didn't lose THAT MUCH progress. I've regularly backed up my world ever since.
I know this is unrelated, but is the classic skin pack removed from the marketplace?

I like to search for videos using things I've made and thank the creators for using them, and I can scroll down 500 items and still find things relative to my search because most of the results are just completely unrelated. I can scroll 1000 items and still find ones that I've never seen before because there are like 30 recommended for you videos in between each relevant result.
