- It has been an extremely busy week. We traveled to western Minnesota to pick up newly purchased Ile de France ewes and a new breeding billy goat. We traveled over 1100 miles round trip in 2 days. All the animals arrived safely and are settling in well. On Tuesday of that week, we interseeded our existing hay field with additional grass seeds and 2 types of clover. This will be used as permanent pasture in the future. Likely we will be able to harvest some hay from it as the sheep will not be able to keep up with the early growth in the spring. We also sorted groups of sheep. We are selling the majority of our lambs, some wether goats and 3 cull ewes and 1 cull nanny so, there was a lot of sorting, shifting, and fence construction for all the separate groups. We are a week away from starting the breeding season so much of this was in preparation for that time. At the end of the day we took some time to enjoy a relaxing bonfire and listen to the tree frogs and the night birds. Thank you for joining us at Norwal Farm

You are so busy! Love the new ewes and the “puppies “ are so big! Looks like all is going well.
Things are going well, thanks.
I'm glad everyone is doing well and that you're already being forced to expand to keep up with demand. That's a good problem to have.
Thanks Craig. Fingers crossed it goes well. We send our first animals in tomorrow (Monday). One of our greatest challenges is finding an abattoir that is taking on new customers. Most in our area are fully booked 2 years out. Fingers crossed; this works well. We won't have any more product until next spring so that gives us time to work with this company. I think they will work with us. We'll keep you posted.
I don't eat Goat or Lamb, but I thank you.
You are welcome.
