This is the most epic guitar solo run I've ever heard. Miyako & Midori don't just do solos - they do these incredible solo runs, each taking the spotlight and then sharing it. It goes on "forever" and it's never enough. Best duo ever IMO, two contrasting styles that just work so perfectly together. I hope M&M grow old together and never split up. Haruna never stops, ever, and Miho (and hopefully the new bassist) runs hand in hand with Haruna. And Asami's vocals, just so unexpected with the music behind her.
Being multi instrumentalist and with prolific strength in keyboards , this composer extraordinaire perhaps could pen down the music notes of her imagined music concept as the initial framework without an instrument at hand. There are musicians who have crafted a music composition while traveling in an airplane.
These song When Destiny Align, Shadowmaker, Glory to The World, Empty Daydream, Epiloque, Frozen Serenade, The Crusade, We The United, Set The World On Fire.. (easy to say, all their songs) always got me goosebump. How its all well composed and played. To amazing to deny. Mindblowing. Thanks GMG👍👍🤘🤘
Thanks for the reaction! "When Destinies Align" is a song about LOVEBITES .Originally Miyako, who wrote the music, gave the name of this song - "Lovebites". When Asami wrote the lyrics, she wrote about the 5 members the band. The title was eventually changed to "When Destinies Align". In the MV the ladies look like Japanese samurai (clothes, armor, weapons). "Bushido" (Way of the Warrior) states: - "A samurai has no goal, there is only a path" - “Be who you are, not who others want you to be” LOVEBITES are ladies with the soul of a samurai. Their Destinies Aligh in LOVEBITES, they chose their own path and follow it, breaking the usual stereotypes of people.
So, you noticed Miyako is wearing differently, and carrying a big sword. She actually is in a peasant like clothing. The sword is in a regular size but a proper samurai never carries his sword on his shoulder which is out of manner. That means Miyako is a furry sword man (it is man) but not a proper samurai. This whole clip is an homage to Seven Samurai of Akira Kurosawa. Miyako is playing Kikuchiyo (played by Toshiro Mifune) in that movie.
This and "Shadowmaker" were the videos that blew up and really announced Lovebites to the world. For good reason. Both of them are just jaw-dropping, brain-melting exercises in metal. Thanks for doing this even after having done the live version. It deserves millions of views.
that high scream asami does towards the end gives me chills every one of the thousand times i've seen this video. spot on about midori with the eye patch. she looks so badass and you know she could kick mine ! i'd relish the punishment.
I love the look of the band members when they are wearing Samurai Warrior outfits. I was first was attracted to their beautiful white dresses and after watching a few of their videos I fell in love with their music and live performances. I also would love to see them perform this song and Nameless Warrior wearing their Samurai Warriors outfits. I'm sure their comeback is going to be awesome! Peace and Lovebites!
After composing the song, Miyako gave it the temporary title Lovebites. She had been saving that honor since 2017 for use when she wrote a song Devine enough to carry that title. Miyako described the song as melodic speed metal. Recognizing the song as representative of the band, Asami wrote the lyrics about its five members ! 🤟🎸🔥🐺
As was pointed out, I'm an idiot and didn't even notice the major typo in the thumbnail. I won't be able to fix it until I get home from work tonight. It's obviously Lovebites! LOVEBITES - When Destinies Align lyrics: It is not just some coincidence It is nothing like reality It is something very precious that not everyone can get It is like a dream, a turn of fate It is what the each of us can bring It’s a chemical reaction, only possible by these pieces Why must someone get in our way?We won’t let them We can go cause we believe Why must someone put out the light deep inside our hearts Can you see?We can create a miracle Open your eyes, we’ll make a new future All of our hopes are in these hands Like a bird flying into a world we don’t know Carry on, carry on This is us, carry on It is failure that has brought us here It is made of our blood and tears It is something very strong that keeps us moving on and on It is love, ambition, destiny It is why we’ve been through everything It is what becomes the reason, shining bright into tomorrow Why must someone get in our way?We won’t let them We can go cause we believe Why must someone put out the light deep inside our hearts Can you see?We can create a miracle Open your eyes, we’ll make a new future All of our hopes are in these hands Like a bird flying into a world we don’t know We will always be together Carry on, carry on This is us, carry on Open your eyes, we’ll make a new future All of our hopes are in these hands Like a bird flying into a world we don’t know We will always be together Open your eyes, we’ll make a new future All of our hopes are in these hands Like a bird flying into a world we don’t know We will always be together Carry on, carry on This is us, carry on ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
This is the beauty when you have a drummer with music theory literacy and compositional abilities and skill designing the fills and creating a solid and tight rhythm section. Lovebites are very precise in their time signature execution: Haruna and Miho is key to the beats per minute constancy. Any bungling from either Haruna or Miho, the 2M's will face the embarrassing consequences of a disarrayed dual harmony guitar solo.
Thank you for your reaction, Glass Moon. I hope you would react to a number of these Old School 1970s songs by The Carpenters: Superstar; Ticket to Ride; Help; Rainy Days and Mondays; We've Only Just Begun; Top of The World; And When He Smiles; Masquerade; A Song For You; Close to You; California Dreamin'; A Rainbow Connection; Breaking Up is Hard to do; I can't Smile Without You; I just Keep Falling In Love Again; Make Believe It's Your First Time; For All We Know; Only Yesterday; Yesterday Once More; I'll Never Fall In Love Again; A Place to Hideaway; Mr. Postman; All You Get from Love is a Love Song; I Need Some Time; Sing a Song; All of My Life; Bless the Beasts and Children; Calling Your Name Again; Goodbye to Love; Hurting Each Other; I Believe You; I Have You; I Need to Be in Love; I Won't Last a Day Without You; Jambalaya (On the Bayou); Sweet, Sweet Smile; There's a Kind of Hush; Those Good Old Dreams; Where Do I Go from Here; You. These are all good songs; plus, there are more :)
Sweep picking is more difficult to learn than tapping. I learned tapping on a five-string bass at he age of fifteen, practiced it for a day or two, and had a good grip on it. Like most techniques, you can take tapping into higher levels of difficulty limited only by your creativity. Sweep picking is more intricate by necessity, but I learned it the same way I learned nearly everything; start slow and practice a lot. One thing I never mastered is the Carter Scratch, a technique named after Maybelle Carter, mother of June Carter and mother-in-law to Johnny Cash. I got turned on to her when I read that Jimi Hendrix and Chet Atkins called her one of the best pickers in guitar history. I'm not huge into country, especially modern country, but Maybelle was an undeniable badass. She would play rhythm, more or less the bass part, and simple leads at the same time. My understanding is that the Carter Family knew a guitarist named Leslie Riddle and Maybelle adopted some of his technique into her playing style. Her song "Wildwood Flower" is a favorite of mine. Damn, I went off on an unplanned tangent there. Anyway, if you'd like to see Midori all buff, here's a quartet of pics from her Twitter. They're safe for work, just her flexing with a brunette Asami being goofy behind her (they're worth seeing for that alone), but Midori's physique is evident here. twitter.com/midori_gt/status/1530743170895872000

I really can't say anymore. You hit the nail right on the head. Thanks!
Again, those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. All of them are so talented.
It's crazy! Thanks!
