Boys you HAVEN'T experienced this band till you do a LIVE performance. Try Scream for Me (ruclips.net/video/9Og4gvSUmCo/видео.html) or Raise Some Hell (ruclips.net/video/Qm-3zhCFghg/видео.html). These women are insanely talented and have only been together for 4 years. Midori and Miyako have had some wicked riff battles but it is their harmonizing that is flawless LIVE that really impresses especially at these speeds. Haruna on drums is a beast and non-stop driving force. The bluesy vocals have taken the 80's sound of Iron Maiden/Judas Priest along with some Dragon Force to a new level. This band gets better with each new video they put out. The 1st all female metal band from Japan to play at Wacken and Bloodstock in 2018. (Midori is the white ESP and Miyako is the Dean, she just got her own custom build one).
Midori, the one with the white guitar plays ESP guitars, she has a few of them. The one in the video is the ESP E-II FRX, custom white, I believe. It´s a really nice guitar, but then again so is Miyako´s Dean. Miho plays ESP Bass guitars, and while I´m at it, Haruna plays Pearl drums, she is endorsed by them.
Not only does Midori play ESP guitars, last year she went to the ESP Guitar Craft Academy where she joined the other students and designed and made 4 guitars, 2 at least of which she has used on stage.
Not only that, but she and Miyako both appeared at NAMM 2020 for ESP and Dean (respectively) and were reps of their brands there. they are the real deal and then some.
Here is my favorite review of Lovebites, from one of their live concerts: "Imagine, somewhere in the galaxy, a race of benevolent beings who watch over us. They see our world falling into evil and chaos, and so, to help us, they create a team of superheroes and send them to Earth to save us. These heroes are disguised as beautiful young women dressed in white, and instead of using violence or force, they use music to battle the darkness. That is this band." Hope you do one of their live clips!
Two things you will see when it comes to LoveBites: 1. They will always wear white. Simple reasons for that: Most of the time, most bands are wearing something dark or black, which makes for these ladies, would make them hard to see. Haruna (the drummer) is only 4' 9"! The rest are no taller than 5' 5", so wearing white makes them easier to see and be recognized. 2. They are breaking the stigma that metal bands have to be sweaty, smelly guys on stage, or if women have to look sleazy. They could dress elegantly, look like WOMEN, and throw down just as hard as the rest of the guys and their influences (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, etc.). You have to admit, this does make them stand out. As the others said, they are great here, but they are even better live. I'd suggest reacting to Thunder Vengeance, from their show at Zepp Diver Tokyo. It's on their channel, and so worth it!
1- Ooh, I'm not sure now. They actually might go with black with the next PV. Asami kinda of game me a tease on that, I think. 2- I think that's because of a backward thinking that metal was for men, and thus that women playing it had to be butch. It's ridiculous. Women can do it just as well, but in their own way. As for suggestions, Holy War and Swan Song, from the same live... in fact all of their songs are great,
@@Argumemnon The issue is not that 'women cant metal'. Most men 'cant metal' either. Metal was born with this male-ish hyper aggressiveness and that is what people used to think about when they heard about the metal world. Male happen to be more, well, male-ish and aggressive than women, therefore you expect metal women to be like Tatiana from Jinjer. When you get to know the genre for the very first time and you see that everything looks much different from what you would feel comfortable with, you probably avoid it. Only a few people (women in this specific case) are skilled enough to 'break' those barriers, and it is just a matter of time that eventually some girl band shows something different that brings some diversity to the genre (fusion usually works better as a bridge between two different genres, as the first Ladybaby or Babymetal). What i mean with 'skilled' is that in order to get attention from a crowd you may look or sound good to them. If your looks dont appeal, you need to draw their attention with some crazy music skills. I want to emphasize that this issue in the metal community is not attached to being a woman, but women dont usually look as someone you expect from the metal world, as you dont expect an ordinary person to be a metalhead but popish
I believe midori is using an ESP E2 (white guitar) and Miho Bassist is using esp jazz bass and miyako uses dean guitars and I recommend any song from their live performances like Thunder Vengeance, Holy War, Swan Song, Raise some Hell, Epilogue, Scream for Me , Empty Daydream (all live)
ESP E-ii (e2) line has a lot of variation within itself. That violin cutout with the lil devil tail is the FRX. Midori is “ESP’s darling”, featuring that guitar since 2013?, when she was already a signed speed demon, after as few as 4years of playing. (We know she didn’t try guitar until age 20, then went to ESP’s Music Institute. Then had the band GekijoMetalicche (spelling?). But no one quite knows how old she is. I used 1990. 1992 at the youngest, or is she an 80s kid? Anyway learned fast, plays faster. In 2019 each of the 4 ESP luthier schools Guitar Craft Academy built her completely custom designs (they’re all beautiful, in the past have builteagles, dragons etc, but also a fascinating candy carrying fan-cooled icecramcone guitar?!). The burgundy one made the live dvd, blend of E-ii and Snapper (BabyMetal) designs, cut slightly down in size Miyako has a custom (by her tech) Tele copy that is Gorgeous, and a les Paul for hard tail drop tunings, and a range of Deans (USA Icon;dimebag darrell guit), But is in process of releasing her signature Dean model, a Dean V with slight mods (mostly cosmetic I think?). Her Miyako Official channel has a series of reveal vids... Always gold hardware with these kids, gotta match outfits! See their Whitesnake/Judas Priest style Dancing with the Devil live video to see singer vamp, and both of their customs...
You want another great dual guitar solos? Check their song: Holy war, Shadowmaker, We The United, Rising, Raise some hell, Adicted IMO Best duo after Judaspriest and Dragonforce These ladies are not joke
Awesome reaction guys, definitely won me over for your awesome remarks of our gorgeous metal goddesses. As everyone else has mentioned any song you do from them is never a disappointment.
YASSSSS! I've been waiting for you guys to get to this. Just wish LVT (? - your gorgeous female bandmate) had been there, to witness this blast of girl power. Small note--the Dean is the Dimebag model. So, this was a good choice to start with, and now it's on to live performances, where you will see what they can really do. Start with "Thunder Vengeance", the opening number from their last show this year (just before the lock down): ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html
MVs are the best but live ladies are more than the best. Asami vocal- fairy, Midori- lead guitar-hot princess, Miyako- lead guitar-ice princess, Miho bass boss of the band, fay who conjured the band up and Haruna drumms, stellar drummer. Nice reaction.
Yeah guys you just sow the winners of the 2018 year in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are power metal band formed in 2016 in Tokyo from Miho the bassist and Haruna the drummer. The other members are Asami the vocalist, Midori the lead guitarist and Miyako with the black hair the other lead guitarist and pianist. They are the best all female power metal band in the world at the moment. The difference between the other Japanese bands is they prefer to sing English. Their last album Electric pentagram from this year is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020. You have to check some songs from their last concert Five of kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year like Thunder vengeance, Rise some hell, Holy war, Dancing with the devil,Swan song, Shadowmaker,Break the wall, Hammer of wrath. In July they released all concert on DVD. Is a just mind blowing stuff. Enjoy it. And in the last place they are influenced by 80s metal.
They personify, No matter how good you think you play a musical instrument, there is a Japanese lady who plays it better! (paraphrased&stolen). I suggest you react to Swansong by Lovebites, it has a surprise musical instrument in it.
Great reaction guys. This is total awesome band, especially live. You should check out this video called "Thunder Vengeance". Lovebites are very versatile with their music. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html
Very enjoyable 'reaction' of LOVEBITES. Thanks for promoting them. I will also recommend "Thunder Vengeance" followed by "Holy War" as that is how the band chose to present themselves in their most recent concert video. It's true that ALL their songs are excellent, but might a well see them as they chose to present themselves and their music, eh? These are "official" channel vids so no 'takedown' issues I know of. "Thunder Vengeance": ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html "Holy War": ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html No 'reactors' have done these songs back-to-back in the same 'reaction' and doing that will show the POWER they bring to begin their show.. If you like 'classic' HEAVY METAL (reinvigorated) you won't be disappointed.
ESP custom and the lady on the Dean is sponsored by Dean and on the live song from Zepp she played Dimebags custom the song is Thunder Vengeance also from that show check out Holy Wars and they just stoped a new music video Transvan two flying Vs Gibson and a Dean these ladies are serious musicians and I play by drums be and their drummer is like 4' 9" and she kick ass great band top to bottom☠️
I recommend checking any live performance from daughters of the dawn or Zepp divercity/five of a kind concerts (2019-2020). The band is only 3 years old and older concerts have bad quality/mix, so check only from these 2 concerts, so we don't have to be disappointed with bad sounds. The only music video I would recommend is the kick ass Crusade, which link is here: ruclips.net/video/ueKyQ4xI-mY/видео.html (Makes sure to use this link, NOT the other "youtube" version).
The black guitar is as you mentioned a Dean, and you already know the bass guitar is an ESP. I think the white guitar is also an ESP 'cause the blonde guitarist loves ESPs. By the way the dark haired guitarist's favorito is her customized Dean USA Icon. Watch this clip, she opens the cover for you to show how it is modified.

As a sound tech, if sound guy or drum tech says it's impossible to get two kicks sound "the same", they're full of crap. They probably don't know how to tune drums. Why? Because they're not supposed to sound EXACTLY the same. The whole distinction between two kicks comes from the fact that they're a bit different and from the fact that the tail of the drum isn't cut short every hit -> it is cleaner sounding when you use two. Only important thing is to get the "click" of the drum (in this style of music) to be as close as possible at the same frequency and that the phase between the drums is right and it'll be great :D
