- In this video I gained a foothold on mainland Italy and slowly chipped away at the counties within the kingdom of Italy, Venice, Romagna. I slowly and surely was able to invest in my main counties, build the silver mines, advance in technologies and buildings!

11:50 The Karling at the earlier start date have some random dynasty heritage . I think they advance through the scheming tree and get the perk that protect each member from one murder scheme.
Yeah, the prompt showing Family Connections means it was that perk coming up, not that the assassination attempt failed.

I did this with the Viking option to leave you lands on an adventure. Took Sardinia, Sicily North Africa and then 7 generations later I’m a 2x emperor and I’ve basically recreated the Roman Empire before the great collapse.
while you have the golden obligations hook put your spymaster to search for secrets at the courts of kings. Make sure to mary your courtiers find a good "medic" and spyymaster, also you can play the "traits roulette" with your courtiers as well. Also if you give one of your sons a county wich has a temple or a city as a county capital instead of a castle, thus him forming either a theocracy or a republic eliminating him and his potential children from the succession
Mate playing this on xbox and your channel is helping loads and I mean loads the fact there awesome videos. This is some top tier content
@@OttawaWelshman honestly after so many restarts and ridiculous hours played still not the full grasp of the game and that's why I love it. And speaking as a new player looking for help it was really hard to come by so yes I think a basic tutorial would be awesome but leave some things out for everybody to have to work for it

In my relatively short playthrough as Sardinian count. I pledged fielty to Kaiser of HRE, i found myself being elected to be the next Kaiser because i was a learned holy man! Aint that a raise to power eh? If you can manage to hold off all the Dukes coming for your head later on lol.

6:04 - i am not sure if that is an honest mistake or there is some new mechanic i wasnt aware of. Why did you select your Chancellor by sorting by Intrigue?
@@OttawaWelshman Haha - didnt mean to be mean. I was honestly surprised and thought there was some kind of hidden mechanic that went past me since i still prefer to play CK2 over CK3. But you actually inspired me enough to put some hours into CK3 now.
